National Collectivism

What is Nentayegism or National Collectivism?

Nentayegism, known as Nentayeg thought or more internationally as Tehraani Fascism and National Collectivism, is an Authoritarian Third Position political ideology devised by Nentayeg Ikalrem that seeks to create a unified society (the nation) by organizing it along the lines of an hierarchal organic structure with a strong centralized state controlled by a vanguard party, whose task is to represent the interest of the whole nation and ensure internal and external security against elements that would otherwise seek to harm or destroy the nation.

It’s palingenetic, seeking to revitalize a nation which has been downtrodden by inside or outside influences through mass mobilization and education of people, coinciding with direct action against political and social elements which oppose or otherwise hinder this process. It rejects left and right politics on the basis that it sustains and promotes class warfare, which in its views as harmful to the national unity by pitting the people against each other. It blames multi-party democracy for stagnating nations by letting the state devolve into an mess of different political doctrines competing in popularity contests and pointless debates, as opposed to action and leadership. It promotes hierarchy, discipline, gender roles and collectivist principles over individualistic principles, seeing the need for organization in the populous more important than the whims and wishes of the individual citizens.

Tenets and concepts

National Collectivism

National Collectivism is often used to refer to Nentayegism as a whole and this is true in the sense that it is the primary concept to Nentayegism, from which many of the other concepts and tenets are either related too or directly derived from.

The term describes the basics of the political ideology, refers to the idea of the Nation as an organic unity which is termed the National Collective. According to National Collectivism, the National Collective encompasses every aspect of the nation, which is divided into three basic parts, the State, the People and the Culture. In the perfect society, these three parts act in perfect harmony with each other, which at its very core is what National Collectivism strives to achieve, a harmonious nation.

In the National Collective the State acts as the organizer of the nation, comparable to how the brain and nerve system manage the human body. Its purpose is to direct, guide, sustain and protect the People through law enforcement, defence and support via welfare, education and economic direction. Providing a social and economic frame work for the National Collective to function properly.

The People act primarily as the working components of the National Collective, enforcers, the workers, thinkers, defenders. Similarly as all the individual cells maintain and sustain thehuman body, the People sustain the whole through their labour regardless of their role in it, from factory workers to political leaders. National Collectivism maintains the People as the most important component, however without proper organization and structure the people devolve into a disorganized mass that destroys more then it builds.

Inside the National Collective, the Culture exists as more of a metaphysical aspect which provides society with its spiritual and moral principles and values on which the state bases its principle laws, as well as the fundamental social aspects such as behaviour and interaction of the people through which the necessary cohesion is achieved. In a sense this is more comparable to the consciousness of the human mind within the metaphor of the nation as the human body. National Collectivism deems it important for the state to uphold the nation’s cultural and moral values, seeing the destruction of them as the way towards selfish individualism and anti-nationalism, which leads to decadence, corruption, crime and social disorder. But the importance of Culture doesn’t stop there according to National Collectivism, it states that culture is integral to a people’s national identity and vitality.

This forms the basis of National Collectivism. It stresses the importance of each aspect of the National Collective doing its part, believing that otherwise a nation is doomed to collapse.

Integrationalism

Integrationalism is a form of socio-economic organisation similar to corporatism. The name is derived from the idea that work defines ones purpose within the National Collective and that to create class co-operation and organic unity each economic aspect of society needs to be integrated into an organic structure by organizing them into corporate groups, also called corporates. Essentially corporates are often giant organisations combining a labour union and employers' organization which facilitates interaction between employers and employees or employers from different businesses concerning matters involving anything from things such as working conditions, wages, competition and pensions to community activities and politics . Unlike in syndicalism these corporates aren’t singular economic businesses and consist out of many different competitive businesses. These corporates in turn make up a frame work where corporates convene in counsels on social, political and economic matters through lobbying and representation within the governmental structure.

There are many different corporates, they can differ per nation as it is often based on the local economy. For example there can exist an industrial corporate which encompasses every business responsible for producing anything from processed raw materials to businesses which produce computers or cars, alternatively these can exist as separate corporates and can often include many different businesses. Unlike with many forms of fascist corporatism, Integrationalism doesn’t inherently nationalize big businesses by default and advocates private control and ownership, although much room remains for government and public organizations to regulate or otherwise interfere with the decisions and actions of a private business as through the interaction between corporates and government departments and/or ministries. Economically it falls in the category of Mixed economics, possessing both a sizable public and private sector.

Integrationalism advocates a hierarchal system that relies on meritocracy. People are able to rise in position within their corporate group the same way as they can in their own business. Consequently this rise in position often reflex their career in their respective business.

While engaging in the global market is not doctrinally prohibited there is however a preference for Autarky, seeing self-reliance as important to national security, both in the sense that a closed economy lessens foreign interests which require more security outside of the nation and due ideologically being anti-capitalist is also seen as risking the influence of foreign plutocracies from exploiting the nation's labour for their personal benefit (as opposed to the benefit of the nation).

