PINYIN TO REPLACE SIMPLIFIED IN THE LIBERATOR'S CHINESE EDITION
As transition continues, the media pitches in as well

February 16, 2013 (2353)

The Liberator's Chinese Edition, known in Chinese as the Jiě Fàng Bào (解放报), will officially switch all of its text from Simplified Chinese to Hanyu Pinyin effective February 20. 2013, amid the recent Central Council decision to set a deadline for nationwide public institutions to switch to Pinyin.

Of course, other newspapers that have Chinese editions, along with newspapers that are only in Chinese, will also be setting up dates to switch to Pinyin.

Other media outlets, including those closely linked with the Ministry of Communications, will also be switching to Pinyin at different dates, as long as they do so before May Day comes.

NCTV-华语, the Chinese-language channel of Namor Central Television, will switch to NCTV-Huáyǔ, in its Pinyin form. Its newscasts, news tickers and commercials will also switch to Pinyin form. NCTV's daily sign-ons, which currently display the words "NAMOR CENTRAL TELEVISION" in Geadish, Luziycan, Norwegian, Chorean, Chinese, French and finally English, will cease identifying the Chinese identification as "纳摩尔中央电视台," but as "Nà mó'ěr Zhōngyāng Diànshìtái," in Hanyu Pinyin.
Image
Newspapers sold in Namor in Simplified Chinese
will be guaranteed a safe transition to Pinyin
by May Day.

Chinese-speaking (Sinophone) Namorese have expressed their support for this transition, whilst the older generation, who were taught either traditional or simplified Chinese from childhood, were more reluctant.

"I support it," said Dongyang resident Fang Chenli, 33, in a telephone interview with the Liberator, "Lu Xun once said that China will collapse if we don't romanize our language. I congratulate Namor for transitioning into Pinyin, and I urge Taiwan and mainland China, and all Chinese-speaking communities elsewhere to do the same."

While critics have pointed out that such a media transition that will last until May Day was unsafe, and would greatly affect elder Chinese who know little to no Pinyin, the Ministry of Communications say that they have done preparations.

"We won't leave the elder generation of Sinophone speakers and writers behind," stated the Ministry in an online statement yesterday, "The government has already approved a R3.5 million package for us to use to provide neccessary education for these people for them to learn Pinyin."

The Ministry also rebutted the critics' claims that Pinyin was harder than learning Simplified or Traditional Chinese, stating that Pinyin "looks better" on newspapers than orthodox Chinese script, and it's also easier, because "it simplifies an ancient language into 26 simple alphabetical letters."

Of course, the only media outlets that wouldn't be affected by this transition would be radio, due to the fact that you couldn't really see radio broadcasting, so there wouldn't be any change; however, radio stations nationwide would have to replace Simplified with Pinyin in their websites, that is, if their websites have a Chinese page.

Sounds like a neat transition. Here we've been writing in Pinyin since the 1950s so I don't think it really matters.

This is indeed a great transition. Chinese, like all other languages, should be romanized if their people wanna catch up with the modernized world. Now with Pinyin, it'll be easier for me to learn Chinese! YAY!

The Chinese language is known for its varied characters. It's been there for over 5000 years, and you revisionist geezers wanna replace it with 26 boring letters? BE MY GUEST! D:<<<<

CHO PYONG-CHONG DIES
Iron-Fist Dictator leaves behind instable police state

February 17, 2013 (2353)

CHO MAXIMUS CITY--After days of secrecy within its ranks, the ruling party of East Chorea confirmed that East Chorea's longtime dictator, Cho Pyong-chong, son of the dictator Cho Maximus, had died while boarding a biplane headed for his next field inspection tour.
Image
Is East Chorea headed for regime collapse?

This was unexpected news, as many reliable reports done by East Chorean and independent authorities say that the Supreme Leader was in good health. Experts suggest that Cho had died an unexpected, accidental death, but do not know more about the specifics. The Chorean Revolutionary Party was unavailable for questions regarding so.

Cho's death marks a new chapter in the history of the East Chorean regime, as it is expected that, unlike when his father passed away in 1995, the regime might be in for a mass destabilization and inner power struggle, which could lead to many possibilities, regime collapse being inclusive.

East Chorea experts say that when Maximus died, preparations had already been made, for his son Pyong-chong to be the next leader. This had already been signaled in 1989, when Maximus chose Pyong-chong to become Premier. Therefore, despite all the economic difficulties, the regime was able to survive through political suppression of opponents and the new leader's broad knowledge of politics, which helped him keep an eye over his regime as well as exercise absolute control over his people.

In 2010, Cho Pyong-chong also chose his relatively young son, Cho Ding-pin, as Premier, showing that he is a certain candidate of succession, but such, experts claim, is not going to guarantee a smooth transition.

"Ding-pin does not know as much politics as his father or his grandfather," said Professor Harris Green in Olachoo, "Therefore, it is most likely that he will put one of East Chorea's top generals to run the country in his name, signalising a de facto end to the Cho Dynasty's rule, and the start of an absolute military junta."

Which is a grave problem, Green points out, as the top generals within the Chorean Red Army have had a history of inner power struggle, and, "if not observed carefully, could lead to armed conflict."

The Namorese Ministry of Chorean Affairs has yet to comment on this situation. A response will come in a few hours.

PRESIDENT SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER 755
Mandates that Jahisticism be tolerated nationwide

February 19, 2013 (2353)

NAMO---The Yunglang Antelope National Library in Namo, the country's largest library, was holding a reception today, where President-General Jamin Chen, accompanied by Vice President Txo Antelope; Minister of Communications Adam Anderson and head of the Jahistic Libertarian Party of Namor, Kim Myung-Bak, signed Executive Order 755, mandating that the whole country tolerate Jahisticism (Jarrod Thuman Thought) and lift all restrictions place on Jahisticist media, literature and other related works.
Image
Effective immediately, the Hourglass
Symbol shall enjoy the same opportunities
and rights as the Hammer and Sickle
and the Star of Unity.

Chen explained why he did so during the reception.

He said that after Namor and the Jahistic Unified Republic (JUR) normalized relations, and after personal examination of the Firebrand (the JUR's official party newspaper) as well as the "Gold Book" (known within the JUR as On the Official Party Ideology), that restrictions caused by the Subversive Media Act of 1951 was unneccessary, as far as Thuman-leaning literature and works are concerned.

