Your institutions do not meet civilized standards. You are barely fit to be called a nation, the people’s cooking smells like sweat-soaked socks, their art does not surpass what even the children of Vuzghulia’s peasantry routinely produce, your cars are ridiculed by the Vuzghul as silly contraptions, and as soon as a fashion becomes in style in your nation, it is frowned upon here. It would be a public service if someone invaded and taught your people civilized ways.

Your democratic abomination that you call a political system and your directionless stance on religious issues earn our scorn. The only thing to be said in your favor is that at least you try to restrain speculation in your economy and that you do not pose a threat to Vuzghulia at this time.

I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? Silica
How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? Mixed-Economy Democracy
What tech level is your nation? FT

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? Chancellor
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? Voted on amongst the Senate, by the Senate.
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? Same as above
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? The Chancellor makes most decisions based on the consent of the Senate.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? The citizen's can ask their Senator to vote for the impeachment of the Chancellor. The whole of the Senate would then vote to impeach him/her. The Vice-Chancellor would then take the Chancellor's place, or the Senate can vote for a replacement. Political parties are allowed, but not officially recognized by the State.
Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? There is no draft.
Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? Capital punishment is outlawed.

III. ECONOMICS

How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? The use of personal wealth to influence politics is illegal in Silica.
Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? The State mostly stays away from the financial market, but those accused of insider trading are punished with a large fine.
When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? No bankers have ever been executed.
Can the State arbitrarily seize property? No, only if the property owner has gone bankrupt, or if the property was abandoned.

I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? The Khroniktan Alliance
How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? Libertarian Constitutional Confederation (Capitalist)
What tech level is your nation? Fantasy/Future Tech

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? King Neodin Shadowslayer, High Lord of Arydia, Prophet of Leolik, High Priest of the Chosen, and Head of the Khroniktan Alliance
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? Unanimously elected by the Grand Council
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? Priest-King Neodin Shadowslayer was the ruler of Arydia before the forming of the Alliance. When the confederation was established, he was chosen to be the leader because of his age, wisdom, and close relationship to their deity.
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? He accepts the advisory of the Grand Council, but usually the final decision falls upon him. The Head holds one third of the voting power of the Council. If there is a tie, the Head can settle the vote, or the Council can override the Head's decision with a unanimous vote.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? The high government is heavily restrained by the Constitution in order to ensure it retains a specific set of responsibilities and powers.
Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? Each province recruits soldiers in its own way and contributes them to the Khroniktan Army. Arydia, for example, has an age bracket of twenty to fifty, among other guidelines of who can and cannot serve.
Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? Execution is reserved for the most serious or violent crimes, such as rape and murder. It is treated not as a punishment, but as a security measure for other citizens. As with all crimes, the accused must be tried and convicted by a committee of judges. In order to be convicted, there needs to be at least two witnesses. The consequence of perjury mirrors that of the accused, so if one is found to have lied in a trial that leads to execution, the punishment is death.

III. ECONOMICS
What institutions or members of social classes are the biggest property owners in your nation? Depends on the province. In Arydia, which operates as a feudal theocratic monarchy, the twelve royal families that rule over the individual counties control most of the property.
How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? A wealthy man can fund his own campaign for political office in a county, regional, or national council.
Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? Speculators?
When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? There are laws put into place that protect citizens from fraud and theft, but they do not call for execution. The consequence of such crimes is generally retribution of four fold. If the convict cannot pay the fine, then they are sentenced to forced labor until they pay it off or for seven years - whichever comes first.
Can the State arbitrarily seize property? Not without just compensation.
Are all people allowed to own all types of property, or are their restrictions based on class, race, sex, criminal record, etc? Land can be sold or traded freely until the Property and Debt Cycle ends, in which all property returns to the original owners.
What is the status of private, state, and collective property in your nation? All citizens are allowed to buy, sell, trade, and own property.

