The Bakaya Inquirer

Jahistiko Partido Bakayi dominates parliament elections, whole nation in fear

In the recent elections, the Bakayan Jahistic Party (Jahistiko Partido Balayi in Bahasa Bakaya), led by John Vinayabanapati, has won 30 of 42 seats in the Parliament, outnumbering even it's strongest rival party, The Sacred Authorist Party. The people, media and our Holy Rajah has been distraught and is alarmed by this victory. Various opinions angry comments describe of fears that Victoriala shall be under a Jahist regime, as stated by some netizens:

"Holy f**king s**t they are doing it. We're all dead."

-anonymous from PaChan

"There is literally something wrong with Victoriala nowadays. Shame on you people for having them put into power."

-Bulan Midhava, Turiva Blogs

"F**king Jahistics. This is a disgrace to our freedom-loving nation."

-Angry commenter

As of now, our Holy Rajah has yet to have a say upon the matter.

Thumanism or Wengism?
Editorial by Jacob Connors, #2 on the JPUSC

EDITOR'S NOTE: The following was submitted by Comrade Jacob Connors on April 15th, 2014, after ascending to his current position. After long and hard debate, we have decided to run this. It should be especially noted that this does not represent the views of anyone besides Comrade Connors himself.

Comrades, my name is Jacob Connors. You may have not heard of me until I decided to criticize the current Government and it's Premier especially. It is no shock that I am not a fan of how the Jahistic Party and the Republic has been ran since the death of the Great Leader Comrade Jarrod Thuman three months ago. I am of the opinion, as a matter of fact, that in the record amount of time that Comrade Weng has had, that the Party has turned against the five peoples of which it is a Vanguard of.

Although he has restarted the Jahistic Internationale (now known as the Esquarian Coalition of New-Revolutionaries), he has also stifled all attempts at Jahistic Internationalism which the Great Leader and his Jahistic Party had promoted during his lifetime. For fourteen years, the Great Leader Comrade Jarrod Thuman lead us to closer relations with non-aligned nations and Jahistic Parties and revolutionary groups wishing to liberate their own peoples from the oppressive governments which ruled them.

Yes, even if the nations were not politically aligned with us, if we had the common enemy of Social-Imperialism, the Great Leader was the first to reach out and offer a hand in friendship and brotherhood. This goes for Revolutionary Socialist Koyro and Nationalist Ziegenhan (sic) as well as numerous other non-aligned nations. It was the Great Leader Jarrod Thuman who forged the Triumvirate Alliance out of international cooperation. It is Comrade Weng who has distanced himself from the Triumvirate because of a corrupt pilot's decision to drop lethal weapons instead of the prescribed conventional missiles onto a residential area in Kulsandia. He blames the Triumvirate for something that is the Jahistic People's Navy's fault.

In this critical time in our history, we cannot have a man such as Comrade Weng guiding the ship. He has an important role to play in the Jahistic Army and the Jahistic Party, but he has so far, in three months time, shown himself to be an ineffective leader. I urge him to either appoint more advisers to help him guide the country towards our glorious future or he should step down.

I urge the Peasants, Youth, Intelligentsia, Workers and Soldiers to band behind the Jahistic Party no matter the path. We are as united as ever, despite our suggestions to the otherwise. Long live the Jahistic Party, long live the Revolution and long live the immortal Jarrod Thuman Thought that will always guide our nation and it's peoples.

<Koyro> (Democratic Koyro) NSG senate is a glaring example of why no one in NSG should ever have a position of authority
The Emerald Dawn wrote:"Considering Officer Krupke was patently idiotic to charge these young men in the first place, we're dropping the charges in the interest of not wasting any more of the Judiciary's time with farcical charges brought by officers who require more training on basic legal principles."

The last relic of the communists and of Ghantish culture in Luziyca

Image
Askapen: the city capitalism forgot

ASKAPEN, NEWFOUNDLAND - This was the former capital of the Ghantish Autonomous Socialist Republic under the communist regime. Askapen stood for Liberation, and in 1985, it had 45,382 people living here. In 1990, it had 46,213 people. But by 2000, it fell below the threshold needed to be a city. Today, this town only has 2,814 people, and the only thing it has going for it is that it is the cultural center of the Ghantish community in Luziyca, and that it is quite possibly the last relic of communism. It may as well be called the Kashui of the North.

As I land at Askapen International Airport, I see a crumbling terminal building, crumbing from lack of maintenance over the past 25 years. It will probably be condemned sometime this year, like much of the buildings in Askapen. This was once known as Samuilgrad, or Samuel City, prior to 1938, when the Ghantish Autonomous Socialist Republic was established and Askapen was made its capital. In the terminal, crumbling remains socialist realist murals still stand, and only a couple people are in here, all only working. Some of my colleagues and I were probably the only passengers for the day. Well, maybe a month: planes no longer stop in Askapen, while prior to the 1990s, it had flights to and from Onmutu and Ghish, as well as Gijirokastra, Kungshamn, and Yerevan.

After I get out, I get a sense of how magnificent the city was. A large factory can be seen in the distance, and I felt it was the largest factory in the Ghantish ASR. The rows upon rows of flats and buildings in the city was a sight to behold: nothing like the endless suburbia that comprise much of the landscape, but a city that showed promise. Grooves and rust in the grooves with poles with wires show indiciation that there used to be a streetcar system in Askapen prior to the end of communism.

A car pulls up, and we all get in, with a sign: "Welcome to Askapen! Askapen Ongietorri!" . It was a minivan from the communist era, and we soon enter the city. Boarded up apartment buildings from every angle, crumbling infrastructure and even trees growing through buildings including a former school. Tattered banners once praising communism are seen, and only a few billboards advertise anything, almost all in Luziycan, not Ghantish. Boarded up shops are seen, and those that appear not to be boarded up were empty of any goods and people, or having been damaged by vandalism.

My first thought that went to mind was "Where is all the people?" No cars have passed me, and the driver replied, "Most live in only one part of the city now. "

Soon, I encounter a statue of Samuel the Great, looking suspiciously like Erov Haclav on a traffic circle as we go around it, and go into another part of town. We then make a left hand turn: if we went straight, we would've gone to the industrial areas. To the right, and we would be heading out by road to Saint John's. We see more rows and rows of abandoned buildings until we got to an area where we saw signs of life. A few stores seemed to be open, some children were playing at a playground, and people were actually walking. The driver then pointed out, "Most of the 2,000 people live here in the Haribec microdistrict. Only a few dozen live outside here, and they all work here."

I get out of the car, and take in a breath of fresh air. It may have gotten worse since communism ended, but it seems like everyone was happy. They all seemed to have found new jobs, and even though the city is no longer as rich or as prominent as it once was, it still finds a way to operate the way it used to do under the communists, and despite a reduction in communist iconography, they seemed heavily implied. And even if someone does it overtly, nobody cares anymore.

I soon book a time to interview the mayor, Zandor Arrantzale, not at the City Hall, but at a small cafe called "Gorria Ghant Kafetegi," or the Red Ghant Cafe. It wasn't a cafe, but a canteen. It was in the heart of the Haribec microdistirct, near the offices of the microdistrict. It was on the ground floor, but it offered a good enough view of the street and the modernity.

