The Kaderbian Coalition Marine Corps [Factbook]

Postby Kaderba » Mon Nov 16, 2009 10:58 pm

The Coalition Marines are an elite group of Infantry who are assigned the most dangerous and important tasks within the Coalition, the Marines are chosen from the ranks of the standard infantry who display loyalty to the Coalition's cause and determination to destroy anything in the way of their objective.

-Founding of the Marines-

In the year 132 ASE (After Sol Exodus), the Navy was just building it's strength up to protect it's borders within the Crimson Veil from outside influences, however standard Infantry proved to be insufficient outside the veil on Deep Space Patrols during boarding of enemy ships, Admiral Aleksandr Demidov, a veteran of the Borderworld Skirmishes saw the need to create an advanced group of Infantry that could better survive in Combat Situations where standard Infantry would not do.

Thus began the Kaderbian Coalition Marine Corps (KCMC), it started out as a small group of Veterans who proved themselves in the Borderworld Skirmishes, they became the "First Generation" of Marines, Admiral Demidov started to construct a installation in the Veil to house and provide training grounds for his new project, named Ufa Station, routinely he took the Marines to the ice world of Siberia for survival training and combat exercises in strained conditions, it proved quite effective and the first generation after years of service became instructors or retired, beginning the second generation of the Marines.

-Present Day-

Today the Marines serve as a symbol for the Kaderbian people, of their undying might and strength to push past the odds to achieve victory, the Marines are numbered in the millions now, able to take on almost any task set in-front of themselves, their training includes Light Armaments (Rifles, light Explosives, Pistols), Heavy Armaments (Shoulder-Mounted Anti-Air Rocket Launchers, Anti-Infantry Heavy Assault Combat Rifles, Demolitions), Handling of Fighter/Bombers, Recon Techniques, Advanced Hand-to-Hand Combat Training and Wilderness Survival Training.

The Marines are frantically loyal to the Coalition and any sign of rebellion or insurgency is brutally put down by these men and women.

-Standard Issue-

CM-12 Combat Armour.

Image

Details: This is the latest in the Marines defensive armour, Specially developed Titanium II Armour that stops most Slug-Throwing firearms and some forms of Energy Weaponry, however it is not without it's flaws, CM-12 Armour tends to feel more sluggish in frozen conditions, such as Siberian Weather, thus this Armour is not equipped for patrols on Siberia or in cold environments.

This is the standard Issue armour for Boarding Parties and Marines going to Temperate Planets and Desert Worlds due to it's internal cooling systems to make the marine feel more comfortable during combat.

TESLA-3 Combat Rifle

Image

Details: This is the standard issue Plasma Rifle of the Marines, it has a range of 1,000 Meters in optimal conditions, it's Power Cell contains enough energy for 200 Bolts, however the Rifle does not handle very well in humid environments, thus great care must be taken to ensure it's operation.

However due to the simplicity of it's construction and light weight it can be mass-produced quickly and efficiently with only 1 out of every 500 Rifles having a malfunction upon first use.

-Hunter Division-

Basic History: The Hunter Division is a relatively new sub-organization within the Marines, due to the increasing numbers of Force-Sensitives within the Coalition these men and women were created to maintain order and security when "relocating" these undesirables to the Penal World of Gobi in the Terminus system.

The "Hunters" sometimes "rehabilitate" Kaderbian Force-Sensitives through the liberal use of Mind-Altering Drugs and Implants that alter brain patterns to an Objective-Based Pattern which can be programmed by the Squad Commander, these Force-Sensitives are trained to sense the presence of other Force-Sensitives and are highly trained in close-quarters combat.

Primary Objective: Hunt Down Force-Sensitives, Kill or Capture said Sensitives and relocate them to Gobi

Secondary Objective: Purge the Galaxy of Force-Sensitives and Force-Users.

Squad Positions: Sniper, Seeker (Rehabilitated Force-Sensitive), Vipers (Usually the Squad Commander and an Assault Trooper)

Appearance: Hunter Squads tend to dress in Civilian Clothing to help themselves blend in with the local populations of the worlds they hunt on.

Coalition KHM Power Armour Unit

Image

[Image taken from Purge of Vilth 2]

Crew: 1 ( Power Armour Mech Pilot)

Size: 12 ft when standing

Armaments: Twin APA (Anti-Personnel armaments) Plasma Cannons, Twin AAP (Anti-Armour Pods)

Defenses: Titanium III Armour, Mark I Shield Generator

Operation : Electric/Hydraulic Hybrid

Short Manual (modified by veterans):

The Kaderbian Heavy Mech "Power Armour" is the latest in the Kaderbian Marine's arsenal, you are expected to have completed the mandatory Bipedal Combat Mechanical Armour Suit Training in basic and have practiced alongside an experienced operator for the first four weeks of active duty.

The KHM Unit is not designed for fighting within buildings, so don't get it into your heads that you can just crash into through a wall and start wasting everything in sight and leave without a hitch, it would require skilled hands and a keen mind to accomplish this so do not even try.

The KHM has many on-board features to assist the operator and ensure both their safety and its own. The main feature is an advanced self-repair system that allows the KHM to restore its armour strength any time it isn't actively sustaining further damage, coupled to an emergency mechanism that ejects the pilot if critical damage is sustained and refuses to allow him back inside until repairs have been made, this does not mean that your safe as can be, you are only as safe as you are a fighter outside of the armour so while it is repairing keep sharp and try not to get your head shot off by a sniper.

The KHM features a sophisticated Target Detection and Identification (TDID) system which is capable of evaluating and highlighting potential hostiles. Normal enemies are highlighted with an orange-bordered box, while a red-bordered box indicates a severe threat such as a missile launcher or another Mech. In addition, the suit is fitted with an FLIR (forward-looking infra-red) system for low-light or night operations, and a telescopic zoom function with a built-in range-finder for engagement of distant targets. Also the suit also visibly mounts a set of headlamps for illumination.

For dropping into hostile areas, the KHM can be configured to generate a protective barrier around its air-drop container that gives it the appearance of a descending meteor, and is able to fight almost instantaneously on landing. The KHM features two large lifting eyelets on its shoulders right above the rocket packs, showing ease of transport was a major concern in its design. The vehicle is fast for its size, and extremely mobile even over relatively difficult and uneven ground.

The APA Plasma Cannons are fast-firing low-damaging plasma bolts that are suitable against armoured infantry, however if you want to do any damage to armoured targets you will have to switch over to your AAP rockets, these unguided missiles will tear apart pretty much anything they hit,, their flight paths fired from the front tend to explode if they even graze a target, but stay as far away as you can when they blow, for the shockwave will cause your shields to flicker for a moment, allowing enemy fire in briefly before the generator resets itself and restores integrity.

Footnote- I recommend commandeering a MK II Shield Generator from your quartermaster when you can, they are more reliable and don't have that bloody shield glitch! Bloody cheap engineers...
