Sinovet, I think the easiest thing to do would be have a relatively minor trade dispute (with guns), spiral out of control and turn into a full blown war. It allows you to keep better control over things, by limiting initial faction sizes and then ramp them up as things progress. Plus, that might just shock an already insular people into thinking that the outside world is just too dangerous...

My nation is a alternate Version of Equestria, in which the mane 6 where not able to defeat Discord, and he continued to take over Equestria, and then later Invaded the New Crystal Empire when they returned, then placed King sombra as a puppet king for the Crystal Empire. Once This happened the Sisters Luna and Celestia once again tried to defeat Discord by rallying the ponies of Equestria against the Chaos god. But at this point Discord expected the Elements of Harmony, and Destroyed them before Celestia could gain access to them. Once the Sisters where defeated once and for all, they where sent in to exile. And Discord became known as God-King of Equestria, him and his Daughter Screwball where actually fairly light when it came to ruling, all they cared about was causing Chaos. Equestria now follows a new ideology, Anarcho-Monachy, in which you do whatever you want unless Discord tells you not too.

"SHUT OFF THE DAMN CLOCK, YOU MORONIC PIECE OF ROBOTIC GARBAGE!"

The irate voice bounced across the halls, and shuffling and trudging sounds radiated from a room labeled Grand Intellectual. The man complaining inside was the leader of one of the most educated nations in the world; sometimes, he felt like committing omnicide of everyone out of pressure. Alas, when he felt like something comparable to Adolf Hitler, he looked at his painting of the Last Supper on his wall, and he calmed down. This man, the leader of the most scientifically advanced nation that he's ever came across, was actually quite religious. He grunted in exhaustion, and hauled himself into the bathroom.

The bathroom was very advanced, with a toilet augmented to serve as a massage chair, with a 4K customized TV on the opposite wall of the toilet. The toilet had anti-gastrointestinal pain pills in the left arm chair, and headphones on the right.The man had no need to use these luxuries, as he did his morning shower and brushing. The shower was unique, as it also had a television inside it. The special part about this hunk of silicon and plastic?

It was waterproof!

The man exited the bathroom, and clicked a button on the wall next to the bathroom door. His entire wardrobe extended into the bedroom, showing all of his fancy suits, relaxedwear, and casual attire. He put on a plaid shirt with khaki pants,and relaxed a fedora on his head. He played around with it, tipping it like a le redditor would, in the Old World definition. All he needed was a pack of old Mountain Dew, and some Doritos with XP bonuses. Then he remembered; the facilities got infested by mutants after the Great War. he shrugged off the thought, and walked through the automatically-sliding translucent door.

He entered the hallway, which was adorned with doors stretching from one end of the corridor to the other. They all had plaques above them, showing the names of the government officials he worked with. They were his friends, as well. He walked down the hallway, toting his hat atop his head and a augmented phone in his right hand. He scrolled past the many messages and spam that clogged his eMail, and eventually closed the application. He took a large elevator down the shaft of the building, which stood high above the skyscrapers of Atlantis. The elevator has a TV, drink dispenser, and sofas lining the floors and walls of the elevator. He plopped down on one of the sofas, and began to resume his daily reruns of Autonomy, a TV show dedicated to telling the history of all the great empires of the world. He took off his hat and scratched his head unconsciously, waiting for the thirty minute trip down the large building.

The elevator dinged, and it's large doors slid open, revealing a flurry of activity in the main atrium of the building. Two armed guards stood at either side of the elevator door, stoic and still. The man stood up and whistled as he walked out the elevator door. The crowd respectfully parted in half as the man walked in between them, saluting him and tipping their hats and heads. The man walked out of the building, and pressed something on his phone. The road in front of him suddenly caved neatly, and a lavish luxury car slowly raised from the bowels of the road. The car honked as if alive, signaling that the man could get in. He unlocked the car using his phone, and slid into the driver's seat. He turned on the ignition, and pulled away from the sidewalk.

The shadow of the building casted a faint but ominous shadow over the "landscape", even though the city was entirely underwater. The man drove to and fro in the roads, until he arrived at a luxurious and elegant restaurant named "Pepe's Petite Parlour". He gradually exited the car, and trotted up to the restaurant's entrance. The doors slid downward, allowing the man to enter without any obstructions. A waiter bowed with a towel in one hand gracefully, and directed the man to his seat. The waiter already knew who the man was, so he had no need to take the man's identification card. The waiter stood still as a statue, as the man stroked his chin and browsed through the vast array of food selections on a holographic menu. The man pointed to a specific dish, and the waiter bowed in acknowledgement. He lept off, and the man played games on his phone until the waiter came back with a steaming, fresh lobster meal, complete with salads and extravagant wine. The man accepted the meal graciously, and gave the waiter some credits. The waiter walked away, proud of meeting the leader of his nation.

The man digged in, savoring each bite of the steamed lobster. He ate some of the salad, but passed it for the most part. H sipped some shots of wine, wiped his lips with a supplied embroidered napkin, and gradually departed. He got right back into his car, and slowly but suely entered the road lanes next to the restaurant. He followed the same path home, went in to the building's atrium, went back up to the top floor, went to his bedroom, and slept.

What did you expect? It was a Saturday.

I'm going to go ahead and say no. I'd recommend building some experience in II RP's or more structured multiverse roleplays before re-applying.