"Hello," I ask. "How are you doing?"
"Just another day, my friend," came the response from Zandor Arrantzale.
"I see," I say. "How have you been able to run the city like the party secretaries did during communist times?"
"People care about eating, having a place to live, and a steady job that can provide for their families. We have done that, and it has worked well for everybody. If it is not broke, there is no need to fix it," I heard.
"But what about Bethlehem? Are there any major changes to this place besides fewer people living here every year?" I was kind of worried. Even if the police didn't arrest him, it seemed a bit suspicious.
"Just a few, but nothing particularly major. I mean, there has been a lot of distance put between us and Communism, because we consider that to be a cryptic label. Bethlehem lets us do our thing, and we are content with that. In addition, fewer people living here every year makes it easier for us to do what we need to do," he said. "I can't necessarily blame people going back to the Old Country- when they offer automatic citizenship and access to ancestral family lands, that is a great deal. I would be lying to you if I said I wasn't tempted. But I have a good thing going here, so that is what it is."
"I know," he replied. "Do you think that Askapen would ever reach its 1990 population or ever be as prosperous as it once was under communism?"
"I'm not sure. Cities are alot like organisms. When the times and circumstances change, the organism must adapt in order to survive. So, no, I don't think that Askapen will be like what it was in 1990, but that doesn't mean it won't be a great city. Times change, and so too must Askapen, if it wishes to survive. And with change comes an opportunity to become better," he replied.
"And how can it become better? Through attracting those nostalgic for communism?" quickly slipped out of my mouth after I heard his reply.
"That can be one element. But another is that Askapen is a historic city. It was on the historic trade route between Onmutu and Oceanus. Merchants, traders and explorers from all around Western Esquarium stopped here en route to distant lands. Samuel the Great was here as well. The city is rich with history and culture." he replied.
"Can we have a look at the historic city?" I ask.
With a nod of approval, we got into an old car, to drive east. After we left the Haribec Microdistrict, we saw another industrial area, with rusting cranes and some cargo containers. A driver remarked that "until the 1990s, it was the second largest city in Newfoundland. It was a strong competitor with St. John's, especially under communism."

The abandoned containers and cranes all gave a clear indication. However, sticking out like a sore thumb was the Old City, a fishing village which became one of the major ports.

"Here we are," the driver said as we approached an open gate. We quickly turn right and park: this was the only place where cars were allowed into the old city.

I felt transported in time, and the architecture seemed well preserved. Authentic Ghantish signs still hung, it seemed like people have the potential to live in Askapen. This was really Askapen prior to the 1940s. Nothing was boarded up, but the stores were empty. Only the lampposts and a couple lights had any indication of people (the people still light the candles).

We soon stumble across a business still open: the "Ghanteko Luzika Museoa", or the Ghantish Museum of Luziyca. The mayor booked an appointment, and we rang a bell. An old man greeted us and said, "Hello. My name is Gorka. You are Zandor, and you are..."
I reply, "My name is Craig."
"Ah, hello Craig. Welcome to the Ghantish Museum of Luziyca, where we showcase the history of the Ghantish ASR, and Ghantish influence in Askapen," Gorka replied.
"Thanks," both of us said. We then had a good walk around the museum, marvelling at the past, and the present.

After a good 45 minutes, we ended the tour, and I asked Gorka, "How many tourists do you see in a typical year?"
"A few thousand, perhaps. Many from Ghant. There are several who travel the Path of Samuel the Great. Emperor Albert did it back in 1993," Gorka replied. I think he was a bit spot on during communism, but now? Not so much.

I then ask him, "What will you do after you die or retire with museum? Pass it onto someone else?"
"When I die, it will pass to another. If not to a local, then perhaps to someone from the Old Country. To maintain the museum would be a great honor."

It was clear Gorka will not retire. We spent another few hours walking around and seeing some workers restore a few buildings and maintain it. An ad in Ghantish, English and Luziycan advertises "askapen.luz: Wanna move here? See us, and get a home and a stable job!" But nobody wants to really move to Askapen. We even saw the sea with a pier and a couple workers fishing, and I took out a telescope and saw some ships passing by. None docking in the port, and none at the pier We then return to the parking lot and head back to the communist-era city.

We then arrive at the cafe and thanked the Mayor for showing us the old city. Now, we head to the last factory operating in Askapen. It wasn't the large one that towered over the skyline, it was a smaller one in the general vicinity. Factory No. 33, opening in 1964, to produce canned goods. Today, it produces only canned spinach. We were given a tour, and it seemed bustling, as if demand continued.

After that tour, we stayed for the night at the hotel in Haribec, which gave quite an impression of the city. One part of city had lights, a bustling nightlife, kind of, and the rest were all dark, save for a few specks of light. The next morning, we woke up and headed to the cafe where it was a bit busy. We ordered some coffee, and then consumed it. It was Easter Break, so it was a day off for many, except if you were at a factory. We knew that the microdistrict offices were essentially the city hall, with the actual building now crumbling like a skeleton. We then took a walk and took part in some cultural celebrations and feasts, with the whole city coming over to take part (save for some). It was not as much as it was early in the past, but it was decent enough.

Soon, it was 4 pm. We hitch a ride to the airport. Soon, we were into the abandoned areas, and in a few minutes, we arrived at the airport. A condemned sign was seen, but the doors were open.

We showed the lady return tickets and she said, "You are the last people to leave Askapen by air. This has been condemned, and we are given 24 hours to wrap everything up. Thank you for your patronage."
I was amazed and I hugged her. "May the city find new jobs."
"Oh, they will," she replied and everyone else laughed. We then got on the plane, and I sat closest to the cockpit to hear the transmissions. After the usual procedure, we then hear the air traffic controller say, "Goodbye Askapen International. And thank you." We then flew back to Gijirokastra, knowing that we were the last ones to fly out of the city.

Ninghua hits Namor with full force
Residential areas along coast evacuated, Red Alert for Namo

The Nyel Mydna Memorial Bridge as it looked as Typhoon Ninghua grazed Esquarian City
April 22, NMR 2365

NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - It has finally come---after wrecking Aininian infrastructure and making its way into the East Namor Sea, the mighty Typhoon Ninghua has finally made landfall in the southern Namorese coast.

Prior to the exact time of landfall at around 21:00 Namo Time, evacuation orders were issued throughout the Nozama River delta region, with thousands of people from Esquarian City already having packed their bags and left northwards to escape the most destructive Ninghua has to offer. Authorities estimate that around 9,000 people were evacuated from the coastline, although some senior citizens chose to stay despite severe orders for them to leave.

Before reaching the Namorese mainland, Ninghua passed through Peitoa, where leader of the Peitoa Area Jung Fa declared martial law. The entire archipelago lost electricity and running water, and in addition hundreds have been reported dead or missing. Jung Fa and his "Committee to Oversee Peitoa during Typhoon Ninghua" are now cooperating with each other to help bring a speedy clean-up from the mess the typhoon has brought to the archipelago.

Ninghua hit at Namor hard. As it grazed through Esquarian City, the eye barely missing Namor's 6th-largest metropolitan area, large waves crashed into storefronts located near city beaches, flooding many roads and exhausting the local electricity supply. Many in Esquarian City and Sicho now report having no electricity in their apartments and houses whatsoever.

The first unconfirmed fatality reports came from Esquarian City, where a tree was knocked down by heavy winds, crashing on the intersection between Larena and Zendaye Boulevard, smashing a car and killing a driver and the passenger. Also, it led to a building collapse next to EC's Northade Road, killing around 20 people according to some sources.

In Sicho, the famous Chincheng Temple, an icon of Txoism, was evacuated for safety purposes, and all flights were cancelled much to the dismay of pilgrims traveling to Sicho.

Finally, Ninghua reached Namo, where winds reached a speed of over 118 km/h, so the entire region has been issued a red alert, the alert mandated by law to be shown throughout regional television and radio as the storm progresses.

The mayor of Capital District, Duong Kouta, ordered all schools and recreational facilities in Namo to be closed before the storm came.

"This is a matter of life and death, and no one shouldn't take it seriously," Doung said in an emergency briefing on Typhoon Ninghua. "Thus I am ordering the closure of all schools and recreational public facilities until such time that the storm passes through Namo and the alert is softened or dropped."

So far, the exact number of fatalities from Ninghua cannot be verified or found, but estimates are putting it near one hundred.

Ohankaist Seize Control Of Holus

Image

Holuse solders in Holuch

At the beginning of the twenty first century very few people thought that the totalitarian Holuse government would survive to see the end of the decade.Having suffered heavily from economic collapse and widespread famine many assumed that the communist government would crumble just like in Orientalia or West Luziyca. Then in 2004 the first protests erupted in the Holuse province of Dewden, many thought it was a matter of time before Joseph McCarthy iron fisted rule over Holus would end.The protests soon escalated into a full scale armed revolt, after McCarthy's assassination and after defeat Holuse forces during the early stages of the war. Most assumed that the communist regime would collapse any day now;but some how the regime survived. Unbeknown to the world at the time the first trickle of military and monetary aid from Everia and Koyro had arrived just in time to save the embattled regime. And so it began the slow but steady abandonment of communism by the Holuse government.

