Dasta Andolana outlines plans
Image
Johannes Sikari

PRASANTA, SINHAKO - A few weeks ago, Dasta Andolana (Outpost Movement, lit. Handhold Movement) was established by a well-known Shudri musician, 37-year old Johannes Sikari. Since then, it has grown to around 1,680 members, and after much discussion, Sikari has issued plans to help "ensure that Sinhako be adequately defended against racists and those who seek to prejudice us."

Johannes Sikari explained, "I have witnessed constant discrimination since I was a little boy: many people hated my family, though some of us were nice. I was in the east, and while things got better in recent years in Inleda, there is still a bit of racism. But the racism of the Lombards is quite sickening, and as the recent terrorist attack in Sinhako has shown against the border crossing, there is quite a bit of racism against us here. We do not wish for another terrorist attack on our soil, but if we do not expand, we will face more and more terrorism."

Sikari then outlined his plans: "I want for this movement to create dasta (outposts). We want to buy land, ideally on hills outside of Sinhako, and then to build towns on them. We want these towns to be connected to Sinhako as much as possible, and to form a buffer zone. We need to create infrastructure so that we can live just as well here as we can in Prasanta or Adara, and ensure that the buffer zone shall keep racists out of Sinhako. We do not want another crossing to be blown up, we want to live our lives in peace. But the only way we can do that is if we set up a buffer zone, an area of Ocelotian land under Ocelotian control where we, the settlers can monitor the area and help ensure that racists are not getting in." Already, he has eyed a hill near Konguevia which he seeks to name "Jaituna" or Olive, to set up a settlement.

He wants Jaituna to be the easternmost settlement and to house 25,000 people, with institutions like a hospital (like those in Adara and Prasanta), a primary and secondary school, as well as a community college, a shopping center, a library, and a farm to grow olives to produce olive oil for export.

The Dasta Andolana has currently set up a list of 45 planned settlements, with plans to group them into three districts of fifteen named "Inama" (Bounty), to the northeast of Sinhako, "Suryodaya" (Sunrise) in the southeast with Jaituna to serve as the headquarters for the district, and "Jagarti" (Revival) to be south of Sinhako. It seeks for it to follow the Sinhakan curriculum, to vote in Sinhakan elections, to have Sinhakan citizenship and to receive utilities from Sinhaka.

However, Helga Duta has criticized the Dasta Andolana, saying that "this area that is Sinhako is all we need to have. We can set up an effective defense system within this area, and that if we do follow those recommendations, we will not receive less threats, but rather, a lot more. We cannot take advantage of the generosity of the Ocelotians."

But Bunnu Padyatri from Firenze said, "It is the right of Sinhako to protect itself from racism any way it decides."

-DEVELOPING- MILLENNIAL POST DILEMMA: THE RESURFACING TO THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD
Previously solved in September 2014, the dilemma rises to Pavonistade again

Date: March 8, 2015

Writer: Haunt L. Eigh

Scientists and analysts, from an undergraduate university student to the head of the Research and Development organization, from around Pavonsitade are struggling to answer a question that was defeated perviously on September 1, 2014. It is the same question that forced the suicide of many well-known scientists and the attempted suicide of former President Benjamin Howler, and it appears that the Pavonistadian States must put aside its internal rivalry to face a common force: the millennial post dilemma.

The question that caused so many confusion was "Which is the more celebrated thread post: the 1000th post, or the 1000th reply?" This was asked by University of Gordhoss student Laurent Djakeulia in 2000, and until around 14 years later it was one of the greatest mathematic-scientific mysteries known to the Pavonistadian scientific community. It was only through the intervention of University of Vadopolis student Atokad Gninnaf (and her sister Elele) that the dilemma was answered and the whole country rejoiced.

However, the millennial post dilemma has arisen again, only concerning with the number 2000. Due to intense work that they acquired and the personal life they lead, the Gninnaf sisters are unable to answer the updated question, "Which is the more celebrated thread post: the 2000th post, or the 2000th reply?" This question attained widespread attention today, although some say it appeared as early as March 7/yesterday.

The ones to answer the zombie dilemma is, unsurprisingly, from another corner of Pavonistade. Professor Oat E. Key, who works at the International School of All The Things (ISATT) in Pavonistadeck, discovered the solution to the issue that so far lived much less longer than its predecessor (as well as the suicide of at least ten civilians). "There's no point in reviving this question," Key said to the PAN, "You just switch the numbers and you get the answer."