"Namor must realize that Jahisticism serves NO absolute threat to us, as opposed to Callahanism or Nazism," he told everyone at the reception, "Therefore, it should deserve equal tolerance as Liberationism, socialism or communism."

Although Jahisticism was never banned in Namor, local authorities have been known for constantly delaying their schedules on purpose to prevent Jahisticists from holding their rallies. People who ordered Jarrod Thuman's literary works online, moreover, usually see a note from the post office saying that "terrorist material" has been intercepted in their hands. Chen is calling for local authorities for "full tolerance" upon his signing of Order 755.

"We are a democratic nation," he said. "Banning harmless products like Jahisticism is what Luziycan Nazis do at a daily basis. Surely we're not like them. This can't go on, and it won't go on."

People lined up at the reception at the Library, where English, French and Chinese copies and audio version of Jarrod Thuman's "On the Party Ideology" were sold at a low price for R2 per copy---for the first time.

Residents have welcomed this news with positive thought.

"I might not like Jahisticism for its authoritarian beliefs," said Political Scientist Tzo Wang in a telephone interview with the Liberator, "But completely legalizing this ideology is another step forward in the process of our country's democratization."

Chen concluded the reception by congratulating the JLPN, and encouraged them to partake in Namor's next general election in 2015 (2355). He is scheduled to inform the Central Council, as well as the Jahistic government of this news.

Indeed, this is a great leap forward. Hopefully this will lead to the TOTAL repeal of the Subversive Media Act. After all, why should we *censor* material that we laugh at? Surely chen's not taking the humor from us?

I wouldn't say that. Subversive Media Act, as much as you liberals hate it, is there to protect us from Nazi shit. I mean, why the fuck would anyone laugh at the Constitution? I mean, at least it was reliable on...the Swilatian school collapse? At least it makes FOX News look like an actual news source.

HISTORIAN STUDY ON REPUBLICAN RULE
Reveals that Jung To regime killed more than history books say

February 20, 2013 (2353)

NOZAMA CITY---Renowned historian Jackie Lee has published his long-awaited book, called Republican Terrorism. In it, Lee said, it revealed evidence that Jung To, Republican Dictator of Namor from 1925 to Liberation in 1950, killed more than 4 million people during his rule, as opposed to the 1.5 million people statistic issued by the Ministry of Demographics in 1982.

Lee explained that when the Ministry was calculating the number of people killed by Jung To back in the 1980s, they only counted those who were killed in concentration and labor camps set up across the country.
Image
Lee claims that Jung To has killed more than
the people were taught he did

"Way more people were killed in suburban and rural areas, where landlords and pro-Republican political officers killed anyone who revolted against them," he told the Liberator. "The Ministry of Demographics did count some of these people, but not all of them."

Lee went across the country, collecting samples of people who were buried alive and killed in many other ways. It seems that, according to his research, Jung To had killed more people than Huswa Varanken of Luziyca and Manuel Agreste of pre-1917 Iglesiantis combined.

"The world needs to see the truth and confirm it and recognise it," Lee told the Liberator.

He is expected to attend a hearing in front of the Ministry of Demographics, hoping that they will confirm his research's validity.

EAST CHOREAN REGIME IS NO MORE
WORLD WATCHES AS NEGOTIATIONS FOR NEW DEMOCRATIC REGIME COMMENCES, AND THEN BREAKS

February 23, 2013 (2353)

CHORYO (formerly Cho Maximus City)--- As of yesterday, the East Chorean regime's control over the capital Cho Maximus City has been wrestled away from rebels of many factions.
Image
Chaos in Choryo: Jahistic rebels march the streets of downtown
Cho Maximus City.

A rightist rebel group, led by former East Chorean Party Official Bak Gi-jing, had just entered the outskirts of the capital city from the east just yesterday afternoon, followed by a liberal rebellion led by Ding Man-Sik, former Governor of the Pakju Commune, entering the city from the west, and a Jahistic faction led by former East Chorean Party official Chang Lee from the south.

The newly-proclaimed leader of East Chorea's communist regime, Cho Ding-pin, has been arrested by one of his fellow subordinates in a city hotel, while his regent, the top General Yang Ko Txi, has been sniped down and killed by a NPIB operative. This shook the East Chorean regime's structure for the very last time, as it can be confirmed now that it has collapsed top down.

The rebel attack on Cho Maximus City has led to the fall of 66 years of authoritarian rule over East Chorea, under the leadership of first Cho Maximus (from 1947 to 1995), his son Cho Pyong-chong (from 1995 to 2013), and, for a brief week or so, Cho Ding-pin. After decades of the East Chorean people themselves surrounding an elaborate personality cult around the Cho Dynasty, the future is uncertain.

The three rebel factions have agreed to negotiate in Cho Maximus Square, the country's largest public square. The capital city itself has been renamed to Choryo, like it was prior to the leftist coup back in 1947. The negotiations worked well, however the Jahistic side refused to back off, and in turn left the negotiation scene, reverting to violence. As a result, the negotiations as a whole broke down.

Despite promises for future negotiations, the warring rebels have not shown signs of giving up their possessions. Heated debates have arisen over how the new East Chorean government will function, who will lead it, and, most important of all, how to deal with other nations including Namor and Orientalia on the nation's long-unresolved nuclear weapons issue.

The Namorese government has shown its opposition to foreign military intervention into East Chorea as of now, saying that the "East Chorean people should manage their own affairs, after a long slumber."

But even the Namorese government or the Ministry of Chorean Affairs in Olachoo do not know what is in store for East Chorea and its people. Experts have outlined several possibilities.

  • Civil War: Tensions between the liberals, conservatives and Jahistics might lead to another armed internal civil struggle. If so, the international community is poised to intervene in East Chorea and send humanitarian aid to its people during such a war.
  • Four Party Talks: Talks might commence between the Namorese, Luziycans (who backed up the conservative rebels), the Jahistic Unified Republic and Orientalia, on how to resolve the East Chorea crisis.
  • Military intervention and Total Regional War: If the worst happens, East Chorea's people just might have to embrace an direct conflict between Bethlehem, Namo and Unolia.

