The Mallaskan National Police carries the WP-32A1 handgun, a 9x19mm Parabellum pistol made in Mallaska by the Monsi Firearms Company out of Chessex, Mallaska. It is issued to police with three 12-round magazines (One in the weapon), and can fit a multitude of attachments at the discretion of the officer. For units such the the Special Task Unit, the WP-32B1 is utilized, a .45 ACP variation of the WP-32A1.

Image

Along with the WP-32A1, standard officers are also equipped with a domestic variation of the 5.56x45mm AC-556, in turn an automatic version of the Ruger Mini-14. These rifles are issued with four 30-round magazines, carried in squad vehicles in racks like those of shotguns. The National Police does not issue shotguns as a standard, as a result of the need for a weapon with the ability to contend with well-armed organized crime groups which incite much of Mallaska's crime. Shotguns can be issued at request by the officer, however.

Image

In addition to these, each officer has a baton as well as standard pepper spray, and soft body armor with a ballistics plate, in its strongest place can resist 7.62x39mm, and 9x19mm on soft areas.

Though various police units use various firearms, here is a list of the most common firearms used by the collective whole of Spreewerkian police forces.

P-45C

Image

The P-45C is the fourth variation of the P-45 pistol. It fires from a single-stack, eight-round magazine, and is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum. It features a reinforced slide, as well as a reinforced frame. The take-down lever, slide catch, and safety have also been converted into ambidextrous controls, and the frame has been elongated with the addition of a Picatinny rail. The handgun is a DA/SA handgun, and decocks when the weapon is placed on safe. The weapon is not capable of being fired until returned to "fire," however: it is not a decocker, but a true hammer-drop safety. The sights are tri-dot with tritium inserts for low-light/no-light firing if a light is unavailable for the officer. It is loaded most frequently with 115gr. hollow-point ammunition.

P-68C

Image

The P-68C is the fourth variation of the P-68 service pistol. It fires from a single-stack, eight-round magazine, and is chambered in 7.62x25mm Tokarev. This particular model features an enhanced grip shape, improved hammer shape for manual cocking, snag-free tritium sights, flared ejection port, frame rail, and ambidextrous manual safety. The safety, however, is not quite as effective as most handgun safeties. Due to the original P-68 (surplus TT-33s from Puzikas) having no safety present, the designers in Spreewerke had to set out to design a safety system of their own. First introduced on the P-68B, the safety device serves to block the slide's rearward movement, and also the trigger's disengagement of the sear. However, due to a safety not being in its design, the sear safety has had reported instances of failure after having been worn from multiple uses. However, the safety itself also serves as a physical block of rearward movement by the slide. Thus, if an accidental/negligent discharge were to occur, the weapon itself would not cycle, and the firearm would then be rendered "dead" in the hand/holster. The fact the handgun is single-action-only can also serve as a safety. Due to the hole through the hammer, the user can insert a small tool or pin into the hammer with the support hand while pulling the trigger with the other: the hammer can then be manually lowered by the user onto a live round. The pistol utilizes the 7.62x25mm load, and is used most frequently by ASRT units who are faced with lightly armored suspects in shoot-out situations.

NOT SHOWN: P-85B triple-action handgun.

ASC-45B

Image

The ASC-45B is the third iteration of the ASC-45 sub-machinegun. Chambered in 7.62x39mm, firing at a rate of 900 rounds per minute, the ASC-45B is the ultimate CQB weapon in any police arsenal. Capable of defeating lower-level Kevlar vests, the ASC-45B is the primary SMG in use nationwide by various police forces. It feeds from either 30-round box magazines, or 71-round drum magazines based on the officer's preference. The sub-machinegun features a ten-inch shrouded barrel, a red dot standard, and a Picatinny rail at 12- and 6-o'clock positions for the addition of a weapon light, foregrip, etc. The carbine is also available in a specialized variant chambered in 6.35x33mm which is capable of penetrating all but the highest levels of body-armor in across-the-room distances.

AC-58DB

Image

With variants available in 6.35x33mm, 7.62x25mm, 7.62x39mm, 9x19mm, and 9x39mm, the AC-58DB is the main carbine of all police forces nationwide, and in many military units. With a rate of fire of 600 rounds per minute, control of the muzzle during even prolonged bursts is not overly difficult. Coming standard with a gas tube rail and cowitnessing (1/3) red dot optic, the AC-58DB is easily customizable and easily deployed in the urban environment. With rail space available for a laser or flashlight, the AC-58DB is very versatile. Caliber-depending, the carbine can come in a wide range of magazine sizes: anywhere from as few as five rounds to as many as 75 rounds (again, caliber depending). The weapon features a full-profile buttstock that is capable of being folded to the left-hand side, and is also outfitted with a dovetail optic mount on the left-hand side of the receiver as standard for use with NV devices or user-preferred optics.

NOT SHOWN: SK-45C side-fed carbine.