After the revolt evolved into a low level insurgency and large scale fighting had ceased, the world forgot about Holus and Holus in turn when into itself.Holus desperately needed the backing of a great power,a void that Koyro filled.Post war Holus was fertile recruiting ground for extremist ideologies and perfect for Ohankaism. The ethic conflict between the Dewedeni monitory and the Holuse majourity had lead many young rising politicians within the National Revolutionary Workers Party to have the belief that the Holuse people needed to be more Ultranationalist and the Holuse government needed to exercise even more control over Holuse society, beliefs that would prove paramount in the success of Ohankaism.

On July 17th 2006 the first Koy ships began arriving in Holuse ports and with the Koy ships came Ohankaism. The crews of these ships described Koyro as a utopia,a moneyless a land of plenty where corruption, poverty, and famine were nonexistent. Ohankaism soon spread rapidly quickly becoming the fastest growing faction within National Revolutionary Workers Party.By the time of Paramount Leader Gotze death the Ohankaist faction in the National Revolutionary Workers Party was the largest faction in the party and most members of the Holuse government described themselves as Ohankaist or claimed to adhere variation of it.

Then Holus joined the Triumvirate.Tensions between the Ohankaists which advocated for greater participation in the Triumvirate and international community while the Communist which supported for the continuation of isolationist policies began to relations between the two factions began to deteriorate.Tensions reached the tipping point when Supreme Assembly rejected Chapin’s alterations to the constitution which which named Ohankaism as the country ascribed ideology replacing communism.Chapin and his supporters then attempted to dissolve the Supreme Assembly,in response, the Supreme Assembly declared that the Paramount Leader’s decision was null and void, impeached Chapin and on April 18th proclaimed Marshal Ivan Hamren to be acting Paramount Leader.

Tens of thousands of Holuse marched in the streets of Holuch seeking to bolster the Ohankaists cause. The demonstrators were protesting against the deteriorating living conditions. Since 1990, the GDP had been declining, corruption was rampant, medical services were collapsing and life expectancy falling. Communism was also increasingly getting the blame, most ordinary Holuse wanted a change.Things quickly began to escalate then Ohankaists demonstrators stormed the Supreme Assembly.the Holuch brigade (Which answers to the Supreme Assembly) then open fired into the crowd of Ohankaists demonstrators.By night fall the city of Holuch had desended into chaos as Ohankaists demonstrators and Holuch brigade clashed across Holuch.Seeking to bolstered his cause Paramount Leader Chapin declared the Supreme Assembly to be a Fifth Column within Holus a group of Luziycan spies seeking to establish a Luziycan puppet state and ordered the Holuse Revolutionary Armed Forces to crush the traitors. For the next two days some of the heaviest fighting seen in Holuch since the Holuse civil war consumed the city. Then on April 22 Chapin made a announcement to the nation and the world:

Since Holus's foundation back in 1962,the people of Holus have been guided by Holus's founding principles of Marxist-Leninism and Stalinism. But what as the goal of achieving communism have done for the Holuse people? As I speak thousands of Holuse suffer from famine, water insecurity, and poor living standards.Externally are once communist comrades have been overthrown by reactionaries, revisionist, and social imperialist. From Ocidenia to Kulsandia the social imperialist are launching their offensives to maintain and expand their "empire".It's only matter of time before they attempt to turn Holus into their puppet state. But their is hope for Holus, while communism is weak and corruptible,Ohankaism,a ideology from a far away land caused Koyro, has stood the test of time.Time and time again the social imperialist have attempted to corrupt Ohankaism and oppress the Koy people. But Koyro hasn't just survived it has prospered!

For those said reason's I declare Holus to be a Ohankaist state.Together with are Anti Social imperialist allies,we shall create a new world order. Holus's enemies shall be annihilated and relegated into the history books, while Holus and are allies shall prospered!
Long Live Comrade Chapin!
Long Live Comrade Ohanka!
Death To The Social Imperialist!

The sun has not set on our Empire

Image
Nalvyena will cease to be the official capital on April 25th when they join us

MELYN, KARENYTENIA - A few days ago, the Karenytenian government held a referendum on whether to become an Associated Free State. It was unheard of: save for the little known Kropost Slava, which was a small enclave of Luziyca, Karenytenia was never under the grips of Luziycan rule. It was an Iglesian colony, first and foremost, then a sovereign state, during which time it underwent fascism and communism. Now, it becomes the first state since 1982 when two countries: Aghavniner and Asenath became Associated Free States, whilst Nebesina opted for sovereignty.

The Senate approved with a landslide majority, and President Breuvi Shjoraski has signed the law. For years, people thought that the sun had all but set on our colonial empire: once the Empire of which the sun never sets, as far east as Kuznets, to Voski near Larena, to as far west as Askatasuna, it only has a few places under its grasp. While Asenath seems ready to join Luziyca proper, and Aghavniner so far willing to keep the status quo, nobody expected a country to voluntarily relinquish full sovereignty.

Shjoraski was even amazed when he heard the results, commenting, "I am quite pleasantly surprised by how many Karenytenians truly want an opportunity to join Luziyca as an Associated Free State. I will attend the handover ceremony on the 25th of April, and grant all Karenytenian citizens automatic citizenship of Luziyca."

Eastern command will be moved from Nebesa to Melyn, but the transport of ships will take a couple weeks, while the planes will be there by April 26th. The lira has already been in use since 2012, so there is no need for Karenytenians to change currency. Luziycan classes are being taught in anticipation, although the new officials say that Iglesian will remain an official language alongside Luziycan, English, and Swedish.

However, despite enthusiastic support (and opposition) in Karenytenia, the reception back home is lukewarm at best.

One women from Gijirokastra said, "I do not understand why Shjoraski let Karenytenia join us as an Associated Free State. We have like, zero influence over their culture prior to 2012, and they're trying to make themselves more Luziycan."

A man from Yerevan stated incredulously, "Did they really choose to join us? Huh. Not like it'll change anything."

"Are we going on *another* civilizing mission?" an old man said from Dudyev. "What is this, the 1890s?"

Even the polls indicate high apathy in regards to Karenytenia, with a question on whether people support their incorporation into Luziyca as an Associated Free State having 81% voting neutral. A similar question for Asenath on whether it should join Luziyca, keep the status quo or gain sovereignty only had 8.1% voting neutral for the question.

If this act were to help our goals in making this century the Luziycan century, it will probably harm us in the long run, not only due to the war occurring there, but how it would be a burden on the Christian Republic as a whole. But the people made the choice to join us, so we will make it an Associated Free State.

Perusia – News came from the Kraenvian this morning, as High Prince Thageos, heir to the Kingdom of Tiathon, sent out a call for suitors for his eldest son, Prince Crenos. Prince Crenos turned 18 last month, officially coming of age. The High Prince sent out an official message to all nations in the region looking for a woman of high status suitable to become Queen of Tiathon.

This will be the first time in nearly a century that the heir to Tiathon will marry outside of the country. Since King Hadrean IV, every Ithryan monarch has married from the local nobility or oligarchs. High Prince Thageos himself married Princess Hasia Artua, daughter of Lord Hazros Artua, mayor of Iothmae and CEO of H&A Motors. King Herran III married Queen Aria Holsers, the first woman general in the Tiathonian army since Queen Aquera in the 17th Century.

Marriages are of great importance to all in Tiathon. Leaders have used it to develop their power and ensure alliances for over twelve hundred years. They have given the people an insight into the values of their leader and have often been used to reveal a change in policy. When Thageos married Lady Hasia in 1991, it signaled a shift in King Herran’s trade policies, removing the majority of tariffs and dedicating the government to a free trade policy. Could the marriage of Prince Crenos signal a similar change in his grandfather’s policies? The Kraenvian refused to comment.