THIRD GREAT WAR?
Namorese send Expeditionary Peacekeeping Force to press all sides to negotiation

February 24, 2013 (2353)

EAST CHOREA---As the situation in East Chorea is intensifying, and negotiations between the Liberals, Conservatives and Jahistics are reaching a breaking point, the Namorese Liberation Army, at the orders of President Jamin Chen, has sent a 700-man Peacekeeping Expeditionary Force to press East Chorea's conservative regime into negotiating with the international community.
Image
NLA soldiers have been preparing for all-out combat amid the recent
situation in East Chorea.

The President has already sought approval from the Central Council to do so. Minister of Defence Jaron Txo appeared in front of media outlets this evening, explaining the situation.

"We are not declaring war on anyone," he said, "but unfortunately the East Chorean conservative rebels, led by Bak Gi-Jing, has refused to negotiate, and has fired the first bullet on their fellow people. That is an act of cowards, trying to spark armed conflict when negotiations are possible. What Bak is doing is threatening not only East Chorea's future, but our national security. We see no reason why we shouldn't act."

Over 10,000 troops from both the Greater Industria and Olachoo Military Regions have been put on alert, while 700 troops have joined the Peacekeeping Force, and are already completing their peacekeeping mission. Their goal is to force the conservative rebels into negotiating with the rest of the East Chorean leaders, and to keep order within East Chorea at the same time.

The Peacekeeping Force will also give humanitarian aid to everyday East Chorean citizens at the same time.

The President's Cabinet has dismissed all claims of this police action as total declaration of war against Luziyca, Hippostania, and claims that this action was an invitation for military intervention from the ACA.

"Namor loves peace," said Minister Txo in the press conference, "and it is our duty to preserve peace in our neighbor, which had just escaped the chains of oppression."

He has also expressed concerns over the conservatives' support of the Luziycan regime.

"We do not intervene in the affairs of other nations for no reason," he told the Liberator, "but the Luziycans are backing up this regime in their long-term plan to overthrow and destabilise us. That is unacceptable, so therefore we're retaliating."

Some units of the Peacekeeping Force will land on conservative-controlled territory, while others will enter Choryo, where they will resume their peacekeeping missions.

"UNOLIA, HERE I COME!"
President-Elect pays historic visit to the Jahistic Unified Republic

February 25, 2013 (2353)

UNOLIA, JUR---President-Elect Alicia Wolf, heading the Namorese diplomatic delegation, has begun her week-long visit to The Jahistic Unified Republic, a capitalist "Thumanist" state which has closed its borders to "socialist" nations like Namor. For a whole decade, the new regime's policies of anarcho-capitalism and constant purging of "public enemies" has even alienated it from other rightist nations like Luziyca and Hippostania.
Image
Jahistic Youth members await as Wolf, situated within the Air
Namor plane, lands in Unolia for the first time.

Wolf's visit to the JUR would've not been possible without President-General Jamin Chen's tireless efforts to restore diplomatic ties with that island country. She was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Tzo To as well as her husband and children.

Stepping foor on Unolian soil, the President-Elect was welcomed by crowds of energetic Jahistic Youth, and, for the first time since the Thumanist revolution, a Namorese leader shook the hands of Chairman Jarrod Thuman, as well as other leaders of the Jahistic Libertarian Party, Unolia's ruling party since the coup. After that, the Namorese were escorted to the Hall of the Unolian legislature, known better as the Assembly of the People, where the meeting officially began.

Wolf promised better relations between Namor and the JUR, even during the start of her administration, which starts May Day.

"It was President Jamin Chen, a known expert in the field of diplomacy, with the help of his cabinet and I, who helped save this situation. Under his diplomatic initiative for Namor to establish relations with even the most extreme of governments, Namor has completed normalization of relations with Unolia. I am happy to see this," she addressed the Unolian leaders.

Wolf also broke the ice between the countries by encouraging a brighter future of cooperation.

"Let me tell you this: here in Namor we sing the Internationale too, only the socialist way. We sing different versions of the Internationale, and convey different views through them, but if we hum it then where's the difference? We're still united by this hymn. Our peoples both want the same thing for the world: justice and the spread of liberty and happiness. That's why we have the Internationale," she went on.

The Unolian counterparts, headed by no one but the Chairman himself, also had nice words in exchange.

"We are a peaceful people with only peaceful purposes and I think that now is the time we show our peaceful intent," he told his Namorese guests, "I have made it clear my intent to normalize relations with the People's Republic of Namor and I give thanks to their benevolence for accepting the idea of normalization. We hope to establish normalization and friendships with most nations of the world, no matter Capitalist or Socialist or Conservative or Liberal. I again wish to thank you all for being here and witnessing history."

Indeed, it was history in the making. International relations experts have never expected that a rogue capitalist regime would EVER establish relations with a nation that seemingly has opposing views, but it happened. Shocked was International Studies Expert Ryan Kim.

"This is shocking," he agreed with the Liberator, "and it also shows that the Unolians' foreign policy is finally beginning to shift to a more diplomatic status."

What wasn't shocking, said Kim, was that the paranoid that had existed between the two countries had finally thawed.

"Whenever a new regime is installed, there is paranoid," he told the Liberator. "The JUR is no exception at all. But as Thuman begins to realize that international cooperation translates to more respect for his leadership over the Unolian people, then the paranoid begins to fade away."

We here at the Liberator wish a prosperous relation between the Namorese People's Republic and the Jahistic Unified Republic for centuries to come. We also wish good luck to Speaker Wolf in her talk with the Unolians, and, ultimately, wish Chairman Jarrod Thuman and his administration good luck in running the country, for years to come.

PEACEKEEPING MISSION IN EAST CHOREA ACCOPLISHED
NLA CENTRAL COMMAND DECLARES GREAT SUCCESS

February 27, 2013 (2353)

CHORYO, EAST CHOREA---Just this morning, the Central Command of the Liberation Army of Namor has informed the world that the peacekeeping mission in East Chorea to press all sides into negotiation has been a great success. East Chorea's conservative insurgents, once led by former East Chorean party member Bak Gi-Jing--who fled overseas unwilling to make peace--has agreed to negotiate with the rest of the remnants of what was once the Chomaxist East Chorean regime, upon our Liberation Army's police action, which forced the insurgents to shift their policy from total annihilation of "communist forces" to leaning towards the negotiation table.
Image
Namorese Peacekeeping Force tanks entering a village
in East Chorea.