Key's response was put to test. A revised quotation from Atokad Gnninaf would be "[...] we found out that the 2000th post would be the 1999th reply, and the 2000th reply would be the 2001th post. It's clear now that, numerically speaking, the 2000th reply is more valuable and celebrate[d]." This is because the number 2001 (when speaking of post numbers) for the latter is greater than 2000 for the former. Simulations made by the scientific community verified Key's plans as the solution to the zombie dilemma. Pavonistadians took to the streets to celebrate the discovery, as well as for the 2000th thread reply.

Religious cults say that the 2000th thread reply is associated with Luziyca, unlike the 1000th reply which is associated with Pavonistade.

Prelog out of the government as the Monarchist Rally forms a minority government. Snap elections to be announced in the next days.

Belgrev, Vozergovnia - Ivana Prelog has vacated the official residence of the Premier of Vozergovnia after a brief encounter with Aleksandar Soltar, the new Premier. This comes after hours of negotiations in which the centrist Monarchist Rally managed to form a government with the centre-right Democratic Party and the sudden collapse of a coalition between Ivana Prelog's Vozergovnian People's Party and Soltar's Monarchist Rally.
Image
Aleksandar Soltar

Ms Prelog showed a straight face while Mr Soltar carried a wide smile and happily proclaimed the ''start of a new era'' for Vozergovnia. He recognised the limitations of the minority government he had formed and admitted to the possibility of being able to do very little in terms of governing. For that reason, he has asked the State President, Daario Hervat, to dissolve the Zabor, the national legislature, and call the electorate to the polls. It is unclear when a referendum on the monarchy will be held but Mr Soltar has shown a revival of the monarchy.

Soltar has said he wants the Zabor to vote on a bill renaming the country. Members of the Monarchist Rally have suggested a change from Democratic Republic of Vozergovnia to Vozergovnian Free State, Vozergovnian Commonwealth and even Commonwealth of Vozergovnia but it is unclear which one will be chosen by the coalition to be sent to the national legislature although the bill is expected to pass; the population is overwhelmingly monarchist and legislators are likely to use their perceived monarchism while campaigning.

Mr Soltar has promised to maintain most reforms and measures introduced by the previous government; he claims the restoration of the monarchy will be the key difference between both governments.

For now, the political situation remains in a perpetual evolution; it is not known whether a minority government relying solely on the electorate's support of monarchism and especially the restoration of the national Crown which was deposed after the country's occupation and illegal annexation will be able to survive on promises of restoration and revival. At this moment Aleksandar Soltar is the country's premier but upcoming elections or even another sudden coalition collapse could change that and put previously unheard-of politicians into power or perhaps even Ivana Prelog who was clearly displeased by having to leave the government in humiliation while desperately moving out all of her belongings from 14 Rolstar Street, the Premier's official residence!

Sakatian military withdraws out of Ionland following ceasefire

Acting President Komarov declares ceasefire and orders withdrawal out of Ionland

March 8, 2015
Plavagrad, Sakatia - - Acting President Komarov ordered the withdrawal of the Sakatian Armed Forces out of Ionland following a ceasefire agreed to by both sides. The last Sakatian soldiers crossed the border earlier today.

The Sakatian Ministry of Defense announced that a ceasefire was agreed during negotiations in Bethlehem, where deceased Acting President Ansonov conducted negotiations with Ionland's President.

Current Acting President Victor Komarov said he will honor the ceasefire and said the country will begin reviewing options for the Sakatian proposed Demilitarized Zone between Sakatia and Ionland.

The casualties for the Sakatian military was 187 dead and 786 wounded. An additional 19 million Sakatian Dengi's worth of damage and destroyed military equipment was also recorded. The Ministry of Defense said a full-scale review of the armed forces performance will be conducted to help detect deficiencies in training and tactics.

Ionites celebrate Sakatian defeat
Image
In Conghaile mass celebrations broke out over the defeat of the Sakatian invasion earlier.
Ionland - After the new acting president of Sakatia announced the withdrawal of Sakatian forces from Ionite territory, mass celebrations broke out throughout Ionland.

In Conghaile, over 500,000 people swarmed the streets with flags, banners, and musical instruments in reaction to the news. However amongst the celebrations there is a noticeable bittersweet mood in the crowd as over 211 people died and 850 people were injured in the conflict. One protester claimed that "We will never forget those brave Ionite soldiers that gave up their lives for Ionite freedom and we also will never forget those civilians that were viciously murdered by the Sakatian imperialists". Along the Ionite-Sakatian border, soldiers are cheering and civilians pelt the defeated, withdrawing Sakatian forces. President Huntleigh has announced that next Monday, March 16 a special ceremony will be held to honor the memory of all those that were killed in the conflict.

