Civil Unrest in Severslavya continues

The Marshall Administration issued a Federal Directive advising civilians visiting or living in the Republic of Severslavya to leave the country as soon as humanly possible. The area has recently seen an uptick in violence over the past few weeks and the State Department only expects the situation to continue to deteriorate in the coming months.

A Spokesperson for the State Department has said that ''in the event of an escalation of the violence in the region, the Republic would be unlikely in intervene, unless Gaverian Citizens were in immediate danger''. Key political analysts are predicting the situation to escalate into a full blown civil war in the coming months.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Severslavya, it is a small nation located in the Pacific with a population of just under six million individuals. The nation is known for it's compulsory military service and large soda pop manufacturing sector. The nation has been characterized by it's extremely pro-corporate government and increasing apathetic population in regards to the actions of it's leaders, despite being a republic.

In the last few months however the nation's youth have become increasing adamant in demanding a change in the nature and attitude of the Republic's leaders. The government responded rather heavy handily, which resulted in several civilian deaths as well as a large scale mutiny by the military units responding to the nationwide protests.

Congress Approves 4.7 Trillion Defense Bill

Today the Congress of the Allied States has approved former Proposition #464 which is now being called the Security Act of 2013 which in it current form will make available for the next ten years more than 4.7 Trillion Zollars for the Defense Department and it's contractors.

The proposition was introduced to the floor by Congressman Thomas Hagen(F) of Ouros, with the stated intention to ensure that the Allied States Defense Force and it's associated parts will continue to stay on the cutting edge of modern technology and warfare as well as allow that body to adopt to eminent policy changes which will see it's role change and evolve.

While the majority of the funds will not be available until 2017 over 1.9 Trillion will become available as soon as President Marshall signs the bill into law tomorrow morning. President Marshall is a well-known supporter of Congressman Thomas Hagen(F) as well as the Security Act and was one of the first politicians to advocate for increased defense spending in light of the Government's increased international role as well as the changing nature of modern warfare.

In the past five years of the Marshall Administration the Republic has seen a increase in terror attacks domestically as well as abroad in addition to a record number of deployments overseas in conjunction with NATO forces and various humanitarian missions, several of which have controversially resulted in the injury or deaths of Republican soldiers.

The Bill is a major win for the resurgent Federalist Party and will likely be a factor in the 2014 Presidential elections were Marshall is a expected to run again for a second consecutive term.

Eduardo Snow leaks classified political cables


Cheyanne,DE Former government Intelligence Contractor and Political attache, Eduardo Snow has leaked key government cables that he obtained during his time a government attache to Senator William Porter(F) who is the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Commitee.

The cables reveal that the Joint Intelligence Service, the Republics premier Foreign Intelligence Gathering body has been used to domestically and has been sanctioned by members of Congress to intercept,edit and otherwise spy and influence Gaverian Citizens and politicians for political and Economic gain of key members of the Marshall Administration.

In one particular communique leaked by Mr.Snow, Senator Porter dispatched several members of the JIA's Special Operations Division to intimidate or otherwise coerce, a reporter into revealing information that was later utilized to blackmail one of Mr.Porter's political rivals and opponent on the controversial Public Communications Bill which if passed will give the JIA the explicit authority to monitor public communications on a broad scale.

The leak by Mr.Snow is history in the making for a regime and nation that has remained impervious to leaks and security breaches of the type that have plagued it's neighbors. While Mr.Snow's whereabouts are unknown at the time, his lawyers are working day and night to facilitate his return to the Republic as well as to ensure that he will not be prosecuted by a court of law for treason.

The Federal Prosecutors office has announced that it will not be pursuing charges against Senator Porter or several other individuals exposed in the Cable leaks on the advise of key members of the Presidential staff.

Many citizens are outraged that the government has been allowed to use the state's security and intelligence apparatus for personal gain and are calling for stricter punishment and enforcement of corruption laws, particularly the Bradley Act which addresses this situation specifically.

Mr.Snow himself is currently wanted by the Federal Security Bureau for questioning in relation to several Intelligence leaks which may have compromised security personnel in the field.