IV. RELIGION
Are there any official religions or official viewpoints about religious questions? Aryite Monotheism is universally accepted as a legitimate world view and religion, though Animism is also practiced and accepted.
What happens to those who hold a different point of view? Due to linguistic differences between the words "God" and "gods", most "gods" are recognized as significantly powerful beings, but not the one true over-ruling "God". Overall, it depends on what that view is. It may be accepted and even positively debated, but others may provoke anger.
If the religions of the majority prohibits a practice that would be convenient for your government in a situation, what does your government do when that situation arises (e.g. there is a famine and eating certain food is prohibited, but your military captures a giant stockpile of the forbidden food) ? Preservation of life takes first priority.
Does the State meddle in the affairs of the Church? Sometimes
Does the Church meddle in the affairs of the State? Yes

V. FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Who, if anyone, can interfere with your ruler's ability to carry out decisions of war or peace? The Grand Council, if the vote unanimously to counteract the Head's decision.
What are the biggest external threats to your nation right now? Barbarians bent on our complete destruction
What kind of strategies would you use in a war against that threat? Defend, then attack; feint retreats; hold at one location and strike at another; overwhelming force on a weak point... Basic military tactics.
What are your government's views on Vuzghulia? Generally positive.

When we saw that you described your system as "socialist democracy", we were afraid that this was another uncivilized nation or worse. But if this is the true face of socialism and democracy, we may have to re-evaluate our opinions on those subjects!

Here is our response, for your consideration.
I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? The Allied Clades of New Event Horizon.
How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? Ambient Intelligence Mediated Cyberdemocracy.
What tech level is your nation? FT.

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? A.R.C.H.E.N.G.E.L.
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? An A.R.C.H.E.N.G.E.L. doesn't rise to power. She adapts to the flow of opinions in the ideological sea of the NeuroNet.
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? See above.
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? She answers to the Technocratic Union and the entirety of the people. She isn't a traditional leader, after all.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? Due to the amount of micromanagement achieved by A.R.C.H.E.N.G.E.L we can operate with freedom, comfort, and efficiency.
Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? Our entire military was unmanned before being marginalized.
Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? There is no capital punishment.

III. ECONOMICS
What institutions or members of social classes are the biggest property owners in your nation? All property is collectively "owned".
How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? There is no currency to measure wealth. Post-scarcity and all.
Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? Nothing, since speculation has no place in our economy.
When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? There are exactly zero (0) bankers. There never were.
Can the State arbitrarily seize property? No.
Are all people allowed to own all types of property, or are their restrictions based on class, race, sex, criminal record, etc? All property is collectively "owned." It does not matter which of the six genders you are affiliated to, what section of the electromagnetic spectrum you skin identifies as, or any other perquisite.
What is the status of private, state, and collective property in your nation? All property is collective.

IV. RELIGION
Are there any official religions or official viewpoints about religious questions? Our official position is atheistic agnosticism.
What happens to those who hold a different point of view? Nothing. For the most part, they run screaming from the uplifted octomods.
If the religions of the majority prohibits a practice that would be convenient for your government in a situation, what does your government do when that situation arises (e.g. there is a famine and eating certain food is prohibited, but your military captures a giant stockpile of the forbidden food) ? N.A.
Does the State meddle in the affairs of the Church? What church?
Does the Church meddle in the affairs of the State? What state?

V. FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Who, if anyone, can interfere with your ruler's ability to carry out decisions of war or peace? Everyone part of the NeuroNet.
What are the biggest external threats to your nation right now? Space debris.
What kind of strategies would you use in a war against that threat? Moving out of the way.
What are your government's views on Vuzghulia? Like A.R.C.H.E.N.G.E.L. stated, if one cannot find any manner of criticism of constructive value, then politely decline an opinion.

There is nothing civilized about your “nation”. Though there are a lot of fancy words and high-minded ideals to provide intellectual cover for this travesty, in practice the whole nation is like a bunch of hippie soviets in which the women are held in common and men commit sexual acts with farm animals in broad daylight. In fact, it cannot even be called a nation, it is just a horde, and the whole ramshackle structure can be expected to collapse under its own degenerate weight soon. It is the duty of a civilized ruler to invade this land and enserf the people to protect them from themselves, for the people who built this dysfunctional system cannot be expected to do better in the future even if the current system implodes. We do not know why God put these people on the earth if not to perform unskilled manual labor for those who are more highly favored in His sight.