President Huntleigh alongside the announcement gave a speech,

"Even though we may have won this conflict, we have no doubt that the Sakatian war machine will come back to our doorstep and start another conflict with us, peace and loving, people. Which is why we all must be vigilant of our neighbors, internationally and at home. By the end of the week I plan on having a law put in place which bans all Sakatian travel to our nation and will halt all flights to Sakatia. The Sakatian menace proved their true intentions when they threw down the first peace proposal. They do not like us, but I say, to bad! Us Ionites have been here since for nearly seven thousand years, and we will be here for seven thousand more years and many more! Ianann go bragh!"

Connors Announces Standing Politburo Reform
First Politburo Reform Since PRA '15

Chairman Thuman Said:
The Wind of the Sails of the Republic
and Her Allies Moves Forward
To the Final and Ultimate Victory
-- Speech to AotP, 1/29/10
Chairman Jacob Connors announced the creation of a new Standing Political Bureau in accordance to the Party Reform Act of 2014/2015. His appointments were approved en masse by the Provisional Political Bureau of the All-Union Libertarian Party by a voice vote.

According to a memo released by the Chairman's Office, the shift "reflected the Chair's desire for modernity and progress and his approval of the decision made by the former National Committee on the Party Reform Act. We await the 2015 Party Congress in June to complete the transition from the old Jahistic Party of Unolia to the new, united Party. We believe this upholds Jarrod Thuman Thought and provides more opportunity to promote and exercise the idea of collective rule with consent of the Revolution."

Party/Military spokeswoman and General Alicia Reinman recieved a promotion to First Secretary of the Party and was also named the First-Ranking Vice-Chairwoman of the Jahistic Defense Commission. She is the first woman and openly gay JLF member to reach the post. Ryan Thuman, son of the late Great Leader Chairman Jarrod Thuman was promoted from 7th to 3rd rank as he approaches graduation from the Jahistic Youth Corps and plans to attend Hae Jae Bon Military Academy. He received National Committee praise for his managing of the GUS in the Brookopolis Incident.

Thuman's move to 3rd prompted a demotion of Ukrudan Hai Kai Lee, who is the longest serving member of the Standing Committee (since 2005) from 3rd to 4th. He was retained as the Party Secretary of Foreign Affairs in a voice vote without dissent. Matthew Buling, the Jarrod Thuman-era Grand Admiral of the Jahistic People's Navy was retained as the Vice-Marshal of the JPN, although suffering a demotion from 4th to 6th.

A new addition to the SCJPU was Chendiao native Kim Lee Pyung, who was confirmed as the Secretary of Agitation and Propaganda back in December. He was promoted to the Standing Committee after the PRA made that office an automatic seat on the Committee. He sits as the 5th ranked member.

Chris Terry, the young thirty-one year old who has been serving for two years already, was retained as the Special Envoy to the Triumvirate Alliance but was demoted to eighth.

The full list of the new members of the Standing Committee as confirmed by the Provisional Political Bureau are as follows:

Pro-Salkov supporters storm Tulsk provincial headquarters

Protesters demand Salkov be restored to power and Sakatia re-invade Ionland

Image
Protesters following the storming of the provincial administrative building

March 9, 2015
Tulsk, Sakatia - - Protesters who are aligning themselves with exiled President Vladimir Salkov broke through police lines and captured the Tulsk provincial administrative building. Reportedly masked gunman were among the crowd that stormed the building. The Tulsk Police reportedly refused to use force and simply moved out of the way of the protesters. The Tulsk Provincial Governor resigned from his post following negotiations with the protesters. The commander of the Tulsk Police also resigned and the provincial head of the Sakatian Federal Police "fled" to Omsk.

The protesters announced that deposed President Salkov will make a speech declaring a "new Sakatia" outside the Tulsk administrative building on Tuesday. The State Security Service said yesterday that they presume Salkov would make a "unexpected return" in the coming week in northern Sakatia. Acting President Komarov said he was "outraged" at the actions of the local and federal police and is going to hold a urgent cabinet meeting later today.

Protests were also underway outside the provincial administrative buildings in Ozergrad and Karpovo in north Sakatia. The protesters demanded the resignation of the Liberal Party led government in Plavagrad and deposed President Salkov returned to power. United Sakatia had a large support base in northern Sakatia, usually gaining over 75% of the vote. Tulsk also was the capital of the People's Republic of Sakatia, which existed from 1955 to 1995.

New Revolutionary Cycle announced
Image
President Huntleigh earlier announced the newest revolutionary cycle which calls on all Ionites to combat reactionary ideologies and
revisionist elements in Ionite society and abroad in fellow revolutionary republican parties
National Assembly building, Conghaile - It has been three years since the last revolutionary cycle ended which focused on cultural resurrectionism in Ionland and other Celtic nations. The last cycle resulted in the Celtic League being formed, new history being found, and new foreign programs allowing greater ways to learn Celtic languages for internationals in Ionland.