"This is a great success," declared Minister of Defense Jaron Txo in a Central Command press conference today, "Our peacekeepers are in the process of leaving East Chorea as soon as possible."

Little to no civilian deaths have been reported, due to the extreme accuracy of the Namorese troops and their Unolian allies, who have also volunteered to maintain the peace and stability East Chorea's people have long sought. On the other hand, little to no casualties from the Liberation Army was reported; according to the Ministry of Defense, only around 82 troops were killed, and around 143 injured. The Liberator would like to salute those who have given their lives for the advancement of peace in Esquarium and East Chorea.

No information has been gathered regarding the whereabouts of conservative insurgent leader Bak Gi-Jing--independent sources have claimed that he has, since the police action, fled to neighboring Orientalia or even Hippostania. While some of the conservatives tagged along with him, unwilling to negotiate, others remained behind to establish a new East Chorea, proving once again that our Peacekeeping objective to mantain tranquility and stability in a country plagued by dictatorship, famine and now war has been overall complete.

The President is due to award the organiser of the Peacekeeping Expedition, Commander Johand Go, the National Glory Award, for displaying overexcessive bravery in the police action against warmongers and imperialist ambitions. He is also scheduled to discuss with the Ministry of Defence on when the Peacekeepers will head home.

The brave and courageous peacekeeping efforts of the Namorese Liberation Army has once again proven to the imperialist powers--particularly Luziyca--that their ambitions to take advantage of a spoiled land and transform it into a good-for-nothing satellite state are bound to failure, and that imperialist powers like these should care about themselves and their own, suffering people.

Negotiations regarding a free and democratic coalition government between the liberals and Jahistics in East Chorea will begin soon, although there has been no set date. At that, the Liberator would like to bless the East Chorean people, and wish them good luck in deciding their own futures.

NAMOR RECOGNIZES DMLO AS LEGIT ONDEREAN REPRESENTATIVES, AND CAPELAND REGIME AS ONDEREA'S LEGITIMATE GOVERNMENT

February 17, 2013 (2353)

NAMO---The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has affirmed Namor's official diplomatic stance regarding the problem of recognition of Capeland-Onderea, formerly a colony of Hippostania which surprisingly was granted independence--an act usually not done by Waverley.

After the DMLO, or the Democratic Movement for the Liberation of Onderea, a group-in-exile that has combatted Hippostanian prescence in their country, changed its stance of total independence to ending the apartheid, fascist and white supreamacist policies of the new Wesley Horton regime of Capeland, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has agreed to grant the DMLO the status of the sole legitimate representatives of the Onderean people; while, at the same time, granting the newly-founded Republic of Capeland government the title of Onderea's sole legitimate government.

dual recognition to the DMLO and
the Russelville regime

A complicated stance indeed, but the Ministry says not.

According to this stance, the Namorese government will, from now on, consult with DMLO's leaders regarding issues of the Onderean people, while consulting with the Capeland regime at the same time regarding Onderea's national defense and economy, which is controlled by the Russelville government.

The Namorese government has called for the new Capeland regime to stop its human rights abuses towards Onderea's black majority, and, at the same time, urged the DMLO is take peaceful measures--akin to Nelson Mandela of South Africa--to bring an end to white supreamacism and fascism in the former Hippostanian colony. The Liberator wishes equality to come to Onderea soon.

"EMPIRE:" ALL WE NEED TO REVEAL BETHLEHEM

Book review done by Zora Mora
Book itself done by Lena Najranse (Swilatia)

The ancient Namorese philosopher Vagnor once said that "tyranny can be destroyed with a leaf." Tyranny, in all forms and any forms, regardless of military size, are bound to failure. Why is that so? Vagnor tells us that tyranny and tyrants rule by the sword of falsification, but the truth will eventually overcome that sword and the tyrant. What is the truth? How does the truth come? Truth comes in the form of armed revolution, wildcat strike, coup d'etat, but most of all, truth comes in literature. And Lena Najranse's recent book "Empire" shows just that. Lena Najranse caught international attention months ago after she, along with an Iglesian, fled the rogue regime of the Christian "Republic" of Luziyca into Liberated Territory in Geadland. This was the most recent escape from Luziyca done by foreigners, and once again, the Free World has been given two more people willing to uncover the Betlehem regime, one of Esquarium's most tyrannical yet propagandistic regimes.

In the book, Najranse vividly describes daily life in Luziyca (mind you, she was an exchange student there for a while), how the Luziycan society in the large city of Haclav City (Gijirokastra) was kept in control since Democratic West Luziyca fell in 1995, how the Luziycan government works, and possible scenarios for the Luziycan government's future. No other author---from the propaganda artist to the newspaper---has ever painted a better picture of Luziyca since 1995 than "Empire" and its author. In "Empire," Najranse details the dark reality behind Luziyca's so-called "free and democratic" government---its leaders have constantly told us that Luziyca has a multi-party system, but Najranse used "Empire" as a club to shatter that mirror of falsification, and revealed to readers that the Whig Party was in fact Luziyca's only political party, and others only play a rubber-stamp role.

Najranse also described the truth behind Luziyca's leaders, their acts of aggression on other nations and their acts of abuse on their own people. Their positions in human history, she says, and we believe, have been set in stone. "Empire" had done much to bring them there.

When I first began reading "Empire," I thought that it was just "communist" propaganda. But when I finished reading the book, I can tell you that there is no other book like it. Such a book is all we need to reveal the Bethlehem regime, and I suggest that people who want to understand this rogue regime pick "Empire" up at the nearest bookstore.

May the truth dawn upon us all--and the Luziycan people.

CHEN: "I WILL SERVE THE WA"
President decides to serve as Namorese ambassador to World Assembly once he steps down

March 6, 2013 (2353)

NAMO---Since Alicia Wolf (DS) won the presidential elections and will take office on May Day, it has been uncertain on what the current President, Jamin Chen, is expected to do. After a brief interview with the Liberator, the President has made up his mind: he will become the Namorese representative to the World Assembly.