Your politics, economics, and lack of religious direction lead us to conclude that your nation is doomed to be a godless hellhole forever unless some enterprising prince of good morals takes military action. Of course, going into such a land is a burden that only the most generous and self-sacrificing and generous ruler would take on. Unfortunately, Vuzghulia is otherwise occupied, and we are not that generous at the moment anyway, since the Great King is not getting any younger.

I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? The Erebon Empire
How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? Communist Theocratic Dictatorship
What tech level is your nation? Fantasy Tech

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? Lord Narkaloxan, Voice of the Emperor, Dictator of Ereb Nataan, Regent of Tartaraz, and Captain of the Erebim
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? Chosen by the God-Emperor
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? He was chosen as the acting ruler by the God-Emperor.
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? Regent-Dictator Lord Narkaloxan is the highest authority besides the God-Emperor. His word is law.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? Rebellion is put down swiftly and without mercy. There is no room for insubordination in the God-Emperor's subjects.
Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? All able-bodied citizens are required to enlist into military service at age sixteen.
Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? Capital punishment is often carried out in the form of ritual sacrifice to the God-Emperor. It is the Imperial Priesthood that determines if an individual is guilty or not.

III. ECONOMICS
What institutions or members of social classes are the biggest property owners in your nation? Slavers, the priesthood, generals, and foremen.
How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? A wealthy slaver may buy the favor of the Imperial Priesthood, but as income and production are technically property of the Empire as a whole, bribery is moot.
Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? ((What is a speculator?))
When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? The closest thing we have to a banker is a tax collector, and the only time they are executed is when they are discovered to be skimming money from the State.
Can the State arbitrarily seize property? Yes.
Are all people allowed to own all types of property, or are their restrictions based on class, race, sex, criminal record, etc? Technically, all property belongs to the State, but the government can lease out or grant permission to private groups to use land for their purposes. Slaves and half-citizens cannot be delegated property.
What is the status of private, state, and collective property in your nation? All property, by default, belongs to the State, but can be delegated to the control of private groups.

IV. RELIGION
Are there any official religions or official viewpoints about religious questions? The Imperial Cult is mandatory for citizens of the Empire.
What happens to those who hold a different point of view? Bad things.
If the religions of the majority prohibits a practice that would be convenient for your government in a situation, what does your government do when that situation arises (e.g. there is a famine and eating certain food is prohibited, but your military captures a giant stockpile of the forbidden food) ? Well the government essentially is the Church, so that question is virtually moot.
Does the State meddle in the affairs of the Church? No.
Does the Church meddle in the affairs of the State? Yes.

V. FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Who, if anyone, can interfere with your ruler's ability to carry out decisions of war or peace? No one besides the God-Emperor.
What are the biggest external threats to your nation right now? We are the external threat!
What kind of strategies would you use in a war against that threat? Hit-and-runs, scare tactics, overwhelming numbers.
What are your government's views on Vuzghulia? Neutral for the moment. Only time will tell.

I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? The Legion of War

How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? Socialist dictatorship, but businesses are not state owned of anything like that. There's just a lot of leftist things like welfare, rehab, and free medical care.

What tech level is your nation? Future Tech

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? "War", somebody who can be the nation's face during the dark times of war.

In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? Be the chosen succesor of the previous leader. At least now it is.

In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? Won an election. This WAS typical of previous rulers.

Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? The leader has the ultimate day in anything.

If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? If it was widespread, the government would silence the leaders of the movement, through bribes, blackmail, or death. This is only because if it causes unrest. Most citizens like the government.

Not much could hold back the government.

Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? There is a draft, and it's not easy to avoid if you've been chosen.

Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? There is no capital punishment.

III. ECONOMICS
What institutions or members of social classes are the biggest property owners in your nation? Large businesses, people with money, the State.

How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? They'd have to get involved in politics and actually know what they're talking about once in politics. Politicians are required to have actual knowledge on what they tall about. For example, the finance minister should have a business/economics background, the defence minister should have served at some point, etc.

In other words, they'd do it like anyone else. The government wants knowledgeable people. Your money isn't worth anything if you're an idiot.

Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? Speculators can speculate all they want until they start causing civil unrest.

When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? Bankers have never been executed, so there are many bankers left.