This new revolutionary cycle focuses on what Marshal Blake Huntleigh sought out to do in the Great Republican Revolution of 1916 which grandson, Nicholas Huntleigh seeks to finish. The cycle calls for all Ionites to combat reactionary ideologies that are found throughout the world, internationally and at home. President Huntleigh labeled ideologies like Jahisticism, Liberationism, Codifinism, Matteryorkism, and Aalkjerism as reactionary. He claims that these ideologies cause great suffering for all people and that these ideologies should be studied and critiqued to help educate the people of the world why these ideologies are flawed.

This new revolutionary cycle also calls on all Ionites to combat revisionism within Ionland. President Huntleigh declared that, "There are revisionist elements in our society that seek to destroy the unity that we have built up for nearly one hundred years in this great republic. These same revisionist elements also seek to destroy the very republic that we live in by transforming it into some butcher state. I will not allow this to happen in my lifetime".

Finally, the new revolutionary cycle will increase international funding to revolutionary republican parties and also to revolutionary socialist and communalist parties to help aid those parties in combating their own internal issues and help expand their influence over reactionary parties.

BREAKING NEWS
THE FINAL HOURS OF AH442
Having gone through the data in its black boxes and collected data from eyewitnesses and the associates of victims,
The Transportation Safety and Security Bureau has released a timeline of the final flight of Air Hearadh Flight 442.

Image
A still taken from the dashcam footage of a car passing through the suburb of Tranh Dau, showing AH442 plunging into the ground.

DANH DAP, QIANRONG- MARCH 9th, 2015 - Having analyzed the data in the flight data recorder, the cockpit audio recorder, the sights seen by eyewitnesses, and from what families and friends received from the victims, the Department of Transport and Energy's Transportation Safety and Security Bureau has released a timeline that it says documents the final three hours of Air Hearadh Flight 442. This timeline explains why the plane did not carry out the planned attack on Yucheng, why the plane came down where it did, why the radio went silent, and what passengers meant when they told their families they planned to fight back.

The following timeline has not been edited by Radio Free Qianrong, and is the original timeline published by the Transportation Safety and Security Bureau. It can also be found on the TSSB's webpage. The Scotian government has not yet responded to or verified this account; it is the official Qianrongese account of events. We hope that publishing this account answers the questions regarding AH442.

Sunday, 1:19 PM: Air Hearadh Flight 442 pulls away from the terminal at Kilcandula International Airport in Kilcandula, Hearadh, Scotia. The flight is carrying 153 people- 61 Scotians and 92 Qianrongese, 145 of whom are passengers and 8 of whom compose the aircrew. The pilot in command is Captain Eoin Cauaian of Scotia, the first officer is Shin Leng-Yi of Qianrong, and the chief flight attendant is Tran Van Huong of Scotia. The eventual hijackers- Khong Tren Co, Phan Kinh Huong, Nguyen Doi Lam, Quan Nhan Dien, Matapang Eskosyang, Salungatol Pambilang, and Qiang Cheng-Dan- are all on board as passengers.

1:23 PM: AH442 is cleared for takeoff by air traffic control at Kilcandula International. The flight's end destination is Zheng Hye-Jeou International AIrport in Yucheng, Xiongyue, Qianrong; AH442 is expected to arrive at roughly 4:30 PM, and is then slated to make a final flight of the day from Yucheng to Aberlefen that evening. In conversation with air traffic control, Cauaian says that he expects a smooth flight, citing good weather in Scotia and Qianrong. Shin jokingly tells him "don't jinx this, Eoin."

1:46 PM: AH442 checks in with air traffic controllers in Portellen, West Tuhao, Scotia. No abnormalities are reported by Cauaian or Shin, nor detected by air traffic control; nothing unusual has yet appeared in the black boxes.

2:28 PM: AH442 checks in with air traffic controllers at Phuong Bac International Air port in Hai Nang, Hon Dao, Qianrong. Once again, no abnormalities are reported by Cauaian or Shin, nor detected by air traffic controllers, and black box data remains normal.

2:52 PM: Eoin Cauaian contacts air traffic control at Phuong Bac International to report "some sort of scuffle" outside the cockpit. On the cockpit voice recorder, Shin asks if they should lock the door. Cauaian responds in the negative, saying he is confident that the flight attendants can handle whatever is occurring.