“Today, we announce the coming of age of Prince Crenos Tiathon, Prince of Ithrya and second heir to the Kingdom of Tiathon… I hereby invite proposals from all other nations for the marriage of the second heir and Prince.” The announcement, made by High Prince Thageos continued to express the High Prince’s respect for his son, and his gratitude to his father for blessing the idea.

This announcement brings even more questions. Who will be Tiathon’s new Queen? And more importantly, what does this mean for all Ithryans?

Nuoju Zeng commits suicide in Namor
79 year-old radical charged with terrorism, damaging national security
April 23, NMR 2365

NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - The Ministry of Public Security announced that Nuoju Zeng, former leader of Katranjiev's Liberationist Party and head of Riro's extremist militant faction, committed suicide under Namorese custody before she could be stopped in any way by Namorese authorities. Zeng was seventy-nine years of age.

Zeng was arrested at the order of Namor's Supreme People's Court (SPC), which issued a warrant for her arrest, effective once she steps on Namorese territory.

This was done since the SPC, after a series of thorough research and investigation with the help of independence parties, determined that Zeng is responsible for terrorism, provoking racial hatred and conspiring with other backbone elements in undermining both Namor's national security and the peaceful image of Riro's sovereignty movement.

When she was the wife of late Katranjian leader Huankun Chen, Zeng was infamous for corruption both in financial and political means, bribing other officials to preserve her power and accepting bribes against proper doctrine.

After the regime change in Katranjiev in NMR 2329, Zeng stepped up in her game to provoke racist sentiment, calling for the "neutralization" of Katranjiev's Slavic peoples. Even then, she proclaimed herself to be a true hero and Namorese patriot.

It is known that a true patriot must contribute to his country, but Zeng did the opposite.

She conspired with the Luziycan Central Intelligence Agency and acted as a black propaganda tool, hoping that the world will see her views as the views of Namor's progressive citizens, but Esquarium's impartial minds saw otherwise.

Such a "patriot" even paid regular visits to separatist terrorists in Txotai, paying around P2.3 billion to the "Otekian Independence Movement," even giving them the "go-ahead in obliterating the Namorese capital with continental ballistic missiles."

By e-mailing and texting pornography to soldiers of the Liberation Army and even officers of higher rank, Zeng hoped to demoralize Namor's armed fighters during the War of Defensive Counterattack against Luziyca.

Recently, in the region of Riro, Zeng led a group of red-headed radicals to attack government buildings and slaughtered countless civilians, only to defame Riro's sovereignty movement and give more credibility to Krasimir.

The SPC is certain that Zeng, among all individuals, should be held accountable for her provoking of Namophobia despite flattering Namor to sugarcoat her crimes from keen, independent minds of people. The arrest of Zeng is a sign that Namor is forever committed in the region-wide struggle against extremism and terrorism.

The court session that is scheduled for Zeng is cancelled, however, because she is dead.

Coup Attempt!

Image
Students call for the soldiers to withdraw to their barracks

IKKARIA, KORENCIA - With Lieutenant Antonio Pέvoci arrested after he surrendered to forces loyal to King Harold, we can finally inform our readers of what happened earlier this morning, with as much clarification a possible. Mixed and conflicted telling's of today's attempted coup d' etat have popped all over the internet, but we have talked with officials of His Majesty's Government who talked to us about how the events unfolded.

Around 6:30 AM a group of officers inside the Korencian Defence Forces, with the help of radical republicans and supporters of the Radical Front as well as the Christian Party of Korencia attempted to overthrow the Korencian government. With the help of police officers, and key members of the National Information Agency, the coupers arrest most of the members of the Provinsional Government and most MP's. They also captured key buldings and installations throught Ikkaria and other cities.

However, forces loyal to King Harold managed to evacuate him before the coupers arrived in the Palace. The King managed to broadcast a message on National Television, just before the station was raided by radical republicans who assisted the coupers. Protestors rose up in Ikkaria, and police was deployed against them. From the conflict between the protestors and the police officers, 13 civilians were injured and one police officer killed.

Clashes also took place between pro-Harold elements of the military, and the Republican ones near the location where the coupers HQ was. Three soldiers were killed, and pro-Harold forces were able to arrest the mastermind behind the coup, Antonio Pέvoci, a Lieutenant in the K.D.F. Investigations have begun to uncover the elements in the military and the intelligence agencies that supported the coup as well as possible Luziycan participation from evidence found on the apartment of Pέvoci.

Exclusive Interview with Sara Hanover, newly minted Prime Minister of Braetia

Daymn Girl!

Welcome to yet another, very special edition of The Nibbler. After much anticipation, we finally got Sara Hanover to sit down for an interview. Damn right.

So, we had a special correspondent travel to Braetia, to sit down with their leading lady. She was cool, very cool. And hot. If it is possible to be cool and hot at the same time, Sara does it.

The Interview

TN: "Hello, Lady Head of the Commonwealth. Thank you for agreeing to the interview and having me here."

SH: "I'm not the Head of the Commonwealth anymore, remember. But it's my pleasure to have you here."

TN: "So, you are now the President of Braetia?"

SH: "Prime Minister."

TN: "Prime Minister of Braetia. Congratulations on being the first of your kind."

SH: "Thank you kindly."

TN: "So, we heard about that business with the rebels. How did you decide to deal with the rebel scum?"

SH: "Send in the troops and go for the communication lines and such. I also pretty much fired anyone who bailed out on sessions, that helped us enact the decisions needed to get moving. Right now we're aiming for the downtown core of Pembroke, and hopefully we will be able to move on to Alget by Friday."

TN: "That is very impressive. Contrary to popular belief, people back in Ghant approve of your actions. Another opinion poll said that your ability to take charge and assert control is also very sexy. Are you as assertive in other areas as well?"

SH: "What kind of question is that?"

TN: "A Nibbler question. Don't be shy."

SH: "Don't be hopeful."

TN: "Oh, you are a fiesty one. Speaking of fiesty, what is the long term solution to dealing with the Monarchist sympathizers?"

SH: "Disappoint them in the elections by watching their party struggle to get seats. This isn't 1968 anymore, the Green Party's era of revolution will soon be over. Let them wallow in their own sadness. The rebellions will be cleared by late May anyways."

TN: "I heard rumors that Leo was going to rise from the grave with his sword and wreak havoc upon Braetia. Did you develop a contingency plan for that?"

SH: "Not really. Thankfully, though, the secret facility in which he currently rests has top-notch security and will easily be able to put down any sudden uprisings."

TN: "Are there alot of secret facilities in Braetia? And do they have aliens or...were-cheetahs in them?"

SH: "Secret facilities? Why do you ask? If that's what you're worried about, I can assure you we have absolutely no underground facilities underneath Cobalt Falls, and they are certainly not lookin into the extermination of the were-predator problem. And for heaven's sakes we are definitely not co-operating with Iglesiantis, Meyanara or Slega to find a solution to these problems that don't exist."

TN: "That is good to know. Speaking of secrets, people in Ghant are fascinated by you. Your beauty, your intelligence, your education, your life, and your relationship with the Emperor. What can you tell us about that?"

SH: "I was the middle child of three, so I've always been looking for attention. I got into a few spats when I was in high school, but I ended up getting a political sciences scolarship to the University of Ghish. There I met the Emperor, and we actually hooked up even though he was way younger than me. I also started doing stand-up comedy to help pay the bills, and when I got my degree, I went back to Alget and I got chosen to be leader of the Reform Party because of my education and charisma. The Reform Party got the most seats, and here I am."

TN: "So, you are admitting that you and the Emperor had a certain degree of...proximity? Besides that, back in your University days you were a big hit. Did you party alot and take full advantage of the college experience?"

SH: “I didn't party a lot, no. A lot of my teenage and early adult years were working at small shops and hooking up with guys. I went to a few parties, but I also shut down at least one because they were being thrown by my ex-boyfriend.