The interview began at the Executive House, where the President-General will live during the last two months of his presidency.

Q: Your Excellency, have you made up your mind on where you're going next after the Speaker takes office?

CHEN: I have. Many politicians, many fellow Party members and even Speaker Wolf herself have advised me to take on different positions from May Day onwards, but I finally made up my mind to become ambassador to the WA.

Q: Are you interested in this position?

CHEN: Why not? People have constantly commented on my diplomatic skills, and have praised my ability to normalize relations with even the most hostile countries, and I thought to myself: if I serve the World Assembly, then I would be expected to show these same skills, so yeah, I'm interested in this position.

Q: Who said you should take on the seat as Namor's representative to the WA?

CHEN: My wife did. She told me: "Hey, you make a good ambassador," and I couldn't agree more. I also consulted with Jungtar Txo, the current ambassador, whose term would end also on May Day. He wished me luck, and also said I would make a good ambassador.

Q: Now that you will become Namor's ambassador, and a new president-general is going to take your place, do you have any fears about where Namor is heading next, in the field of diplomacy?

CHEN: Not at all! I mean, Speaker Wolf is a great politician, I've cooperated with her since my very first day in office, and I understand how she sees foreign affairs. And yes, she told me that the country will further pursue liberal objectives in this region and around the world, but that doesn't neccessarily mean increased militarism or anything. Wolf loves peace, like me and any sane person. We don't like interventionism as much as the Namorese people do. To say that Wolf's heading us in the wrong path in diplomacy is incorrect.

Q: Have you any feelings about whether Wolf's going to, or how she should deal with rogue nations like Zokoria, who currently use terrorism to carry out their Nazi ideals?

CHEN: I think it's best that Wolf doesn't do anything and, if she ever attacks Zokoria or Luziyca, attack with words. As I've said before, we don't need to use lethal force to get rid of these guys. We don't. All we need is the backing of the international community and the backing of the most important weapon of all: the Truth. Truth is the most powerful weapon our administration has, contrary to the popular belief. With truth, we can shine it on the faces of every tyrant or any tyrant. Shjoraski can't deny that. Müller can't deny that. Townsend can't deny that. No one can.

Studies reveal that of all Esquarian countries, Namor has the longest
average lifespan.

NAMO---The World Census Report has conducted a survey on all Esquarian nations, and concluded that of all Esquarian countries, Namor is the nation with the longest average lifespans. The WC has given Namor a rating of 41 in the Enoch Index. Nationals rated highly are more likely to protect themselves from preventable death, and enjoy long, happy lives.

Following Namor in terms of long lifespans are Syvorji, Iglesian Archipelago and Seven Castles.

For many years, the rogue regimes of Luziyca and Zokoria have claimed to have the longest average lifespans, but the WCR has proven them wrong. Luziyca and Zokoria has scored a negative 40 and negative 43 in the Enoch Index, respectively. Experts say that these nations have low lifespans and have a higher risk of dying a preventable death because of a) their government policies, b) their private healthcare system, and utlimately c) the regimes' insensitivity for people's health and well-being.

In a telephone interview, Sobek Chen, health expert from Thalassan City, told the Liberator exactly why Namor has the region's longest average lifespan compared to other halliburtons.

"The government has implemeted a free universal healthcare system," he told the Liberator, "that means all people are entitled to the healthcare they deserve, ALSO meaning that MORE people are able to grow into healthy citizens. In comparison to Zokoria, where the Nazi regime does nothing but persecuting LGBTs and leftists, the people have nothing but private healthcare, which is only offered to the rich. As a result, the masses get no healthcare, and they live sadistic, short lives."

Health expert Jonas Martinez tells the Liberator that the average Namorese does more excercize than the average Luziycan and Zokorian. In his Namo study room, he showed me the average daily schedule of a Namorese teenager and the average daily schedule of the average Zokorian teenager.

"This anonymous Namorese person excersizes about 3 hours every day," he said. "The average Zokorian spends half of the day eating off of potato chips and sucking on sundae."

Foreigners have also noted about Namor's place in Esquarium in terms of long life. Experts say that unless other nations' governments model their health and well-being system after Namor's, then they will never have longer average lifespans than the average Namorese. The government has also voiced its happiness of Namor's placement on the list, and has promised to continue its practice of giving the best of all services--to the people.

TO THE LEFT!
Unolia renounces relations with conservatives

March 15, 2013 (2353)

UNOLIA, JUR---The Unolian Jahistic Party newspaper Firebrand has issued an editorial by Chairman Jarrod Thuman, who declared that the regime will democratize itself through abolishing the Politburo and replacing it with a Central Committee and a Party Committee. Thuman also ordered its Youth Corps to cease all struggle sessions and evaluate the status of political dissidents with the "Juécè Tīngzhèng" policy, which translates to fair trial for all dissidents. Not only that, Thuman has declared that Unolia "rather side with the Center-Left Namorese than the Far-Right Zokorians or Hippostanians."

Experts on international policy see Thuman's move as a clear sign that Unolian foreign policy is tilting towards the left.

"This is a shocking move, indeed," said Kevin King, professor of international studies from Mojing University, "for many years, [Unolia] has recognized only rightist regimes like Hippostania, Luziyca and Zokoria. Now, their policy has changed, and has aligned themselves with free and fair nations."

State of Emergency Declared Over Txotai

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED OVER TXOTAI
Ethnic rioting breaks out throughout Txotai

March 16, 2013 (2353)

KUSEF, THALASSA---The Thalassa District Government has officially declared a state of emergency over the troubled prefecture of Txotai. This order was issued following a prefectural-wide emergency, when separatist ethnic riots, backed by the Luziycan Central Intelligence Agency and aiming at eliminating ethnic Namorese and Geads akin to the Holocaust back in WW2, broke out in the prefecutural capital of Kusef. Most of the rioting troublemakers caught by local authorities already have been identified as CIA agents, or mentally ill individuals who have no ability to interpret the truth whatsoever.
Image
Separatist hooligans in Kusef attempt to destroy more
civilian infrastructure.