2:57 PM: The cockpit voice recorder picks up the sound of the cockpit door being opened; Shin tells the individuals in the cockpit- believed to be Phan Kinh Huong, Nguyen Doi Lam, Salungatol Pambilang, and Qiang Cheng-Dan- to leave. This is followed by a scream of pain. Cauaian issues a mayday call to air traffic control, but shortly thereafter the hijackers sever radio control. The cockpit voice recorder has the sounds of a fight, ending in a dull thud. One of the hijackers, believed to be Pambilang, tells Qiang to pilot and Nguyen to co-pilot.

3:01 PM: Qiang instructs Pambilang to check on the other hijackers- Quan Nhan Dien, Matapang Eskosyang, and Khong Tren Co- and to make sure order is being kept in the cabin.

Passenger Sean Magpaolon calls a friend in Kilcandula, saying that he "has received permission" to use his phone. Magpaolon tells his friend to tell Magpaolon's family that he loves them. When the friend asks if Magpaolon is alright, Magpaolon says that everything is alright, but insists that the friend relay his message. The friend agrees and Magpaolon hangs up.

3:06 PM: Qiang uses the airplane intercom to tell the passengers that they have taken control of the plane and killed the pilots. Qiang says that they have a bomb, and tells the passengers that they will land the plane at Phuong Bac International Airport and present a series of demands to the Qianrongese and Scotian governments.

There is sounds of a brief struggle, probably between the hijackers and the flight attendants. The fight ends with a dull thud followed by a series of shrieks.

3:23 PM: Air traffic control in Hai Nang loses all contact with the aircraft. They inform air traffic control at Zhiming International Airport in Shanliang, Xinjiao, Qianrong that AH442 has gone missing. Air traffic control informs the National Self-Defense Forces, saying "incident has occured with AH442, location unknown and condition uncertain", reporting its last known coordinates over the East Namor Sea and hypothesizing a mechanical error. The NSDF responds by saying that they will search from AH442 as soon as any planes are available.

On the plane, Qiang uses the intercom to tell the passengers to remain seated. He tells them that they will instead be landing the plane in Yucheng as part of an agreement with the NSDF. Cauaian- apparently grievously wounded but still alive- calls out that there is no agreement and that the terrorists plan to crash the plane into the National Palace. One of the hijackers silences Cauaian, presumably killing him.

3:31 PM: Alasdair Tambuadhco, a passenger, calls his wife and says that his plane has been hijacked. He says that one of the flight attendants, believed to be Tran Van Huong, was stabbed by the hijackers and is dead. He tells her that he loves her and hangs up before she can respond. Another passenger, Nguoi Ngay Thang, calls his parents to say that the passengers are contemplating the concept of planning a mutiny. "We're going to block them, harass them wherever they can... we won't let them crash the plane in Yucheng."

In the cockpit, Pambilang complains to Qiang and Nguyen about the choice of target. "We shouldn't be attacking something symbolic," he says. "Why don't we attack something that matters? If we killed those bastards in the Legislative Hall, or the Yellow or Blue Houses, that would actually help the Alliance." Qiang rebukes Pambilang. "You underestimate morale, and the wisdom of our Supreme Leader," he responds. Pambilang leaves to check on the other hijackers. With Pambilang gone, Nguyen says to Qiang that his brother will be participating in another ASQ attack, on "one of the camps of those damned vermin-" possibly a reference to an upcoming attack on a Scotian, Zepuhan, or Qianrongese military base.

3:54 PM: Passenger Shou Yung-Fei texts his fiancee, saying "the plane has been hijacked, they have a bomb, we're going to rush them and try to regain control." Shou claims the passengers took a vote while the hijackers were distracted and in or near the cockpit, and "[have] planned a revolt." Flight attendant Nguyen Ngoc Vinh reportedly requests to get out the food cart to serve drinks and food to the passengers; Pambilang goes to the cockpit to consult Qiang and Nguyen. Qiang allows the flight crew to serve food and drink, if Pambilang and Nguyen supervise them.

Another passenger, the pregnant Nho Hoa Binh, calls her husband. He does not pick up. Nho says that "there's a little something wrong with the plane," but says that "I'm fine, we're fine, I just want to tell you how much I love you." A flight attendant, Niamh Maguinaldaugh, calls her sister and tells a very different story. "Oh God, they're going to kill us, we're going to die," Maguinaldaugh says. "I'm so sorry that I'll never be coming back."

3:59 PM: Passenger Yang Sheng-Qi calls his eldest son to say that his plane has been hijacked, and that the terrorists have knives and have killed two flight attendants and a passenger. Yang comforts his son and says that he was immensely proud of what his son accomplished. As his son struggles to respond, a voice in the background- probably Nguyen Ngoc Vinh, who is distributing from the food cart- calls out, "Are we ready, everyone? Okay, let's roll!", signaling the start of the passenger revolt.