TN: "Tell us about this ex-boyfriend. He sounds like a hardass."

SH: "Medo? Ah, he was rowdy and messed around with other girls a lot. He actually asked another girl for her number in front of me one day. I didn't even dump him after that! I actually broke up with him by saying so on the school announcements. Poor guy never got another girlfriend until after high school."

TN: "What was the Emperor like? All we hear are rumors from the Uptown girls..."

SH: “He was really contemplative. He didn't talk a lot and spent a lot of time going through history books. Sometimes he asked me to tell him all about the Imperial Orthodox Federation's history. He was also the first boy I really had feelings for, and I felt really dirty for it.”

TN: "What about it made you feel dirty?"

SH: “He was still kind of a kid to me. He was actually younger than my younger sister. It just felt really... wrong, but it was what I wanted.”

TN: "Indeed. Although it is known that he is madly in love with Sophia, most believe that he will always have a place in his heart for you. And speaking of Sophia, she started attending Ghish in 2006. Where you still around at that point, and did you know her at all?"

SH: “Hmm, 2006. I was 23 at the time, and I think by that point I had broken up with Nathan. I did know her a little, though, since I came by to visit every so often.”

TN: "They say she is jealous of you, even though she does a good job of not showing it. How do you feel about the Empress? It is strange, because in many ways she is like you."

SH: "I don't understand her jealousy. I don't have the same feelings I had for him anymore, and I'm happy for the two of them. She is very crafty and courageous herself, and I think they are a much better pair. Ghantish people as a whole never fail to mystify me."

TN: "Touche, Mrs. Prime Minister. So, what's the future hold for you?"

SH: "A late-night show on TVB. That and losing Ashengard blades and totally not doing secret research projects in Cobalt Falls. Absolutely not. Whoops."

TN: "You are quite the comedian. Ever thought about coming back to Ghant and joining the Nibbler?"

SH: "I already have a six-figure job lined up. That and Bretian humor isn't very much like Ghantish humor."

TN: "How's it different? Not as much crude humor and puns?"

SH: “Less crude humour, more absurdities and poking fun at other Bretians.”

TN: "By the way, now is your last chance to accept our offer of a jello wrestling match between you and the Empress. She said she would be down if you would be down. Proceeds to charity too..."

SH: “Fine by me, just don't expect a skimpy bikini.”

TN: "Who do you think will win?"

SH: “The one percent. We- they always win.”

TN: "That they do, that they do. Thank you, Prime Minister for your time."

SH: "You earned it."

End of the Interview

Here is what we learned about Hanover. She is awesome. Clearly, she is funny, intelligent, strong, and sexy. I, and many, many others, would hit that, without hesitation. I mean, she takes charge. She gets shit done. The Emperor is a very, very lucky man, and the envy of men everywhere. I mean, he hit that, and Sophia of Dakmoor? What the fuck? What is his secret? (Besides being the Emperor of Ghant, of course).

We don't expect Sara Hanover to fade away anytime soon. The young engenue turned comedian turned Head of Commonwealth turned Prime Minister will undoubtedly enjoy a productive career as a late-night show host.

And lets not forget about the jello wrestling match between Sara and Sophia. Its coming. Start making your bets!

Stay awesome, Sara Hanover- you just got Nibbled.

The Times of Wolfmanne

Sallustro: Hravedian bombing of Karadyn is 'targeted murder'

Ivan Sallustro, the President of Wolfmanne, criticised the Hravedian bombing of Karadyn during an interview with CBS News yesterday, instigated when the Magenyr Parliament, on behalf of the autonomous Magenyria, made a Declaration of Independence from Hravedia, leading President Karlovac to authorise the Hravedian Airforce to bomb the city, citing the organisation of 'Magenyrian militias'.

The bombing campaign was indiscriminate and savage; no building, no matter how harmless it was, was spared on the basis it might be a house, a hospital, or a school. Independent sources estimate that at least 3,000 people have been killed on the first day, a figure high enough to prove how unexpected the people of the city were for the Hravedian government to endorse such a brutal action. When the planes flew overheard, nobody expected for bombs and missiles to be dropped. As they impacted the ground, once busy markets became scenes of carnage, buildings collapsed, fires emerged and people ran in the streets screaming, finding whatever shelter they could. Yet they kept on coming.

President Sallustro and the Foreign Ministry issued a joint statement, affirming that they will not recognise the independence of Magenyria 'at this point in time'. However, the Foreign Ministry added in its official statement that 'the Hravedian military should restrain itself, and attempt to avoid collateral damage. We strongly urge that both sides sit down and talk, with the OEN mediating the situation if possible. However, Sallustro was interviewed by CBS News later on, where he gave a more blunt view on the bombing.

"Without a shadow of a doubt, it was targeted murder" he said. "The Hravedians were deliberately targeting Magenyrian civilians in an attempt to break the will of the Magenyrian. Such an action warrants the attention of the OEN, who should take steps to prevent this escalating to genocide".

Parliamentary Leader of the Opposition and Labour Party Fabio Metta also gave his view on the situation, stating that "the government is too afraid to admit that the bombing is only the first day of a brutal genocide. Even this bombing, on this very day, can already be considered genocide. We urge the government to prepare to act on behalf of the OEN".
Cicero thinks I'm Rome's Helen of Troy and Octavian thinks he'll get his money, the stupid fools.

Emergency relief aid in full swing after Ninghua
87 dead, deadliest storm in 20 years
April 25, NMR 2365

NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - Typhoon Ninghua's power has greatly devolved as it advanced deeply into mainland Namor, before becoming a depression and a storm in central Namor and the upper Nozama Valley.

As this was going, a Liberation Army chopper soared over the highway linking Namo, Sicho and Esquarian City. The chopper was headed for EC, the city where the typhoon has caused the most damage in since it slammed into the city and northwards, the first act in its landfall. From the chopper, an army captain observed the destruction Ninghua caused below---entire cars and buses steered off course of roads, houses destroyed by the impact of the storm, and tens, if not hundreds, of trees.
Image
Namo suffered a widespread power
outage during the storm

"This is crazy," he said.

In Esquarian City, families and friends are huddling together, comforting each other after the storm.

"[Ninghua] sure hit us hard," said one city resident. "My apartment was flooded."

"You are not alone," said EC mayor Ryoichi Yaryn Wu shortly after the storm passed the vicinity of the city. "We will help you in recovery."

87 people were killed from the storm, making it the deadliest storm to have hit mainland Namor since NMR 2345, when Typhoon Aling hit, with a route very similar to that of Ninghua's, killing 75 people.

In Peitoa, the "Information Office" reported 29 fatalities, the highest of any typhoon since Aling back in '45. The Peitoan authority announced that it is taking any necessary measures in emergency relief aid to ensure and speedy recovery from the damage.

But in the larger mainland Namor, it is a different story. More people died, more houses were destroyed, and the typhoon cost over P455 billion in damage (roughly USD $65 billion). This also makes Ninghua one of the most financially damaging typhoons in Namor since Aling. The damage of the typhoon poses yet another dilemma for the Khan administration, which is already dealing with a crisis in southeastern Esquarium and the sovereignty movement in neighboring Riro.

President-General Kaitlyn Khan visited the Namorese Emergency Assistance and Disaster Relief Organization (NEADRO)'s Digital Command Center following Typhoon Ninghua to oversee NEADRO's ongoing efforts in delivering swift emergency assistance to affected areas throughout the southern Namorese coast.

"The storm has passed," she said. "What we now do to recover from it will determine who the victor is in this struggle. If we don't do anything, we lose. If we do everything, we will win. The people are with us.

"My only order to the emergency relief organization is to save people, as many as you can find. That is the utmost and primary order," she added.