A few days ago, separatist hate speech advocate Bjorn Shumev was found guilty of charges of publicly promoting hate speech that called for the total elimination of ethnic Namorese and Geads by the local authorities, and was sentenced to five months in jail. On the way to jail by his escort group, a group of rioters suddenly broke in and released several smog bombs at the police, injuring two but killing none. Shumev was safely escorted by thugs out into Luziyca.

The same also happened to hate speech advocate Helen Lahnov (Ethnic Luziycan), an author who has been notoriously known for calling for the elimination of the Namorese ethnicity. Amid the start of the riot, Lahnov and her husband managed to cause a scene by fleeing across the border into Luziyca. Alert authorities tried to deport the Lahnovs back to Kusef, but conspirating Luziycan border guards attacked our border patrols, and the Lahnovs were also safely escorted to Luziyca.

Meanwhile in Kusef, the rioters did everything they possibly could to get rid of what they called "Namorese oppression" and "Namorese communism." According to one spectator, one rioter even called for "all 800 million Namorese to be wiped off the map." Another recalled the rioters burning the Namorese flag and throwing rocks and stones, as well as even attempting to break into civilian infrastructure. Local authorities, amid violent attacks on both themselves and innocent civilians, counted over 23 police officers and over 66 civilians hurt. One rioter even attempted to burn a college student to death, but was fortunately stopped by bypassing police.

The District Government has already sent the Party Guard to bring all rioters to justice. It assures that everyone will soon be safe, the people of Kusef will soon choose their own way of life, and all foreign conspiracies are bound to failure.

EAST CHOREA HOLDS FIRST EVER ELECTIONS
Liberals, Conservatives and Jahistics compete without bloodshed

March 16, 2013 (2353)

Image
After decades of dicatorship, East Choreans are
finally able to cast their votes in the ballots

CHORYO---The Free Government of East Chorea has announced the start of the nation's first ever general elections. The elections will mark a start in the democratization process of East Chorea, which was once ruled by a communist psychotic dicatorship.

The elections will be processed through a single transferrable vote system, and whoever wins half of all votes will get half of the regime's newly set parliament. So far, three political parties are competing against each other: the Liberals headed by Ding Man-Sik, Conservatives headed by Fang Ul-jok, and the Jahistics, led by the young leader Chang Lee, brainchilded by the Unolian government.

Posters were everywhere, covering up the big-character posters that reigned East Chorea's public walls during the dictatorship years, encouraging people to come out and vote. Just this morning, a huge line formed outside of Choryo's voting poll, located outside of the People's Library, formerly the storage room of Cho Pyong-chong's literary works.

Many residents said they did had elections when the Chos ruled East Chorea, but were now certain they were rigged.

"I could only vote for Cho Pyong-chong," recalled a city resident whose name was not revealed. "Now, look at this! More choices! Why not vote?"

The new East Chorean government has allowed international independent people to come to their polls to watch out for frauds, skews and anything that would damage the first fair elections. So far, over 40 Namorese inspectors are at the Choryo polls now, making sure the elections are free and fair.

CELEBRATING 80th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATOR
Looking back at the paper that has brought so much to Namorese and world society

March 17, 2013 (2353)

NAMO, NAMOR---This morning, reporters, editors and writers of the Liberator met at the Green Pavilion in Namo to celebrate the newspaper's 80th anniversary, and to commemorate that day, the 17th of March, 1933 (2273), when the newspaper was established and issued its first edition, and President Yunglang Antelope being its first editor-general.

Since then, the Liberator was responsible for the extensive, unbiased and fair coverage of the Namorese Theatre in the Second Great War, the crushing of political dissent by Jung To's Republican clique, and the War of Liberating aLL Namor. During the dark days of Republican rule, the paper was banned, and anyone possessing this paper was punished harshly, but even the Republicans themselves secretly read the paper to know about the truth of the nation they're ruling. After Liberation in 1950, the Liberator has already become the most popular newspaper in the Namorese nation, and its mission to deliver fair and bias-free news about government, daily life, international affairs and the like to the people has yet to stop. The paper continues to report on top news and events in Namor and around the world, exposing falsehoods and delivering truthful news to the people of the world.

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Liberator, we are going to continue delivering truthful news like how President Antelope did on the 17th of March, when he started this paper. Recently, studies done by independent experts show that the Liberator makes other conservative, Nazi-biased newspapers like the "Constitution" and "Dagsrekord," along with the "Daily Herald" look like satire. Oh, wait, they are satire. Unlike these satire papers, the Liberator is a people's paper. We report from the people's point of view, not from the view of radical thugs and hooligans.

On this day, we wish the Liberator would continue reporting free and fair news to all Namorese for another 80 years to come.

PARTY GUARD TO CONTINUE MAINTAINING STABILITY IN KUSEF
Guardsmen vow not to let Txotai fall to imperialist ambitions

March 17, 2013 (2353)

KUSEF, TXOTAI, THALASSA--- The Party Guard, dispatched to Kusef to stop the ethnic rioting caused by CIA operatives aiming at instigating anti-Namorese rhetoric in the region, has stated that its process of protecting the people of Kusef is still underway. So far, it has successfully arrested over 50 counterrevolutionary backbone hooligans, still under custody in the Kusef Detention Center, which is under the control of the Party Guard.

The hooligans and rioters admitted to the Party Guard that they were trying to fuel instability in Txotai.

Said Joshua Fantadig, Ethnic Luziycan, age 33, confessed to the Liberator and the Party Guardsmen, "A few days ago, a group of friends said that they were from the CIA, and gave me about 40 lira in turn for my service to 'a movement to drive out the Red Namorese out of Oteki.' Next thing I knew, I was shouting slogans and killing innocent people, and I'm here. I'm very, very sorry of my actions." He bowed his head down and began doing what turns out to be repenting to God. "My Lord, please forgive me for my actions."
Image
Rioters set fire to a car belonging to a Namorese family.

The hooligans have caused extreme havoc throughout the city of Kusef. Many stores and streetside shops, most of them belonging to ethnic Namorese, were burned down or defaced by the insurgents. 54 year-old Jeffrey Kong owned a streetside store in Kusef, said that his son's head was injured by rioters. "I don't know why they would be doing this to me," he told the Liberator, sobbing. "My son and I never did anything against these people, but they chose to hurt us, chose to hurt us because of our ethnicity, and what do outsiders say? They say that we were the ones that were hurting them. Totally outrageous, now my son's injured. Thank Heavens he wasn't dead..."