4:01 PM: Air traffic control at Zheng Hye-Jeou International Airport reports AH442 overdue after it does not show up on radar, and contacts air traffic control at Zhiming International. Air traffic control at Zhiming tells air traffic control at Zheng Hye-Jeou that AH442 is missing and that the National Self-Defense Forces are investigating the matter.

The cockpit voice recorder picks up Pambilang slamming the cockpit door shut and locking it. He tells Qiang that the passengers killed Phan and Nguyen, and have trapped Quan, Khong, and Eskosyang in the aircraft lavatories. Shortly thereafter, a heavy banging appears in the recording; Pambilang tells Qiang that the passengers may be trying to use the food cart as a ram to knock down the door.

4:02 PM: A sharp breaking sound, presumably the door breaking, appears in the cockpit voice recorder. The revolt, led by Nguyen Ngoc Vinh and passenger Domhnall Dimaunathan, enters the cockpit. In a last ditch attempt to neutralize the passengers, Qiang uses the outflow valve- intended for use in cases of overpressurization- to depressurize the cabin; oxygen masks do deploy, but the passengers restore partial cabin pressure. Qiang also attempts to change the plane's pitch and yaw violently to halt the revolt; the sounds of glass shattering and overhead bins opening is audible. This too fails to stop the mutiny.

The flight data recorder reports a sharp change in direction at this point, with the plane's course changing so as to be directed at Seongyun, Shengsu, Qianrong. Dimaunathan, a former pilot, reestablishes contact with air traffic control in Hai Nang but does not make any radio communication; other passengers remove Pambilang and Qiang from the cockpit, possibly killing one or both of them. Dimaunathan tells Shou Yung-Fei that their goal is to land the plane in Shanliang or Seongyun safely- and quickly, putting the plane at maximum throttle. At this point, the plane is far off course and behind schedule.

4:22 PM: The cockpit voice recorder picks up the sounds of screams; Nguyen runs into the cockpit and tells Dimaunathan and Shou that the three remaining hijackers- Eskosyang, Quan, and Khong- have left the lavatory and killed some of the passengers, and are approaching the cockpit. Shortly thereafter, the three enter the cockpit, attacking Nguyen, Dimaunathan, and Shou, presumably killing all three. During this struggle, the controls are jerked violently repeatedly, sending the plane in a southerly direction. Eskosyang, Quan, and Khong use the broken door and the food cart to barricade the entrance to the cockpit; Eskosyang says he will pilot, and instructs Quan and Khong to guard the door.

Shortly afterwards, Quan says that they are too off-course to make it to Yucheng, and Eskosyang agrees- by this point, the plane is over Tuhao and too far south to feasibly reach Shanliang or Seongyun. Eskosyang says they will instead aim for the headquarters of Jufeng Avionics Corporation- a contractor for the National Self-Defense forces founded by Qianrongese Patriotic Front leader Jing Hui-Zong- located in downtown Danh Dap. Eskosyang once again severs connection with air traffic control and directs the plane towards downtown Danh Dap.

4:31 PM: The passengers apparently stage a second mutiny, led by three individuals believed to be passengers Manginia Katapusan, Zheng Bei-Shang, and Thanh Co Tong, successfully breaking into the cockpit. Katapusan, Zheng, and Thanh struggle with Eskosyang, Quan, and Khong for control of the plane. The plane veers off course, pointing now at the suburb of Tranh Dau instead of at the downtown district.

AIr traffic control at Khuc Thua Binh International Airport in Danh Dap, Duoc Thay, Qianrong attempts to contact AH442 repeatedly. Neither the hijackers nor the passengers responds to the calls. Air traffic control in Danh Dap contacts air traffic control in Hai Nang, Shanliang, and Yucheng, asking if they have any missing planes; when all three respond in the affirmative, Danh Dap contacts the NSDF to report that the missing AH442 has reappeared. The NSDF is still searching for the plane over the East Namor Sea, and says it is unable to respond immediately but will do so as soon as possible.

4:34 PM: The fighting continues as the plane loses altitude. During part of the struggle between Eskosyang and Zheng, one of them falls onto the controls, pushing the plane into a precipitous dive, captured by eyewitness video in the area. An attempt to reduce throttle and pull the nose up comes too late. Shortly afterwards, the plane crashes into a residential neighborhood in the Tranh Dau suburb. All 153 on the plane are now dead, as are 24 individuals on the ground.

