At what point does discussing a weapon become inappropriate here?
What diameter would you call say that it becomes better to post in another thread? We have had discussion of weapons up to 30-40mm in diameter (grenade launchers, AT rifles, ect.)

So, basically, what are the limits? We seem to be the really "Got a military question? Ask here." thread.

Nothing that can't be carried by infantry, regardless of how many it takes.

HMG's, Mortars, RPG's etc. are fine in my book.

20mm autocannons? Not so much.

I figured; though we do seem to talk about auto cannons and such with a relative degree of frequency.

If you arent trolling:

7.62x51 NATO is a full powered rifle round. Its not an assault rifle therefor.
Having a battle rifle is fine, but when making one its important to put internal parts in it.
The pistol grip is way to far back. The barrel isnt...well, on anything.
A rifle does not shoot the whole round. It shoots only the upper part of the round.
Heres a picture.



"i" is the part that leaves the gun. Its called a bullet.
"ii" is the powder of the gun. Its what makes bullet shooty.
"iii" Is a promer. The firing pin strikes and lights the primer, igniting the powder, causing pressure to build behind the bullet. The bullet then leaves the "casing", the brass colored thing around all that, and travels down the barrel.