Corporate Democracy

Corporate Democracy is a variant of Authoritarian or Organic Democracy (where the voting power resides with a small and often elite group within society). It serves as a form of political organization to facilitate Integrationalism’s social and economic aspects in the strive for organic unity within the National Collective. It is in essence a meritocratic driven political system where a mandate is provided to the political executive by being elected at the hands of the represented corporate groups, who in essence represent the People of the National Collective.

In an effort to maintain the political control of the vanguard party over the state, many practicing Corporate Democracy also introduce a party hierarchal organization on the whole of society where people are divided into non-party, outer-party and inner party, which can be compared to and often intentionally coincides with the economic classification of lower class, middle class and upper class. Although this is not always the case. In this system one doesn’t have to be a member of the party to persue carreer and rise through the ranks of the meritocracy, however up to a certain point (which varies per job but often very quickly) it becomes mandatory to be a party member in order to advance further. These people become outer party and if they continue to rise they can become inner party. These positions gives entitlement to certain privileges, primarily economic such as owning or owning parts of a business, stocks etc. But also entitles certain political privileges. Inner party membership often requires significant political loyalty and through that the system tries to maintain the single party state and that people of loyalty and merit are the once most likely making the important decisions.

The political control of the inner party manifests itself through the corporates. Corporates place representatives into so-called corporate assemblies which act as part of the legislative, representing the corporates and through that also the economy and the people of the National Collective. This legislative also votes on important matters concerning the general wellbeing of the National Collective, in addition they vote in elections on the position of head of state and head of government. This head of state similarly appoints minister of the executive.

The central idea behind it is that the most qualified and in theory the most responsible people hold the voting power. Which Ikalrem viewed as important, since his primary criticism for multi-party democracy was that the average individual was too easily manipulated by different political parties leading to internal division of the people.

The New society

Ikalrem had a particular view on class hatred and warfare, to a degree largely based on foreign writing and his own personal experiences during the war. He did not believe the lower classes, primarily peasants and labourers were politically motivated, caring mostly for their own wellbeing within a short time frame and there for liable to vote for the first person who promises more in less time, regardless of the long term effects.

The middle classes, small business, intellectuals and those with administrative functions he deemed however extremely politically motivated under the right conditions, but easily susceptible to greed for either wealth or power and there for quick to overthrow the established system if it benefits them, either for personal gain or to satisfy a political extreme .

The upper classes, the political and economic elite, usually the Highborn class of the former Ramani Empire and those who were part of the stratocratic system of the TDR, were in Ikalrem's eyes near purely motivated to maintain their power and privileges and would adopt any system, ideology or method that would do so.

Ikalrem deemed this setup detrimental to the national unity. In order to combat class warfare he aimed to establish what he called the ‘new society’ where through the systems of Integrationalism and Corporate Democracy, class warfare would be countered and class cooperation achieved. Where in the needs of each facet of society could be addressed in a mutually beneficial system. The lower class would have access to their needs either through the availability of work and through solidarity welfare. The middle class would have the ability to develop and grow to become part of the chains higher up in society and the higher classes would maintain their privileges economically and political.

There was however a catch to this setup according to Ikalrem, the system relied on the establishment of loyalty and obedience to the nation and the system. An absence of this would result in the development of what he called ‘detrimental selfish individualism’ which could uproot the whole structure leading to a Tyrrany state .

The ultimate solution would be the eventual coming of the new man. A person deprived of this form of individualism and purely loyal to the nation and obedient to the system. This person, would be created through perpetual social education and the Terror State, which could only exist if the system could be maintained for long enough period.

Social education

The importance of education is emphasized by Nentayeg Ikalrem in both his politics and his writings. Specifically the youth. As firm believed in the importance of traditional values, he believed that the adults had an obligation to instil these values to their children in order to maintain the fabric of society. Which by extension would not only encourage social cohesion but also inspire the youth’s ambition to do good for society, e.g. following the great examples of the past in their contribution to the Nation.

The importance of military discipline in particular is evident, being a commander in the military, Nentayeg saw the way military organization was structured as the example for the model of the unity he wished for the Nation. Particularly in the sense of brotherhood and respect for leadership.

Social education is a system that Nentayeg set up to educate the youth of the country. With the specific aim to instil the kind of discipline and obedience to the system seen in a military organization into the next generation through a form of social indoctrination of children. With the long term aim of achieving social cohesion, uniformity, solidarity and brotherhood towards each other. It works as a mandatory part of the school system where children are subjected to a gymnastics with an often military ring to it and disciplinary conditioning that would otherwise resemble methods used in military basic training. Also important are the inclusions of stories meant to inspire children, glorifying morally just and honourable persons which are to act as role models, in addition is the use of a reward system for the best and most disciplined children and the encouragement of peer pressure to instil uniformity.

Part of this system are a type of summer camps were essentially the most exemplary children are send where they follow a program similar as usual, however in a different environment and with persons from the military. On particular occasions courses include rides and activities involving military systems and weaponry, if only for the fun factor.