But worst of all, this riot wasn't only targeted at ethnic Namorese. Ethnic Geads in Kusef, and, to a lesser extent, even ethnic Luziycans themselves were affected by the riots they've done nothing for them to come about. Haiswa Morsnof, age 44, ethnic Luziycan, was beaten up by a group of rioters, reportedly ethnic Luziycans as well. Morsnof was escorted to the nearby hospital, and is undergoing treatment.

"I dont' understand," he told the Liberator. "I'm Luziycan, why are they hurting me?"

This shows that the riot isn't actually a race riot, it is a riot to solidify a small group of people's ambitious imperialist interests. It is a riot specially planned by the Central Intelligence Agency, in support of the bogus "Oteki Independence Movement," to "recover" Txotai from "Namorese communism" and to established a Luziycan-backed "free" and "democratic government." The international community needs to learn the truth of these dangerous riots, and cooperate to stop the "intelligence agency's" terrorist ambitions.

EAST CHOREAN ELECTIONS END IN FAVOR FOR LIBERALS
Unolians and Jahistic East Choreans not satisfied with results

March 18, 2013 (2353)

CHORYO, EAST CHOREA--- The East Chorean Transitional Government announced today that the Liberal Party, led by Ding Man-Sik, has gained 51 seats, the Conservatives (led by Fang Ul-jok) with 40 seats, and the Jahistics (led by Chang Lee) with the remainder of 9 seats. Having the majority number of seats, Ding was announced as East Chorea's first interim president, but an angry reply was heard from Chang---and his Unolian coaches.

Chang Lee made a televised statement to the East Chorean people, stating that his party will not accept the election results, and accused "imaginary people" of skewing the elections. He is calling for a lawsuit against anyone who was responsible.

Image
East Chorea's election results were ruthlessly denied by its tanked
Jahistic participant.

Chang's angry call was seconded by his masters in Jahistic Unolia. A visibly indignated Madame Thuman, who serves as the rubber-stamp president of the Jahistic government, claimed that "Namorese, Luziycan, Zokorian and Aininian poisons" were sabotaging what was supposed to be a free and fair election, and even threatened to cease recognition of Luziyca and Zokoria's regimes as payback.

A lesser indignated Chairman Thuman, however, called for further investigations into this matter.

It is unclear on whether the Jahistics are trying to restart the election hoping to get more votes, or if Jahisticism is simply not what the East Chorean people wanted. Some experts have pointed out that, having won only 9 out of 100 seats in the election, the Jahistics felt that they deserved something bigger. "Considering that Bak Gi-jing was driven out of East Chorea, the Jahistics felt that the conservatives were playing tricks again, and that if another election was to be held, they would get all seats," Expert on International Studies Wei Guomin in Olachoo told the Liberator. "A result of 9 out of 100 is pretty humiliating, especially when these people are trying to further a supposed worldwise cause."

Others disagree. They say that although the Chomaxist dictatorship had been overthrown, the Chos' thick and strong cult of personality would still stick in the heads of the people for years to come. "For many decades, the people were taught that free enterprise and voluntarism-capitalism were bourgeois and socially unacceptable, if not counterrevolutionary, and that's taught as pure fact," said East Chorea expert Jonas Wanton, "Therefore, it's proper that the idea of Keynesian economic policies and capitalism would not stick with the people's heads overnight."

The East Chorean Electoral Committee voiced their concern over Chang Lee's condemnation of alleged election skewing, and is expected to attend a hearing from the Jahistic Party's leaders.

REFERENDUM TO DECIDE TXOTAI'S FUTURE
Riots pacified for the most part, but problems still remain
Authorities seal Namo-Luziycan, Namo-Geadish borders

March 19, 2013 (2353)

KUSEF, TXOTAI, THALASSA--- A peaceful solution was reached between local authorities in Txotai and separatist spokespeople through intense negotiations. The state of emergency in Txotai has yet to be lifted, but Party Guard captain Odin Swidzinski has stated that all Party Guard units will remain until it can be confirmed that the prefecture will be completely rid of foreign conspiracies and hate rioting. In the meantime, negotiations has seen the local prefectural government approve of a prefectural-wide referendum, an act which has been approved by the Central Government in Namo.
Image
Party Guardsmen and police cooperate to prevent hooligans from crossing
the Namo-Geadish border.

No reporter was able to grasp what exactly happened during the negotiations, however Governor of Txotai Jeffrey Xong told reporters in a press conference that although a peaceful solution has been reached, there remain problems, some of them solved, some of them yet to seek a resolution.

"The separatists wanted Aininians to regulate the referendum," he told reporters. "To me, that is just ridiculous. Why would we let another nation, who has never been involved in the Txotai issue, solve our problems? Other nations need to respect our internal affairs, and just because Ainin is free doesn't mean it gives them a free pass to manage us and our internal affairs. Fortunately, the separatists have agreed to let us regulate the referendum, and contrary to popular belief, it shall be free and fair."

Xong also expressed his anger over Luziyca for backstaging this issue all along. "We will not let imperialists, and I repeat, not let them manage the affairs of a free people," he said. "If we are to hold a referendum, I say that we keep the CIA operatives here out of it." On when the referendum was to be held, Xong replied "as soon as possible," even amid ongoing riots which still haven't been pacified as a whole.

Party Guardsmen also worked to reinforce security at the Namo-Luziycan Closed Frontier Zone, to prevent more defectors and operatives from telling the CIA of their latest intelligence reports. The Namo-Geadish border has also been closed until further notice, to prevent hooligans from escaping to Geadland also.

"If you've committed a crime, we're telling you right now that you're not going anywhere," threatened Captain Swidzinski. "You are not headed for your operative base in Bethlehem, nor are you fleeing for Bondhaven. You're staying here and we are going to hunt you down."

The prefectural Department of Public Security has issued an open statement a few hours ago, saying that over 15 more hooligan organizers were arrested for spreading hate speech, and, even when negotiations are underway, still chose to do damage to civilian infrastructure. Their verdicts shall be given at a later date by the Party Guardsmen, who, for the time being, still occupy Txotai.

