Yes, as in the Spike missile. I basically have my own 100mm top attack derivative. Nothing special about it.

Is it wrong that I want to use a shitload of different IFVs?

Supposing I had a nation (read: military) large enough would it be viable?

Finland's first attempt at indigenous APC (and apparently entire AFV family based on it).
Suffice to say it sucked.

Vammaskosken VK

The first Finnish armoured personnel carrier VK
by Major (Engineering) Esa Muikku, M.Sc.,
The Defence Forces Materiel Command Headquarters

During the Continuation War the Finns began developing personnel carriers based on the chassis of the war booty BT-7 tanks. The war ended before sufficient data was collected on the experiments to warrant conclusions.

In their United Nations peacekeeping missions the Finns received equipment that the UN had hired from Great Britain, including Ferret armoured vehicles. Great Britain offered these vehicles to Finland at 9000 pounds a piece, but their production was then about to end, and they were not obtained for Finland.

The procurement of a modern armoured personnel carrier was acknowledged topical on the grounds of the UN experiences. By the requirements prepared by the Defence Staff, the armoured vehicle had to be completely domestic production and based on the technology used in the diesel engine of the Valmet 1100 tractor. The speed of 30 km/h was considered sufficient.

The Vammaskoski factory, owned by the Ministry of Defence, took measures to plan the armoured vehicle. The factory’s own planning capacity was already taken up by the planning of tractor excavators and motor graders, so the factory hired a private engineering firm from Keuruu to plan the vehicle. One of the nicknames for the armoured vehicle, “the UN Master Sergeant”, is based on the production of the Vammaskoski factory, as it was considered to fall between the tractor excavator named Sergeant and another named Major.

In the experimental stages several problems were recognized in it, the greatest of which were the insufficient performance (115 hp) and the distribution of weight (1:2 between the front axle and the rear bogie), which was problematic for steering and terrain mobility. The Defence Forces had acquired experience on the Soviet BTR-60 APC’s that had been obtained for the Armoured Brigade, and to which the domestic novelty was compared. The petrol engine of the BTR-60 was seen as its disadvantage, but for other aspects the domestic product was inferior. There were problems among others in its communications equipment, doors, placement of the crew, and especially in terrain mobility. The maximum speed of the vehicle on road was measured as 27 km/h.

The vehicle of the Vammaskoski factory that ended up with the name VK was commissioned to the use of the Defence Forces in 1977. It was first used in the Armoured Brigade at Parolannummi and then in the Karelia Brigade at Vekaranjärvi. It logged a total of 1 060 hours of operation, until the vehicle was finally handed over to the Armour Museum in 1987.

It was a question of the first concrete experiment to produce a Finnish armoured personnel carrier. As such, the VK was unsuitable for either peacekeeping troops or the Defence Forces.

However, the Vammaskoski factory designed plans for eight different versions of the VK:
- an unarmed personnel carrier (with gun ports for crew weapons)
- a fire-fighting vehicle with a water gun turret
- a carrier vehicle armed with a 7,62 mm machine gun
- a reconnaissance vehicle with a 14,5 mm machine gun turret
- an anti-aircraft vehicle (with a twin-barrel 23 AA cannon in the turret)
- an anti-tank vehicle (with two 95 mm heavy recoilless rifles on the sides of the turret)
- a combat engineer vehicle (with a front loader and a lift boom with basket)
- a repair and tow vehicle (a lift boom and compartment for engine repair )

In the Defence Forces, the 1980’s were defined as the decade for developing the ground forces. Due to this, in 1979 preparations were made for the acquisition of an APC. The Defence Forces requested development from four Finnish industrial enterprises: Lokomo Oy, Sisu Oy, Valmet Oy, and the Vammaskoski factory. Lokomo Oy considered itself unable to answer the request. Sisu Oy and Valmet Oy responded by building concrete armoured vehicles: the Valmet 1912-6 and the Sisu XA-180. The Vammaskoski factory made initial plans of a VK2, but lacked sufficient planning capacity to materialize the plans. The Defence Forces ended up selecting the APC of Sisu Oy, today known as the Pasi.

If I'm not mistaken the weight given on Wikipedia (if that's your source) is for Wiesel 1s, no?

Actually no. Gefechtsmasse, that is combat mass (quite literally) is listed at 4.1 tons. Empty at 2.6 tons. CVR(T)'s generally weigh around 8 tons.

Actually I am not anymore sure if .30 has enough "oomph" to move unmodified AK action. Bolt carrier+operating rod is heavy piece after all.
