This is the only place where the Ancients still live, and this is where the first Martial Art (Néngyuán wānqū) was created and taught to Grand Master Gu (who was the first to learn the Five Elements of Martial Arts and the inventor of the Shengxiao Animal Styles).

There really isn't one you are an adult when you are conditered by others to be an adult. But many see getting a tattoo, Brand, or scarification to be a rite of passage of sorts.

The traditional rite of passage in Fatatatutti is participation in a pig hunt, though it is not universal any more. Many children consider a week in the bush with nothing but a loincloth and a knife as a suitable transition into adulthood.

Another traditional rite of passage is building a dugout canoe. The modern equivalent is building your own surfboard.

Since Fatatatutti has a very social society, these things are naturally done in groups.

First, all children are sort of just left in the wild areas of the planet. Roughly 20% are cannibalized by their littermates while 30% die of other causes, namely predation. 50% survive. Of those that survived until adolescence, only 20% will survive to adulthood. Those who do survive will have to get to a city or run the risk of going feral. Generally, 50% get to a city and 50% go feral. In total, 5% of Uramkorpers born will successfully reach adulthood. If all 100% survived, it is likely that the Uramkorper homeworld would run out of space within 5 generations.

This applies only to males. Females are all nonsapient, and will generally be nonviolently captured by hunting parties sent out specifically to gather them. Luckily, they are naturally inclined to accept this. If they were not, they could easily rip the hunting parties to pieces.

in order to fully graduate from school one must go to the ceremony and be blessed by a Priest. If you are not blessed you have not graduated no matter what the diploma says.

In order to become a soldier a boy must become a man even if he is too young, and that is by killing an innocent person usually a slave or political prisoner. The logic is if you can take an innocent persons life you are ready to do whatever it takes to ensure the enemy is dead, even if that means butchering civilians.

To become a Cop you are forced to execute a criminal.

Children are believed to come of age when allowed to wield arms and do battle in the military: before the age of 14 or 15 years, recruits to the army are used as trumpeteers, and are considered “children.” Children are typically considered to be under the supervision of a parent or guardian until they are 17 or even 20, however. Regardless, at 14 or 15 they are considered mature enough for romance and war, either of which are often considered one's 'rite of passage'.

There are several separate events that a Lyranian must go through before she will be considered an adult. The first is menarche, or erasanu. This involves a celebration, also called erasanu, held the first full moon after menarche. The challenge here is to give a speech before the assembled family and friends. Then there is reaching the age of majority, 21ye. or about 18 Galactic Standard Years. This isn't really that different from any other birthday party. At this point, a Lyranian has all the rights and responsibilities of an adult before the law. However, socially there are two more rites of passage left.

Military service comes next. Everyone serves one Lyranian year of eleven months (about 300 Galactic Standard Days) in either the Army or the Navy. Then, when she can afford the expense, a Lyranian will conceive and bear a child. Before that, most Lyranians will have gotten married, although that isn't strictly necessary in principle.

You are not considered to be fully adult until you have a child and have served in the military. Until then, you are seen as too immature for most purposes.

Child's first birthday- This comes from an era when only two out of every five babies would survive the first year of life. This is also the first time the parents publicly reveal the child's name and gender. (Babies are seen as genderless entities by society, and unless you are an immediate family member, you're not supposed to know the true sex or name of the child. Multiple births are allowed to have their initials publicly revealed, if only to differentiate between the children.) Naturally, this makes for a huge celebration.

First cup of tea- At around six years old, children are allowed to eat at the table with the rest of their family. But the first cup of tea (Proper tea, Not herbal) is considered the point at which a child reaches the age of reason. This is typically only celebrated amongst family members, who will at most photograph the occasion and give the child a special present.

20th Birthday- The age at which people can engage in sex, get married, Vote, purchase alcohol (there's no law against someone else buying for them) enroll in the police academy, gamble in casinos, run for political office, and all the other duties and responsibilities of a full-fledged Vudnian citizen. It's popular to hold a lavish "Tender twenty" parties where the entire town is invited.

All 13-year-olds are 'confirmed.' This can be a civil or religious ceremony depending on the parents' preference. On the National Day, all children who have turned 13 in the past year gather on the steps of the Queen's Palace and drink their first glass of uebl wine. They take the oath of citizenship for the first time, and are added to the registry of citizens. After this, they have the rights of adults, but cannot be tried as adults until they're 18, when another ceremony is performed.

More traditional Petrovians, on their 18th birthday, are to go hunting with one of their parents in the woods all day and kill a grizzly bear, so that the parent is a witness, and then they ascend to adulthood.

However, most Petrovians simply turn 18 and they become adults, much more simpler than hunting a bear in the woods.