Can the State arbitrarily seize property?
The law states that property can only be seized to build something that benefits the people, such as a hospital. Only the leader can go above this, which rarely happens.

Are all people allowed to own all types of property, or are their restrictions based on class, race, sex, criminal record, etc?All are allowed to own all types of property. Those with criminal records are watched carefully though.

What is the status of private, state, and collective property in your nation?
All citizens are allowed to buy, trade, and sell property. The State's property (e.g. Government offices, embassies, etc) cannot by bought by citizens.

IV. RELIGION
Are there any official religions or official viewpoints about religious questions? All religions are accepted, with the exception of those that have a deity that wishes Humanity's destruction, downfall, etc. Certain practices are also banned such as human sacrifices.

What happens to those who hold a different point of view? They are generally taken to rehab to attempt to convince them that their diety does not wish them well, or at the very least convince them to not practice it. Cults that do things such as human sacrifices are put in jail.

If the religions of the majority prohibits a practice that would be convenient for your government in a situation, what does your government do when that situation arises (e.g. there is a famine and eating certain food is prohibited, but your military captures a giant stockpile of the forbidden food) ? Alternatives are sought out, but if there is none it is up to the citizens to decide what to do. Take it or leave it.

The exception is the military. Those who do not wish to kill are given non-combat roles, or placed in the reserves, or placed in areas that may not see conflict. But when push comes to shove, they'll have to fire their weapon or be accused of treason.

Does the State meddle in the affairs of the Church? Only if it promotes values that are destructive towards Humans.

Does the Church meddle in the affairs of the State? No

V. FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Who, if anyone, can interfere with your ruler's ability to carry out decisions of war or peace? The leader has the ultimate say.

What are the biggest external threats to your nation right now? Xeno (Alien) aggression. The entire nation has been engineered to be ready and capable of fighting of any potiential alien threats. After a geonocidal war against Humanity, nobody is willing to trust Xenos. This is how the current government rose to power, by playing on the people's fear of Xenos.

What kind of strategies would you use in a war against that threat? Maneuverer warfare (or as dose as you get to it in space), naval superiority in terms of tactics and numbers, hit hard and hit fast.

What are your government's views on Vuzghulia?

A nation not nearly has advanced as ours, one that sticks to outdated models of government. Using religion as an effective tool of governance, the Legion believes that leaders must unite their people with something real and not simply because of a claim to divine right.

The views on political freedoms are similar however, but we suspect it is for different reasons.

I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? Las Brisas
How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? Democratic socialist constitutional governate
What tech level is your nation? MT

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? Governor
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? Our governor is elected through a complex system of cumulative voting in which voter's votes are calculated based on region/city, then through Parliament seats for both Senate and Congress (the names of the two sections of the bicameral legislature)
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? Our Governor rose to their position like all others before them.
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? Part of the Governor's job is to listen to the citizens and public institutions. Citizens and institutions have a major say in the Brisenian government. So much of a say, in fact, that they can form a new government with a 79% vote.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? If there is a question of the Governor's legitimacy, the case is taken to an International Court to be dealt with by neutral parties. The State cannot stop any of this, and the Court's verdict is final. Our State is not seen as being hindered by bureaucracy, independent court systems, political parties, or other institutions. In fact, bureaucracy and political parties have worked well for Las Brisas, ending the terrible Nine Hundred Years War.
Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? Our nation has no military. If there was ever a crisis, the police officers, who have been trained for combat in preparation for the need, if it ever should arise, would fight for your nation. Currently, there is no system set up for a draft, but if the public quorum were to request it, it would be put in place.
Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? Capital punishment was seen as one of the many flaws of the Old Government that served during the Nine Hundred Years War, along with the inability of the public to intervene in government. Therefore, it has been banned unless if a quorum reinstates it.