Vladimir Salkov holds speech in Tulsk, military units defect

Salkov proclaims "Sakatian Christian Republic" vows to take Plavagrad

Salkov delivering a speech in Tulsk

March 10, 2015
Tulsk, Sakatia - - Deposed Sakatian President Vladimir Salkov delivered a fiery speech in Tulsk proclaiming a "Sakatian Christian Republic" and declaring himself President of "Liberated Sakatia". He claimed a "war of retribution" will be waged against the government in Plavagrad. Salkov compared the government in Plavagrad to a "headless chicken" and called Acting President a "puppet".

Three Sakatian National Guard brigades in the Tulsk region defected to Salkov, declaring allegiance to the Sakatian Orthodox Army. They took with them approximately 30 Type-84 tanks and 12 OT-85 armored personnel carriers, along with around 2,000 soldiers. The defectors locked their non-defecting comrades in their barracks last night and drove to Tulsk.

The rebels strengthened their hold on Tulsk, setting up checkpoints and seizing the international airport late last night. The Sakatian Air Force conducted several air strikes on the city, reportedly hitting the police HQ and the city jail.

Protesters in Karpovo, stormed the regional administrative building and declared allegiance to the "Sakatian Christian Republic". Protestors there also stormed the police HQ and armed themselves with weapons.

Acting President Komarov called Salkov a "criminal" and said Salkov's actions would lead to a "civil war". Komarov said the military will be mobilized to recapture Tulsk in the coming days.

Polls and Facts: The Sakatia-Ionite Conflict
Now on Polls and Facts; West Cedarbrook views the Sakatia-Ionite Conflict.

The recent friction in North Conitia between Sakatia and Ionland, recently complicated by an attempted coup in Sakatia has prompted a Wrycova Post/Cedarbrook Broadcasting System poll of Cedarbrookese attitudes about the conflict. The poll was taken March 4 - 8, before the Ansonov assassination. Across all segments of society, sympathy lies overwhelmingly in favor to the Sakatian cause. The depth of feeling does not include any military action to support Plavgrad directly, or place restrictions on Ionite commerce or diplomatic activity in the Kramden at this time. In this sense, the policies of President Feld as expressed by the Department of External Affairs, and informally to sources in Wrycova appear to be in line with public opinion.

Overall, the poll found 81% of respondents sympathetic to Sakatia, 5% in favor of Ionland in the conflict, with 14% reporting no opinion. When the question of non-military support for either side arose, 88% preferred non-involvement and 12% went for showing support for Plavgrad. No respondents backed Ionland on this question.

The preference for the Sakatian cause was seen across the political spectrum: Conservatives were 85% favorable, Libertarians 79% in favor, and those not associated with either party favored Sakatia by 70%. Only the non-associated registered above 5% sympathy for Ionland, at 8%. The non-associated group also showed the highest proportion of those favoring neither side, at 22%, followed by the Libertarians at 16%. Conservatives registered 11% in favor of neither side. Urbanites were most strongly supportive of Plavgrad, favoring the Sakatian side by 87% to 4%, with 9% supporting neither. Support for Sakatia fell to 76% among small town residents, and 63% for rural residents. In this breakdown, rural dwellers were least likely to support either side, at 28% compared to 17% for small towns, and 9% of the urban response. Rural areas showed the highest rate of Ionite support for any segment in the poll, at 9%.

Ethnically, both Galitzianers and Alsatianos were strongly supportive of Sakata. 85% of Galitzianers favored Plavgrad compared to 3% in favor of Ionland, with 12% choosing neither side. Sakatian support was slightly lower among Alsatianos at 76%, still far more than the 7% favoring Ionland, with 17% supporting neither.

Vladimir Salkov makes appeal for recognition of the 'Sakatian Christian Republic' as rebels crucify police commander

Salkov reaches out to all states for recognition despite the rebels attempts to travel back several centuries

Image
Salkov delivering a speech in Tulsk

March 10, 2015
Tulsk, Sakatia - - Deposed Sakatian President Vladimir Salkov delivered yet another fiery speech, this time making a formal declaration for recognition from Esquarian nations. Salkov asked all international organisations, including the Triumvirate, for recognition of the self-proclaimed 'Sakatian Christian Republic'. He said a 'constitution' had been devised and said the government in Plavagrad had lost legitimacy following the "retreat" out of Ionland.

Salkov announced the names of government officials of the new christian republic. The majority of them are former officials of his regime, including former Defense Minister Yalkev.

The rebels seized control of Tulsk International Airport and expanded their control across the province. They took control of 15 cities and villages. Most of the police commanders in the cities fled or surrendered. The police commander in Sokatova, a city of 67,000, was crucified by fighters of the Sakatian Christian Brigade, a extremist christian terrorist organisation that has flourished in the lawlessness of north Sakatia.

The rebels also captured the Ozergrad port, seizing Sakatia's 3rd largest port.