Former Knights member exposes Zeng's unknown dark side

THALASSA, AUTONOMOUS REPUBLIC OF THALASSA - Simon Yezhav, former member of the Knights of Saint Luther who defected and turned himself to counter-terrorism special forces back in NMR 2353 by crossing the Namo-Luziycan border, revealed that Nuoju Zeng, former premier of Liberationist Katranjiev, Namorese "supremacist" and self-proclaimed Namorese "patriot," actually forged close ties with Otekian separatist terrorist organizations, including the Central Intelligence Agency. In an interview with PTH, Yezhav says that there are many documents he took with him while defecting to Namor which prove that Zeng kept in close touch with CIA assets and top leaders of the "Otekian Independence Movement," "Otekian government-in-exile" and the Knights of Saint Luther (supposedly replaced by the "Otekian People's Association" after the death of terrorist leader Breuvi Chikmurdof).
Image
Simon Yezhav, former Knights
member, has something shocking
to reveal about Nuoju Zeng

PTH: Did Nuoju Zeng have close ties with the Central Intelligence Agency or the Knights?

SY: Indeed. She was a close friend of Breuvi Chikmurdof, years before he died in the hands of [the Namorese]. After the 2001 (NMR 2341) violence, he [Chikmurdof] telephoned Zeng on the event. Zeng told Chikmurdof: "Congrats. Hopefully 'Oteki' will be free and the revisionist Liberationists will be driven out of a country that deserves to be independent. We should blow the Namorese capital up with ballistic missiles." Chikmurdof laughed, nodded, and thanked her for her verbal support.

As for the CIA, I'm not sure, but I am certain that if she has ties with the Knights, she has ties with their benefactors as well. There is a possibility.

PTH: Did Zeng pay visits to these terrorist groups?

SY: She would if she didn't spend so much time in jail. The thing is, during the 1990s (NMR 2330s) she was in jail, for, you know, being the head of Liberationist Katranjiev. After she was released, she quickly paid visits to Chikmurdof, although the Luziycan government made sure such visits were held in secret and weren't released to the public's knowledge.

PTH: Some people can't think this through. How can this person who calls for the eradication of Slavs, support an entirely Slav-run organization?

SY: Well, Zeng was just a black propaganda tool. That's all there is to say.

PTH: Chikmurdof is dead...this other guy, Shumev, has taken over and formed a splinter group. Do you think Zeng, before death, had ties with him?

SY: I've left the organization before Chikmurdof's death. I can't say, but I'm sure that, with Zeng's place as a black propaganda tool, there is a very high likeliness that she has close ties with [Shumev].

Williamson Stands for OEN Secretary General

Alexander Williamson, the Britannon Prime Minister from 2006 to 2014, has announced his candidacy for the position of Secretary General of the Organisation of Esquarian Nations.

Image

The former PM announced his decision earlier this week, having left mainstream Britannon politics to focus more on Esquarian international affairs. He has promised that if he has elected, he will not approach any situation from a biased viewpoint. Williamson pledged to not support any side in the Esquarian Cold War, stating his belief that a neutral leader was of high importance.

He said "if the leader of the single organisation that unifies all Esquarian nations and brings them together approaches the role with a viewpoint biased towards any individual nation or alliance, then that person could threaten the little stability that remains in Esquarium."

Williamson's main aims are to restore peace to many parts of Esquarium, including Ocidenia. He has condemned the actions of many governments, including Britanno's, for intervening militarily in the crisis before any attempts at peace were made. The potential OEN leader also said that the attacks on Ocidenia's borders, as well as other places throughout the country, and not in the interest of the normal population.

With a degree in international relations, as well as a small amount of experience in politics on the international stage, the sixty two year old is more than qualified for the job as leader of Esquarium's largest organisation.

The current President of Britanno, Elizabeth Fletcher, applauded Williamson for his efforts to have a greater influence outside of Britanno, but reaffirmed her support for intervention in Ocidenia. Edward Field, the successor of Williamson as PM, was not available for questioning on the subject. It is likely the Britannon delegacy to the OEN will support the former PM's bid.

With just days to go until one of the biggest and most contested elections in Lyonese history, the Race for Prime Minister is heating up. Under the Constitution, a party with candidates contesting in at least 201/400 constituencies automatically enter the race for Prime Minister. The party leader is also the parties' candidate. While the Prime Minister is elected by winning the most seats, a party needs to gain a majority win in order to be the sole party in Government. If it doesn't have a majority, it is required to form a coalition with one or more parties (including non-Prime Ministerial parties) as long as that coalition forms at least 201 seats.

RALF GRECINSS PM, Lyonese Labour
Grecinss swept to power in 2009's election despite a fear of a loss of support after Labour's previous leader and Prime Minister resigned the same day he called for elections. Public support for Ralf Grecinss has been high up until this year after his "ignoring" of possible military action against Lyonese territories in the troubled south-eastern region, continuing neutrality and a defeat of a motion to ignore the Glartinian referendum which many saw as a vote of no confidence. Despite this, he still hopes for re-election.

IVAN HARLMORR, Unity Party
At 36, he could be about to become the youngest Prime Minister in Lyonsland's 217 years as a democracy. His ideas for Lyonsland to become the multi-cultural capital of the continent include criminalizing all forms of hate speech and discrimination as well as "Increasing the freedom for Lyonese people, regardless of their skin color, sexual or ethnic orientation or how much money they have." His beliefs of self-determination include support for Glartinian independence making Harlmorr the only main candidate to voice his support for the motion. He also wants to increase the powers of the Island Territories with a goal to give them referendums of independence if he is re-elected for a second term. He believes that the economy should be able to grow by exporting goods and encouraging tourism and not by cutting public sector jobs.

JOHANNA CARL, Progressive Party
Another young candidate, Carl is 42 and is a mother of three. She is seeking to become the first ever female Prime Minister which seems to be a trend across the north-west of Esquarium. She says that she'll prove that "Women can do better", also stating quite bluntly that "Men are the reason this continent is a battlefield". Despite her harsh feminist approach, Carl wants to push further with military and diplomatic alliances as well as definitely breaking Lyonsland's silence of military neutrality. She is also in favour of monitoring and limiting citizenships of immigrants and freezing tax rates, citing that current economic growth must not be altered.

KALEB HARTENN, Lyonese Jahistic Party
A party that has been making headlines all across Esquarium (for mostly all the wrong reasons), the Jahistic Party opened quarters in more than 250 constituencies in the last 12 months alone. Hartenn says he'll bring "The wishes and ideals of the Lyonese people" to power, but others simply think he is trouble. An ideology that Lyonsland should dissolve the state and the monarchy has been slashed, but not as much as the idea that "Lyonsland should, one day, become a Unolian state" to which thousands of people marched in protest and petitioned the government to revoke the LJP's Prime Ministerial candidacy. He also wants Lyonsland to join the Triumvirate.

DAVID ST. ADAM, Patriotic Front
St. Adam has always been a controversial figure. The far-right activist has been known to express his opinion. He thinks of homosexuality as a "destruction of moral society", that "non-whites and foreigners are disgusting and vile sub-human scum" and that "Atheists will pay for their sins". He wants Lyonsland to "rediscover its Christian roots" and says that devolution in the Island Territories is "pointless and should be revoked" and Lyonsland should reclaim its former colonies. These claims have been criticized and disapproved of by politicians and members of the public alike.

NOTE: Due to the referendum of independence in Glartinia occurring simultaneously with the election, Glartinia won't vote in the election. This means that 48 seats won't be elected and the number needed for an absolute majority is 177. If Glartinia votes to remain in Lyonsland, a region-wide by-election will take place in June to elect their 48 Sashausen members.
TVL 1, TVL 2 and TVL 24 will broadcast extensive coverage of both the election and the referendum in Glartinia on May 2 and 3. Extensive updates and live streaming is available on the TVL website, tvl.co.ly.

@ChristianLyoneseandProud Please tell me you're joking, right? David St. Adam is the biggest lunatic of a politician I've ever seen. There's a reason he the PF won't ever win an election.

PANSBERG: With the elections coming up in other a month, the candidates have been revealed. Current President Marc Jorgensen (Conservative) has been rumoured by some to step down as the Conservative Leader, but Conservative sources say this is untrue. Other than Marc Jorgensen, here is a list of the candidates.