II-92

Image

The II-92 came at the request of the Puzak government in the early 1990s. After having developed a new, 4" 12 Gauge shell, the Puzak arms administration sought a shotgun that was capable of both handing and delivering the round reliably. Spreewerke submitted the II-92 with a reinforced receiver, adjustable gas port, side-folding stock, and threaded muzzle. Capable of firing the new 4" 12 Gauge shells, and previous 2.75" and 3.0" shells with specialized magazine adapters from the previously used model in Puzikas. The shotgun is capable of using both lethal and less-lethal ammunition reliably due to its adjustable gas port.

The various local Sheriffs offices issue what they will, so long as it includes a Class 3 rifle and a sidearm of at least .40 Caliber.

The National Police Force, however, which is responsible for highway patrol, city, and game warden duties, is issued the same weapons across the board.

The sidearm is the Taurus Judge in .45lc and .410 shotgun.

The rifle is the AK-74, in 5.45x39mm

The Shotgun is Officer provided,

and the less lethal option is the C2 Tazer.

The Vis wz. 35 is our standard police pistol.

Image

Plainclothes detectives and undercover agents carry the smaller and more concealable Walther PPK.

Image

Officers are also issued billy clubs or nightsticks and cavalry sabers.

Image

Image

Although they obviously do not patrol with them, police departments have access to submachine guns and sniper rifles for use during crisis situations. The most common submachine gun is the MP41 and the most common sniper rifle is a variant of the Mauser Gewehr 98.

Image

Image

There are also numerous less-than-lethal weapons for riot control. These include water cannons, pepper spray, tear gas, tasers/ stun-guns, rubber bullets, tranquilizer darts, flashbangs, electric cattle prods, and sticky foam. However, only the National Gendarmerie and police forces in large cities usually have access to riot control equipment.

Fordorsian police officers have access to the Military Reserve armouries and individuals can choose to use any small arms up to two weapons per officer including a primary weapon and a sidearm. The most common weapons chosen and used by officers include:

Service Rifle Mk.8

The standard service rifle for the Fordorsian Military.

Service Pistol Mk.4
Image

The standard service sidearm for the Fordorsian Military

Service Revolver Mk.2

Originally issued as the main sidearm for the Fordorsian Military, the Mk.2 stayed a favorite amongst police officers after it dropped out of military use.

Due to the lax laws in the empire towards guns, and gun ownership, most officers are required to carry a handgun on them at all possible times. However, in cases of nonviolent protests, are restricted from possessing firearms withing a 300 yard radius of the protesters. When on the beat, officers are issued a CentrArms M-42, though most police stations have extensive armories containing the latest in military approved hardware.

Police officers are armed with equipment present in the Imperial Armed Forces, starting with the IA&A ISP for standard officers. Every police car would be equipped with a IA&A TSG combat shotgun. Since crime is relatively low in the Principality of Romberg, heavier equipment is not issued to police units.

Military Police units are responsible for riot control, SWAT operations and law enforcement within the military, and apart from the ISP and TSG, they may also be equipped with the IA&A SMG submachine gun. Sniper teams would be equipped with the IA&A DMR semi-automatic rifle.

Other situations that would require even more firepower such as counterterrorism operations would require the usage of the military, with assault rifles, machine guns, grenade launchers and should the need ever come, rocket launchers.

Norpanian police usually don't carry guns, but keep a mix of Glock 17, Walther PPK and P38 in their cars when out at patrol, and must return to the nearest armoury to get heavier firepower. The armoury is often stocked with H&K Mp5 and UMPs if the department of that region is well funded, otherwise they might find old ex-military stuff like mp-40.

Swat teams have access to Mp5, UMP, AK-74 variants.
Police Snipers use AGK 3, a local G3 variant chambered in 6.5×55mm "Krag".

Civil Defence Rangers use the following weaponry when on patrol, or in extreme situations.

Image

Standard patrol weapon, fires pulse shards at a non-lethal velocity. Used to apprehend all manner of criminals and suspects

Image

Equivalent of a nightstick, taser and combat knife rolled into a single device. The M7 is frequently used by Rangers and even military personnel alike, due to it's robust design and ability to be used in a variety of situations

Image

Rarely used, but sometimes carried by Rangers or used in emergency situations. The Scythe is a unique Lemonian weapon, turning crystalline pulse shards into shrapnel, and propelling this towards the target at lethal velocity.

The vast majority of Makaarian police are not authorised to carry firearms. Authorisation to carry a firearm requires specialist firearms training and transfer into the Armed Response Unit; at any time, only around 2% of police officers are carrying a firearm. These officers respond only to incidents which require their specialist equipment or knowledge of firearms.

All police officers are issued with the 22-inch telescopic baton and a can of incapacitant spray. Some officers who have completed special training are also issued with tasers; approximately 8% of officers carry tasers routinely on duty (excluding those who are authorised to carry both a taser and a firearm).