III. ECONOMICS
What institutions or members of social classes are the biggest property owners in your nation? Because of the attitude over wealth in Las Brisas, wealthy people often do not buy large and fancy homes, instead resorting to apartment buildings and other things. In fact, the biggest property owners are actually the lower class (304926 £ - 711494 £ (one pound is worth approximately $10)), because the neighbourhoods deemed "lower class" have a lower cost per square metre.
How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? A wealthy man cannot turn his money into power. The Bureau of Political Transparency makes sure of this.
Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? Not at all.
When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? Las Brisas is filled with banks. All banks are privately owned, except for the Bank Brisenia, our national bank.
Can the State arbitrarily seize property? The State cannot seize property unless if it has been deemed by the citizens for a good cause.
Are all people allowed to own all types of property, or are their restrictions based on class, race, sex, criminal record, etc? No restrictions are labeled upon people based on anything.
What is the status of private, state, and collective property in your nation? Most property is private, only government institutions are public, and parks and shopping centres are collective.

IV. RELIGION
Are there any official religions or official viewpoints about religious questions? No.
What happens to those who hold a different point of view? There is no view, so nothing.
If the religions of the majority prohibits a practice that would be convenient for your government in a situation, what does your government do when that situation arises (e.g. there is a famine and eating certain food is prohibited, but your military captures a giant stockpile of the forbidden food)? Those with religious afflictions are allowed to abstain from anything, except for vaccinations.
Does the State meddle in the affairs of the Church? No.
Does the Church meddle in the affairs of the State? No.

V. FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Who, if anyone, can interfere with your ruler's ability to carry out decisions of war or peace? No one.
What are the biggest external threats to your nation right now? Nothing. We are in a time of peace.
What kind of strategies would you use in a war against that threat? There is no threat, so there are no strategies.
What are your government's views on Vuzghulia? Our views of Vuzghulia, like other nations, are positive until Las Brisas is provoked.

Postby Zokoria » Mon May 27, 2013 12:15 am

I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? The Norsefire Republic of Zokoria
How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? Conservative capitalist republic
What tech level is your nation? MT

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? Supreme Leader
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? When our leader dies, the Speaker of the Overhuset (Upper House) becomes the interim leader of Zokoria. Otherwise, a new leader may be chosen (through elections) if a political party has the most seats in the Folkparlamentet (Parliament).
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? He rose to power through a non-violent coup 14 years ago, and it is quite unusual for a Zokorian leader to do so, given that our past leaders were elected by the people.
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? Our leader serves his people with great care, however, his political power is quite absolute enough.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? The leader cannot be impeached since 1999, although there have been attempts by communist forces outside of Zokoria to impeach him.
Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? We have a compulsory draft since 1999, and all males aged 16 and up are required to partake in military service, whether in times of war or not.
Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? The death penalty is legal in Zokoria, and it is used for the most severe of crimes. There are no limits on the death penalty, so that's why teenagers and people with mental and physical disorders can be executed.

III. ECONOMICS
What institutions or members of social classes are the biggest property owners in your nation? Large corporations, rich businessmen, and small businesses.
How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? Some businessmen run for political positions, while others donate huge sums of money to the Norsefire Party.
Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? None
When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? We haven't executed any banker yet, and they are generally respected.
Can the State arbitrarily seize property? Yes, for some reasons.
Are all people allowed to own all types of property, or are their restrictions based on class, race, sex, criminal record, etc? Yes, but criminals, leftists, homosexuals, and other undesirable people have greater restrictions on owning all types of property.
What is the status of private, state, and collective property in your nation? Almost all property in Zokoria are private, with a few state properties. Collective property is nonexistent.

IV. RELIGION
Are there any official religions or official viewpoints about religious questions? Although the Lutheran Catholic Church is the (de facto) state religion of Zokoria, people can still be members of other denominations of Christianity, and religions other than Christianity (excluding atheism, agnosticism, cult religions)
What happens to those who hold a different point of view? To other Christians and non-Christians (excluding atheism, agnosticism, and members cult religions), they are tolerated. To atheists, agnostics, and members of cult religions, they are usually persecuted by the authorities.
If the religions of the majority prohibits a practice that would be convenient for your government in a situation, what does your government do when that situation arises (e.g. there is a famine and eating certain food is prohibited, but your military captures a giant stockpile of the forbidden food)? Our largest religion does not prohibit certain kinds of food, however, when someone captures a stockpile of alcoholic beverages and cigarettes, they are confiscated, fined, and arrested.
Does the State meddle in the affairs of the Church? Nothing at all!
Does the Church meddle in the affairs of the State? Mostly.

V. FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Who, if anyone, can interfere with your ruler's ability to carry out decisions of war or peace? The Parliament has the right to declare war.
What are the biggest external threats to your nation right now? The communist homosexual terrorists, mostly coming from Namor and Iglesiantis.
What kind of strategies would you use in a war against that threat? Any means that are deemed necessary, particularly prevention and deterrence.
What are your government's views on Vuzghulia? Neutral

Given that we have no objection to our WA rankings in any categories, we will be interested to hear what the Vuzghuls make of us.

I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? The Imperial Commonwealth of Libraria and Ausitoria
How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? Liberal capitalist interventionist democracy
What tech level is your nation? MT approaching PMT with underdeveloped and not properly understood trans-dimensional travel between fractal realities.

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? The House of Commons and Assembly.
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? As decided by the House of Commons and Assembly.
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? Partly open election by the people, partly selection by Parliament; very typical. Originally, Parliament just decided they were in charge on behalf of everyone, and nobody was silly enough to say they weren't.
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? Yes, to the people; totally, they infrequently elect members to the House of Commons and Assembly and the House of Commons and Assembly rules the nation on their behalf. Fortunately the people are wise enough not to try to interfere too directly, and in exchange the House of Commons and Assembly doesn't interfere in their lives too directly. Except to stop them from killing/robbing each other, and to make the people richer so it can tax more. Parliament is extremely good at doing both of those things.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? The state would be supported in its efforts by all institutions/practices mentioned above.
Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? No, no, probably impossible.
Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? Yes, de-jure, for acts of high treason, but also no, de-jure, by legal convention - nobody has been executed for at least thirty years and the Judges have decided it's been de-jure de-facto written off the law books and Parliament hasn't disagreed with this interpretation.

III. ECONOMICS
What institutions or members of social classes are the biggest property owners in your nation? Wealthy property owners. Most of them tend to be aristocrats, but that's because they become aristocrats when they get wealthy not the other way round.
How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? Media, advertisements, etc; which dominates the people. However, since Parliament is not particularly good at following the opinion of the people when they see the machinations of greedy individualists, they change the opinion of the people back. This means wealth doesn't translate into much political influence or power.
Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? No. We do maintain a reserve bank so the speculators can't crash the economy unless the economy is actually crashing (which is uncommon). And nor can they make a boom unless the economy is actually booming (which is common).
When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? Last century, and he was executed for high treason, not for being a banker. There are plenty of bankers left, which is good, as there's nothing so fun for a government as collecting tax.
Can the State arbitrarily seize property? Yes, provided that it provides fair compensation, fair notice, and does so after fair consideration of local views.
Are all people allowed to own all types of property, or are their restrictions based on class, race, sex, criminal record, etc? No restrictions, except that the owning of slaves and damaging substances is illegal. (By a quirk of law, owning the right to buy and sell slaves or damaging substances is legal; and indeed rights to buy slaves or damaging substances are useful inflation-proof assets).
What is the status of private, state, and collective property in your nation?
Private, state, and collective property, owned by the owners, and under the state's jurisdiction.

IV. RELIGION
Are there any official religions or official viewpoints about religious questions? Yes. Several, but entirely focused around morals and psychiatry.
What happens to those who hold a different point of view? Nothing.
If the religions of the majority prohibits a practice that would be convenient for your government in a situation, what does your government do when that situation arises (e.g. there is a famine and eating certain food is prohibited, but your military captures a giant stockpile of the forbidden food) ? We'd do everything to protect the rights of our citizens that they wanted as long as it didn't infringe upon other person's rights, and if it did infringe upon other person's rights, we'd do something else. (E.g. in that situation we'd sell the food on the market in exchange for food they did want, we're not idiots).
Does the State meddle in the affairs of the Church? The State owns the national Church, which serves as a basic unit of local government, providing community welfare and supporting culture, particularly with regards to church music.
Does the Church meddle in the affairs of the State? No.

V. FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Who, if anyone, can interfere with your ruler's ability to carry out decisions of war or peace? No-one, but they are excellent at taking advice. They are also fairly good at ignoring most of it.
What are the biggest external threats to your nation right now? Probably global warming or nuclear winter.
What kind of strategies would you use in a war against that threat? They're not exactly the sort of things that wars solve much, but we do undertake our fair share of liberal interventions to increase the number of like-minded nations.
What are your government's views on Vuzghulia? Needs more rights. Anybody got a few legal advisers, law enforcement officials, tanks, and aircraft carriers handy?

How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? A mixed economy with a representative democracy.
What tech level is your nation? Modern Tech

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? President
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? By being elected.
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? By being elected, this has always been the case.
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? The President is over ruled by Parliament. The Parliament have the official power. The judicial branch can prevent unconstitutional laws/bills etc. from being enacted.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? A re-election could be called, or the infringing parties would be stripped of their title and face criminal charges.

I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? Chelta
How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? Capitalist parliamentary democracy?
What tech level is your nation? Modern Tech

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? We have a Queen (head of state) and a Prime Minister (head of government)
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? The monarch is hereditary. The Prime Minister is appointed by the Queen after a general election if his party wins the majority of seats in the lower house.
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? Both rose to power in the normal way...
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? The Queen answers to Parliament. The Prime Minister answers both to Parliament and his party, and to the Queen (it is Her Majesty's Government after all). The Queen does not take any active role in the governance of the nation; she wields the actual authority of government but she only exercises it on the advice of the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister is the head of government and so directs government policy. No laws can be made, or taxes levied, or public money appropriated, without consent of Parliament, however.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? If a monarch went rogue and stepped outside the bounds of their constitutional power (as opposed to their legal power, which is vast), Parliament may depose the monarch without requiring the royal assent and raise another member of the royal family to the throne. If a Prime Minister went rogue, or "lost the confidence" of the House of Commons, then the House of Commons would pass a motion of no confidence against the government, which would trigger an election or force the Prime Minister to resign. If a rogue Prime Minister could not be dismissed by the ordinary means, then it is within the Queen's authority to dismiss him.
Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? We do have 18 months' National Service for school-leavers, but conscripts cannot be called up to fight in armed conflicts abroad, although this can be changed by Parliament if necessary. The duration of National Service can be reduced if you have been accepted to study in certain important industries. Conscientious objectors may serve in the civilian service, which is non-military service.
Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? Yes there is capital punishment for the most serious offences. In Chelta convicted persons' sentences are decided by the jury, so a person will not be made to face the death penalty unless a jury decides it is appropriate.

III. ECONOMICS
What institutions or members of social classes are the biggest property owners in your nation? The middle class
How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? There are no limits on political party donations, but all donations above £1000 must be made public so any corrupt behaviour can be easily exposed.
Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? Not at this time
When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? Bankers are not executed unless a jury finds they have committed a capital offence
Can the State arbitrarily seize property? No
Are all people allowed to own all types of property, or are their restrictions based on class, race, sex, criminal record, etc? Yes
What is the status of private, state, and collective property in your nation? Private property is protected by law, as is state property (e.g. public land). There are not many communes in Chelta but if people want to collectively own property then the law also recognises and protects that as well.

IV. RELIGION
Are there any official religions or official viewpoints about religious questions? The Church of Chelta is the established church, which professes a broad Protestantism
What happens to those who hold a different point of view? Nothing, freedom of religion is upheld
If the religions of the majority prohibits a practice that would be convenient for your government in a situation, what does your government do when that situation arises (e.g. there is a famine and eating certain food is prohibited, but your military captures a giant stockpile of the forbidden food) ? If it is patently immoral the government will not do it, but it really depends on the situation
Does the State meddle in the affairs of the Church? The state "supervises" the affairs of the Church of Chelta, the established church. One intervention of the state in the Church of Chelta is that the Queen appoints the Archbishop of Monmouth, the most senior bishop in the Church, on the advice of the Prime Minister.
Does the Church meddle in the affairs of the State? The Church of Chelta, and indeed other churches and religions, engage in dialogue with society and the political leaders about political issues. It is not "meddling" as such, but engagement.

V. FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Who, if anyone, can interfere with your ruler's ability to carry out decisions of war or peace? Parliament must approve foreign policy decisions of the government, especially decisions of war and peace.
What are the biggest external threats to your nation right now? International terrorism and invasion from nations we are currently at war with in the Levant War.
What kind of strategies would you use in a war against that threat? All the usual stuff
What are your government's views on Vuzghulia? Eccentric but charming

I. BASIC INFORMATION
By what name should I call your nation? The Unified Federation of Rejistania
How would you describe your nation's system (capitalist democracy, socialist dictatorship, etc.)? free-market, federalist, decentral, representative democracy
What tech level is your nation? MT/FanT

II. POLITICS
What is the title of the ruler of your nation? Ruler? There are 3 people who are in charge of the nation at any given time. Together, they are called the Kenlentine Mje'het. Individually: their titles are Lentine Mje'he Tani, Lentine Mje'he Nanti and Lentine Mje'he Rekijo.
In theory, how is your ruler supposed to rise to power? Through election in the respective parliament.
In practice, how did your ruler rise to power? Is this typical of past rulers of your nation? With the exception that these elections sometimes are close to devolving into a brawl, yes.
Does your ruler answer to other people or institutions? To what extent can they interfere with the governance of the nation? Yes, yes. The leaders have mostly representative function. Most of how the government is run is handled by the parliaments and even the people can use a popular veto against new laws.
If citizens of your nation called into question the ruler's legitimacy, what steps would the State take to limit the damage? To what extent would the State be hindered or restrained in its efforts by bureaucracy, independent court systems, legality of political parties, or other similar institutions/practices? Given the imperative mandates, there have been leaders called back for neglecting the affairs of the rekijo they were chosen to represent.
Does your nation have the military draft, or does the system make it easy to introduce it in times of crisis? Once introduced, how easy is it to avoid? No draft here. In a situation of a national crises, the kenlentine'het could introduce a draft, but the emergency status rules do have a maximal time of validity.
Is there capital punishment, and what obstacles are there to its exercise (rights of the accused, political controversy of the death penalty, etc.)? No capital punishment.

III. ECONOMICS
What institutions or members of social classes are the biggest property owners in your nation? The temples own the most property.
How does a wealthy man go about turning his wealth into political influence or power in your nation? How easy is it for them to do this? Difficult. the strategy would be to use it to influence the population into endorsing certain positions or financing a campaign to run for office
Does the State make efforts to prevent or punish speculators? We let them fall hard. No bailouts or the like here.
When was the last time a banker was executed? Do you have many bankers left? No capital punishment. Banking itself is not really seen as a bad thing in the 'tani.
Can the State arbitrarily seize property? under very limited circumstances
Are all people allowed to own all types of property, or are their restrictions based on class, race, sex, criminal record, etc? guns are restricted to those without criminal background.
What is the status of private, state, and collective property in your nation? A lot of property which would be expected to be private is collective in Rejistania: the houses of people often belong to the clan, not the persons themselves. The state owns the infrastructure and most other things are privately owned.

IV. RELIGION
Are there any official religions or official viewpoints about religious questions? The official viewpoint is laicism
What happens to those who hold a different point of view? those who want religious interference in the government are free to campaign
If the religions of the majority prohibits a practice that would be convenient for your government in a situation, what does your government do when that situation arises (e.g. there is a famine and eating certain food is prohibited, but your military captures a giant stockpile of the forbidden food) ? I guess it would officially be undocumented and unofficially distributed.
Does the State meddle in the affairs of the Church? Yes, in case of practices against human rights (child sacrifices for example, if an adult wants to sacrifice him/herself that is another matter)
Does the Church meddle in the affairs of the State? Religious viewpoints do affect the law, but the Temple is too fragmented to interfere

V. FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Who, if anyone, can interfere with your ruler's ability to carry out decisions of war or peace? You cannot declare war or agree on a peace treaty without the Naiken'het lentine tani supporting it
What are the biggest external threats to your nation right now? none really
What kind of strategies would you use in a war against that threat? n/a
What are your government's views on Vuzghulia? Capital punishment is not compatible with XkeLiKo, the rejistanian ideology. Also having it for verbal utterances is something we stricly disapprove