IMPERIALIST WARMONGERS!
Luziycan imperialists set up illegal "no-fly zone" over Txotai, threatens to shoot down Namorese planes
Expansionist scum blasted by the Int'l Community

March 20, 2013 (2353)

BETHLEHEM, LUZIYCA--- The true face of imperialism was unmasked today after Luziycan leader Breuvi Shjoraski gave a "warning" to the Namorese, that until the nonexistent "brutal treatment of 'Otekians'" is "halted," he will set up a "no-fly zone" to "protect" Txotai from "Red Namorese aggression," and even threatened to shoot down Namorese planes if they "invade" Txotai, thus challenging the Namorese people to a fight only dogs would think about instigating.

The Luziycans' cowardly actions were quickly condemned by the international community. Various countries, like Ainin, The Jahistic Unified Republic, and Falsea have already publicly condemned the set-up of such a "zone" in internationally recognized Namorese territory, an absurd and direct violation of the international law.

Image
Liberation Army tanks enter Txotai to prevent the region from falling to Luziycan
fascist imperialism.

Namorese President Jamin Chen has already condemned the Luziycan imperialists' illegal tactics, and has responded by vowing to protect Namorese territory to the last man. He is ordering that the Closed Frontier Zone deny access to anyone trying to cross into Luziyca, as until further notice, such an act would be considered treason. He has also ordered that the Namorese Liberation Army send units into Txotai, and take on the duties formerly possessed by the Party Guard. Although the referendum has peacefully and fairly ended with the majority of the population voting for a status quo, which would keep Txotai the way it is, the Luziycan government wanted things to turn in their favor, forcing the Namorese people to recognize that 57% of the population voted for "Otekian independence," and, if they don't, would take lethal action which would never scare the Namorese people.

Such an act has prompted the President to take further emergency action, sending the Liberation Army to make sure that everything is stabilized. He has also vowed not to fall to the Luziycans' dirty tricks and not pull any planes out of Txotai, contrary to the Luziycan "warning" that if the Namorese planes leave Txotai after the so-called "grace period," lethal action would be taken.

But it is clear by now, that what the Luziycans are doing is clear imperialism, and is against international law, yet such acts, although ferocious and daring, will never scare the Namorese populace and nation.

NAMO-ZOKORIAN CLOSED FRONTIER ZONE COMPLETE
Ordinary citizens praise another well-done act to protect the country from Nazi aggression

March 22, 2013 (2353)

TRONDSENSVILLE, Upper Zokoria Autonomous Region---After six years of construction, the Namorese side of the Namo-Zokorian Closed Frontier Zone has been complete. Namorese people, as well as ethnic Zokorians in Upper Free Zokoria, wish that this barrier would not only crack down on illegal emigration, but it would also prevent the region from neo-Nazi, "Norsefirist" influence. Politicians in Upper Zokoria also hope that this barrier would crack down on the alarming HST terrorist prescence in the area.

The Namo-Zokorian Barrier will crack down on illegal emigration
and Nazi influence over Free Esquarium.

An inauguration ceremony, held in the border town of Trondsensville, Upper Zokoria and attended by local government officials and forty people, marked the completion of this barrier.

"Although this wall protects us from Nazis, it is also a sad moment, a moment to remember the free nation Zokoria once was before Henrik Müller took over," said in a speech by Dr. Elvin Ehlssen, chairperson of the Association of Free Zokorians headquartered in Novi Starkeville, "We must also remember the nations in Esquarium that have fallen to Nazi oppression. May God return to them one day and reach a hand out to their people, and may the Namorese government do whatever it can to bring freedom and democracy to all Esquarium. Amen."

The Barrier, as the Closed Frontier Zone is referred to by local residents, will begin up north at the tripoint with Namor, Nazi Zokoria and Callahanist Hvidbjerg, down alongside the Namo-Zokorian border, and end at the tip of the Southwestern Bay. It will be about 800 kilometers in length.

Similar to the Namo-Luziycan Barrier, the Namo-Zokorian Barrier will consist of three walls spanned across the border, under heavy camera surveillance and guard patrol. Local authorities say that no citizen will be able to enter the Closed Frontier Zone unless they have a written pass by the local police commissioner.

KIA'D IN KUSEF
Unolia's Vice-Secretary of Defense killed by terrorist while trying to stop hijacked army tank
Namorese government sends deepest condolences

March 23, 2013 (2353)

KUSEF, TXOTAI, THALASSA--- It is now confirmed that Kurt Humphrey, Vice Secretary of Jahistic Unolia's Defense Commission, was killed in action in Kusef, after being sent by the Unolian government to aid the Namorese in their struggle against imperialist conspiracy and rioting in Txotai. This marks the first time a major Unolian military figure was killed in action on foreign soil.

A Unolian military leader was proclaimed dead after being tortured
by separatist rioters.

Humphrey, leader of a Unolian peacekeeping force assigned to Kusef to maintain peace and stability, was just about to begin his assigned task when a NLA tank, hijacked by a separatist thug, charged at the Unolians at full speed. Amidst that situation, the Unolians had no idea but to bring the tank down, and investigated the operator of the tank. Suddenly, the operator reportedly charged out and repeatedly tortured Humphrey with a bat. When the Unolians finally got their hands on the badly injured Humphrey, the thug disappeared in the streets. The peacekeeping force's medic hurried to the scene, but it was too late. Humphrey, Vice Secretary of a high Unolian military commission, was announced dead at the age of 41.

Following this tragic news, a teared news anchor from Unolia's state television, the FNN (Firebrand News Network), announced that Humphrey's body will be shipped back to his homeland in Jahistic Unolia. This marks the first time ever that a high Unolian official was killed in action on foreign soil. It also reveals the true colors of the so-called "Oteki Independence Movement." Civilization now reveals this "movement" to be merely a terrorist group, branchilded by the Luziycan government to harm the Esquarian peace.

Namorese President Jamin Chen (LP) appeared on NCTV's Nightly News at Six last evening, and confirmed Humphrey's death. From there, he also sent his deepest condolences to the Unolian people, who had "lost a great leader who sacrificed his life against terrorism, let alone a foreign people's right to exist." Chen has ordered that several officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attend Humphrey's funeral in Unolia City, which would be scheduled at a later date.