Kristian Orqbaald, Labour
Image
The veteran Labour leader, who has Silbodalian roots, is one of the top candidates of Jorgensen's four contenders to take the Presidential spot. He has been the Labour leader since 1996, but has never been elected president.

Mathias Surensen, Liberal
Image
Another veteran, but Surensenn was elected leader of the Liberals aged 34, in 1992. He was also the Leader of the Opposition in Jorgensen's current term. The top contender against Jorgensen.

Janara Skyvaald-Leonardsen, Socialists
Image
Recently becoming the Socialist leader, in 2012, after Brian Nielsen retired aged 62, Skyvaald-Leonardsen has been in politics since 1993. Her half-brother, Mahmut Mahadsen-Skyvaald, is also a member of the Socialist party.

Thomas Haayvalck, Semar Independence Party
Image
Hailing from the small town of Bilde, Haayvalck is the newest in Politics. Becoming a SIP member in 1998, and taking over the reigns in 2010, Haayvalck is an unlikely candidate due to being a member of Semarland's most notorious political group and his small political experience.

Quesley Announces Candidacy for OEN Secretary General

Image

MANN— William Quesley, Prime Minister of Bleckonia from 2011-2014, announced yesterday that he intends to run for OEN Secretary General. The former prime minister is currently the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and the Member of Parliament for Rutland. He states that he intends to oppose the Triumvirate Alliance in the OEN, calling it "the biggest threat to peace in Esquarium in decades."

He is also running on a platform of minimal OEN intervention in the affairs of individual nations: "The OEN is a supranational community that should focus on international policy, not on micromanaging the affairs of its member nations. Really, the only say it should have regarding domestic affairs is prevention of human rights violations." He also states that the leader of the OEN should not be completely neutral: "The leader of an international organisation dedicated to preserving peace should favor those nations that work toward that goal, such as Namor and Ainin, and oppose nations that seek to expand their influence at the expense of peace, such as Unolia and Koyro. However, the leader should be neutral when possible." Quesley also believes that the OEN should take a more active role in the Ocidenian crisis and hold peace talks to try to end the conflict.

Quesley is experienced in international policy, serving as the Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2008 under the Conservative Yeats Government and as ambassador to East Luziyca from 1984 to 1988.

He states that if he wins the elections, he will resign his post as leader of the New Democratic Party and Leader of the Opposition. The position would then transfer to current Deputy Leader of the Opposition Martha Ramsey.

Anti-Jahistic Protests ensue, Parliament and Council in turmoil

RENABA'I:

In april 22, a massive number of Anti-Jahistic activists storm the streets of the central Narayan District in the State Capital of Renaba'i. Democrat, Communist, Christian and Authorist activist groups, mainly the Hegoiakon Lekhrem, marches with red and blue banners and flags, chanting for John Vinayabanapati to stand down from the Parliament. Violence is now ensuing and riots around the city begin, forcing the National Army to step forth. As of today, the capital is a total battleground.

Our Holy Rajah, Sri Puraw Vardhana has been denouncing the violence around Renaba'i, calling for peace. As of now, Our Holy Rajah has been at dialogues with major Political officials and religious leaders of Victoriala, mainly with Æthelric XXVI, grand prior of the Teatran Church.

There has been no word with Mr. Vinayabanapati or the leaders of the activist groups.

Foreign Affairs Ministry slams Luziycan troop presence in Riro-Katranjiev border as "provocative"
No need to turn Riro dispute into war, says Seung Ngai
April 27, NMR 2365

BAICHENG, RIRO/NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - Namor's Foreign Minister Seung Ngai called the deployment of Luziycan soldiers to the border between the Riro region and Katranjiev proper "provocative" and likely to make things worse.

As the referendum which will decide whether Riro will gain sovereignty or not is nearing, the central government in Krasimir, Katranjiev is stepping up its game in trying to prevent Riro's citizens from acquiring independence by urging Riroese residents to vote for "autonomy within Katranjiev," which hasn't been so successful due to perceptions among many Riroese that "autonomy" in the Katranjian context is a code-word for maintaining the status quo, meaning that Riro will stay influenced by the decisions from Krasimir.

Prime Minister Viktor Kahut of Katranjiev announced that he has authorized the deployment of Luziycan troops near the duchy of Talnakh, the only region in Riro dominated by ethnic Luziycans, where the border of so-called "Greater Riro" is located. In addition, the Katranjian army has been sent to the border between Namor and Riro. According to Kahut, these acts were taken "to protect [Katranjiev] from Namorese invasion," in response to the recent massing of Namorese Liberation Army troops to the border with Riro to protect the frontier from illegal emigration ever since the Huankun incident, when hundreds of Namorese citizens illegally crossed into Riro to join pro-Namorese protests across the region.

Supporters of independence in Baicheng, Riro. Faced with massive
uprisings against their rule, Katranjiev is trying to make sure the
forces of "autonomy" win over the stronger calls for an independent
Riro which will serve the interests of that region's long-subjugated
Namorese ethnicity

Although satellite images show Luziycan troops haven't stepped foot on Riro yet, analysts say they might in the coming hours if Katranjiev feels they "see" more action coming from Namor.

In a press conference, Seung Ngai said that Katranjiev has only stirred up more provocation.

"Things would've been not as bad if Katranjiev called on Luziyca to enter this situation. It is improper conduct, and just a step closer to the place we all don't want the Esquarian conflict to head," said Seung. "Katranjiev is taking a route, that is, in its best interests, shouldn't be taken, because this route is no more or less than provocation."

Seung said that the problem in Riro should be solved peacefully, and only between parties that deserve to be involved in this matter.

"There is no need to fight a war out of Riro," he said. "We don't want to fight a war out of Riro, either with Luziyca or Katranjiev. The problem in Riro is a Riroese-Katranjian-Namorese problem, not a Luziycan problem. No one should lure external parties into this unless they really want to start a fight.

"We express our utmost disappointment in Prime Minister Kahut of Katranjiev for making sure the conflict in Riro, which we---as do Riro's people---believe can be resolved through a simple referendum, will end in some form of military confrontation. But there is still hope," continued Seung. "Either Kahut undoes what he did, and perhaps no one will have to die for the independence of a people."

Riro is a region located between Luziyca, Katranjiev and Namor and is under Katranjian administration. Most of its population are ethnic Namorese, and receive representation from the central government in Krasimir.

Growing protests in the region in the past few weeks root from many Riroese desire for independence from Katranjiev, saying that Krasimir has failed to represent their interests.

A referendum is scheduled for April 29th on whether Riro should secede, become autonomous to Katranjiev, join Namor to stay the same.

I am not surprised. By authorizing the sending of Luziycan troops, Kahut has pretty much ruined his project in portraying Katranjiev as a "neutral" country in one day, after years of convincing the world that it is not a Luziycan satellite state. But now we know that even they understand that they are no different from Kofeiya. 97 2

Luziycan troops deployed to the Greater Riro-Katranjian border

Image
Luziycan soldiers in a military base in Talnakh.

TALNAKH, DUCHY OF TALNAKH - Viktor Kahut has committed political suicide. He has ordered the deployment of Luziycan troops to the blue line in Talnakh, dividing the duchy in two. To the east is geographic Riro, where a small Namorese minority resides, to the west is where most of the people in the duchy, the Luziycans live.

Namorese troops were seen massing at the border as it is apparent that they would attack. While it claims they are just trying to protect the border, Kahut determined that they would likely invade Talnakh, and as a result, he requested the deployment of Luziycan troops to Talnakh.

"The only purpose of the Luziycan troops," Prime Minister Viktor Kahut replied, "is to tell the Namorese that if they have any ulterior motives, such as expanding Riro to Grand Riro, or even Greater Riro where the Luziycan soldiers are being deployed to, they will back off. However, when everything is judged to be safe for withdrawal from Talnakh, we shall order that they return to their bases or to Luziyca."

However, his opinion rating has fallen to just 34% from 57% prior to the election, and many predict a Liberal majority or a Liberal-Liberationist coalition. Many say that the deployment of Luziycan soldiers was why his rating dropped, although his violent solution to preserve national unity played a key role in this drop, and that he has a snowball's chance in Hell to win this election now.

