Metric is the only system in Nexxus Drako, as Imperial was never adopted.

We use the bitcoin, actually. Many people in the Empire call it the super-metric system.
The New Texan Empire is a primarily far PMT empire set in a post-apocalyptic, irradiated world where society and fashion has not changed since the American Civil War, however with many First/Second World War elements, propaganda being a common example. See the Factbook archives for more information. I like TGs, so if you want to talk to me about ANYTHING, I'll respond, no matter how weird it sounds.

Nope. Our scientific literature often includes both Ermarianese and the SI units, but only in fields that also apply to Earth.

Otherwise, our system is somewhat similar to SI, but uses its own base units that are defined according to universal constants.

The four primary units are time, temperature, mass and electric charge. (We won't go into thaumics today; it's a bit more complicated.)

- time is measured in rel, which were once 1/16^4 of an Ermarianese solar day, but are now redefined to 13657516140 periods of Cs-133, so the conversion factor to Earth seconds (1.4857s/r, or 0.6731r/s) is fixed by definition.
- temperature is measured in Rano, which are an absolute unit scaled to between absolute 0 and one sixteenth of the triple point of Hydrogen (13.8033K). The conversion factor is therefore fixed at 0.8627K/R, or 1.1591R/K, with human body temperature at 267.4R, the freezing point of water at 235.5R, and the boiling point at 321.8R.
- mass is measured in Tyrn, which was once defined as the mass of a cubic Nimi of water at room temperature (about 1.095 grams), but is now redefined in terms of the atomic mass of Hydrogen to the same value.
- electric charge is measured in Zetor, defined to be the charge carried by exactly 16^16 (1.8447E+19) electrons, or about 2.9557 Coulombs.

These base units permit the derivation of others, such as the Nimi which is exactly 16^-8 light-rel (0.10308 meters). Other units are defined by combination - force is the fixed acceleration of a certain mass; energy the application of a fixed force over a particular distance, etc. etc. Most of these have no name of their own, and are simply written out eg., as Tyrn*Nimi/rel² (51.1 microNewtons).

Although the citizens of the community know how to use to metric system, we use the Imperial system by default. People here will have no trouble going to a country that uses metric, it's just that when we formed our own community we used what we grew up with.

Of course it does. It's the 21st century.

That said, some older people still occasionally use the imperial system, mainly for measuring heights and lengths.

Holmwoodiennes are not familiar of these "humanly" metric systems. Instead, we use our own metric system, which is called the Karpusi System. It was named after Heracles Karpusi (Car-poo-see, not Car-p*ssy), who is the one who founded it.

No laws restrict what measurement system companies or people can use, all though being an FT nation measurements are a little more wonky in Rani. Most people use a version of the metric system tailored to their planet so its not uncommon for there to be half a dozen measuring systems in play in major trade hubs. It is common practice however to convert any measurements of a product you plan to sell into Rani Metric, as every single measurement system is usually derived from Rani's version in the first place.

The metric system is the official system of measurement in the Empire. We don't worry ourselves with nonsense like inches, feet, yards, miles, pounds, fahrenheits and the like. All they are is cumbersome.