In Riro proper, as independence seems likely, the campaign has intensified, both for autonomy and independence. A fierce debate was held between both separatists and autonomists in Baicheng, and autonomy is taking hold in Trifonov, whilst the rest of Riro proper is all set to achieve independence by April 30th.

The Electoral Commissioner, Todor Sofianov said, "Due to the referendum, the Liberationists will remain serving until either Katranjiev achieves independence, in which case they will become vacant as we rejigger the constituencies for the election after this one. If autonomy wins, there will be by-elections in May for the MPs of the eastern duchies."

King Apostol XV announced, "On April 29th, I shall wish the people of Riro best of luck in choosing their self-determination, and we will respect their decision."

Linkomies: Let all Church of Nevanmaa bishops into the Chamber of Nobility or we'll leave move to the opposition
Image

Olavi Linkomies, Chairman of the Christian Democratic Party, has announced that unless the coalition adds 27 seats to the Chamber of Nobility for all bishops of the Church of Nevanmaa, the party will scrap its confidence and supply agreement

NEVANLINNA - Soon there might be 297 seats in the Chamber of Nobility. In a statement released earlier today, Linkomies announced that excluding 27 out of the 52 bishops from the Chamber of Nobility is against freedom of religion and the Constitution of Nevanmaa and concluded that that "if mister Rantala wants his legislation to continue enjoying the support of the KDP, he must reconsider whether it is beneficial to only allow 25 bishops to sit in the Chamber.

Valtteri Rantala declined to comment on Linkomies's statement, as did deputy prime minister Oskari Paasio. Rantala's cabinet only enjoys a majority of nine seats, meaning that he cannot afford to lose the confidence and supply agreement with the KDP. However, it is very likely that to avoid early elections, Rantala will have to accept Linkomies's demands which in turn might anger members of the DTP and SDP and further threaten the stability of the fragile coalition. DTP has stated that it supports separation of church and state, which conflicts with the fact that bishops of the state church are automatically given a seat in the Chamber.

The change itself, including all 52 bishops into the Chamber of Nobility, would not increase the Church's political power very much, as the absolute majority of peers would still consist of Lords. However, the increased number of bishops might make it more difficult to pass some progressive legislation in the future and hamper some of the efforts of the Rantala cabinet, including relaxation of racial laws and legalization of registered same-sex partnerships. In the Chamber, consisting primarily of unelected conservative aristorcrats, every vote is important.

Preparing for Elections
Riedne Bloise

It's election season again, and many parties in Braetia are stepping up with candidates for the position of Prime Minister. Alongside the Big Three, the Iglesian Party, the Bretian Popular Front, and parties currently without seats are fielding candidates for several districts, and their party leader has a shot at becoming Prime Minister. The Big Three parties and the Iglesian Party appear to have the lion's share of support, so their party leaders will be displayed and compared here.

Sara Hanover
Reform Party
Home District: Outer Oaia, Alget
Sara Hanover is practically guaranteed to regain a seat in the House of Legislature, owing to the huge support she has in her own district. The Reform-Labour coalitian's reforms are especially a boost to Hanover's popularity and her party's support (except in Ecra, of course). Hanover's goals for her second term is to cover a projected immigration spike by creating more jobs across the board, as well as reducing needless legislation and red tape. Says Hanover, "We need to make it easier for Bretian citizens to live, and not have them struggle through needless committees, hearings and stamps." Her main support base appears to be northern Alget, where she lives, as well as Vierte and the Ghantar community in Cayel.

Peter Tavonski
Labour Party
Home District: Serochor, Medden
Peter Tavonski is a fresh face in Bretian politics, edging out the previous Labour Party leader for the position after controversy surrounding the formation of the coalition with the Reformers. He plans on bringing some policies from his native Valeneska to the Bretian government, as well as classic Labour policies. He is concerned about the current situation in southeast Esquarium, and says that an intervention in Cortazur will be beneficial for both parties. Domestically, he believes that labour unions in Braetia should be given more power. Says Tavonski, "As Braetia grows, opportunities are vanishing. We need to make it easier for the working class to be successful without having to make too many sacrifices." His main support base appears to be Pembroke, Chestnut City and Iskerse.

Prec Resiana
Green Party
Home District: Sejon, Ecra
Prec Resiana's goals as party leader of the Greens is to cut ties with the monarchist movement in Ecra. He is making strong moves to shift the party towards the others on the political spectrum, through measures such as lowering the priority of levelling income taxes. One of his most radical goals is to introduce legislature that "will satisfy both the Bretian Orthodox Church and the general populace". He is interested in creating a new image for the Green Party, and hopes to possibly form a coalition with another major party. His main support base appears to be inner Ecra and rural Cayel.

Tano Pavis
Iglesian Party
Home District: Mountains, Drenle
Tano Pavis is quite a young candidate, rivalling even Sara Hanover. As party leader of the Iglesian party, he feels that "Bretian society is not tolerant enough" and plans to make Braetia a more open nation. He plans to decriminalise the possession of small amounts of marijuana, further lessen trade barriers with Arkiasis and New Silbodale, possibly enacting an open borders policy with either, and intervening in the current situation in Cortazur and Xainithiakos. Says Tano, "The nations across the ocean from us need our help, and we should focus on strengthening ties with nations in this region. Braetia has the capability of becoming a global power, and we need to show our strengths to the world." His main support base appears to be Drenle, Tartorin and metropolitan areas of Medden and Brethes.

Pluricontentalist victory: Asenath to join Luziyca

Image
Congressional palace in Askatasuna

ASKATASUNA, ASENATH - This Associated Free State of Asenath has come out to vote. Out of the 37,109,717 eligible voters, 73% (27,090,093 persons) came out to the polls to vote in the referendum whether to achieve independence, join Luziyca proper, or remain an Associated Free State. And the pluricontentalists in Asenath were glad of the result.

The results were as follows: 18,963,065 (70% of those that turned out) voted to join Luziyca proper, 7,856,127 (29%) voted to keep the status quo as an Associated Free State, and 270,901 (1%) voted for independence. As a result, the Senate of Luziyca has announced that Azena will be added as an official language alongside Geadish, English, Luziycan, Swedish, and Namorese, confirming that Asenath will enter as a constituent republic, or at least part of it.

The coastal eogera of Asenath (Haclav, Handia Eskuko, Novi Greenwich, Duna and Sud-Plyazh) support the "two state" solution, with the coast (most speak Luziycan and where most people live) becoming a state and the larger inland (by area which is majority-Azena speaking) enters as a constituent republic. Askatasuna would be the capital of the new state, but the new republic would have its capital in Juan Ibairen.

The inland eogera (Ipar Asenath, Lautada, Hegoaldeko Asenath, and Ekialdeko Mendiak) support the one-state solution, which has Asenath enter as a single constituent republic with its capital in Askatasuna.

Proponents of the two-state solution say that "the inland areas can develop and catch up to that of the coast, and preserve our language while we can prosper due to our tourism and economy."
The one-state solution says that "it is best for Asenath to enter as one constituent republic, since we can use the wealth of the west to help develop the east."

But for now, at the main square in Askatasuna, joyous crowds sing our anthem and wave our flag, even as the Senate decides how it is going to go.

President Breuvi Shjoraski congratulated the Azena on their decision to become part of Luziyca proper, saying that "we are now a full member of two hemispheres: the north and the south. We wish the best of luck in Asenath, and we will accomodate them as much as we can."

Besides the one or two state solution which would give this former colony two or four seats in the Senate, there is also a plan for an amendment to the expand the House of Representatives from 500 to 625 representatives, to accomodate Asenath and recent growth, although the lines will be drawn in the 2015 census before the elections. For now, they will give "15 overhang" seats in the House until redistribution occurs in 2015 before the elections, but the 2 or 4 seats will be left to the Senate.

For now, it remains an Associated Free State, but it is veering closer to becoming a full part of Luziyca. The Senate says that it will announce its decision by mid-May.