OGIE leader supports Sakatian Christian fundamentalists
"We are standing on the same line," said Anisim
March 10, NMR 2375

NAMO, CAPITAL DISTRICT - In a speech to fellow members, "Otekian government-in-exile (OGIE)" leader Valeriy Anisim voiced his support for the "Sakatian Christian Republic" amid the continuing unrest in Sakatia.
Image
Valeriy Anisim, leader of OGIE, said he supports Sakatian anti-
government insurgents

"In regards to the conflict going on in Sakatia now, I am really sympathetic towards the Christians in the country who are fighting the present government," said Anisim, referring to the group known as the "Sakatian Christian Republic" which was formed by deposed Sakatian leader Vladimir Salkov. "The rebels have grown stronger after members of the [Sakatian] National Guard defected from the government side. A rebellion, a reaction, is developing in Sakatia, and it is clear that the people are on the rebels' side."

Anisim compared Sakatian rebels to the so-called "plight of Otekians," noting that there are "few differences."

"In Sakatia, the Christians are opposed to a regime that seeks to curb their freedom. In Oteki [separatist name for Txotai], Christians are being oppressed by the Namorese government. There is repression in both countries, repression that can't be ignored. I understand why the rebels in Sakatia are fighting. We are standing on the same line." Anisim concluded that "if there's anything Mr. Salkov needs help in, don't count me out."

Anisim was speaking to the so-called "congress" of OGIE, which has been dominated by the "Christian party" since snap elections for OGIE were held in late January. The OGIE leader has been a longtime leader of the fundamentalist faction. He founded the so-called Oteki Libra Foundation, a charity group which ostensibly raises money to help Otekians who fled Namor following a rebellion but in fact uses a lot of its money to fund radical militants.

While this is a clear sign of OGIE support for the Sakatian rebels, analysts believe there is little the organization can do in actually aiding rebel forces, who are on the other side of the region. Few, if any, Otekians live in Sakatia, and up until now there has been little to no contact between the "government-in-exile" or the Salkov regime. However, analysts do not rule out the possibility of the Oteki Libra Foundation - which has money in bank accounts in several countries - donating money to the "Sakatian Christian Republic," or the sending of "diplomats" as a sign of recognizing the self-proclaimed state.

Sources close to Anisim and the Otekian National Coalition - a rival group consisting of less hardliner factions in the expat community that is opposed to the "government-in-exile" said Anisim's reaching out to Sakatian rebels is a bold move aimed at gaining more recognition for OGIE, in an effort to outdistance other expat organizations in the competition for influence.

"This once seemed really impossible, but after the Letter of Millions Anisim is becoming more confident in what [OGIE] can do," one source told PTH. "It's part of his plan in getting the [separatist] movement revved up."

Instability increased in Sakatia ever since an internal coup overthrew the former leader, Vladimir Salkov. Sakatia got itself into a brief skirmish with Ionland a few days later. Salkov declared the establishment of the "Sakatian Christian Republic," a self-proclaimed Christian fundamentalist state which sees the current government as illegitimate. This caused various fundamentalist militant groups to rise up, and even members of the Sakatian military to defect to the rebels' side.

This is a great time for the Namorese government to do two things: 1) Reach out to the Sakatian government and arm these people to the teeth; and 2) Reach out to the moderate Otekian exiles, form a pact so we can get rid of Anisim's gang once and for all. This can benefit everybody who's not insane! 80 79

RADIO LIBERTY NEWS
the official news radio program of Radio Free Qianrong

Hello to all of you listenining tonight, we at Radio Free Qianrong are glad you've joined us! It's March 10th today, this is Iligtas Nagsasalita, and you're listening to Radio Liberty News.

Otekian Qianrongese Association leader Myhrodniv Klitishko has said that the OQA does not support the so-called "Sakatian Christian Republic" formed by deposed Sakatian autocrat Vladimir Salkov, and has criticized Otekian president Valeriy Anisim for supporting the group. Salkov was deposed by the Sakatian legislature and ultimately replaced by the current acting president of Sakatia, Victor Komarov. Earlier today, President Anisim told other members of the Otekian government in exile that the Sakatian rebels were suffering much as Otekians do under Namorese rule.
In Sakatia, the Christians are opposed to a regime that seeks to curb their freedom. In Oteki, Christians are being oppressed by the Namorese government. There is repression in both countries, repression that can't be ignored. I understand why the rebels in Sakatia are fighting. We are standing on the same line... if there's anything Mr. Salkov needs help in, don't count me out.
While some in the Otekian government in exile- dominated by allies of President Anisim- agreed, some in the Otekian community did not agree with Anisim's declaration. In an interview given to RFQ's television branch, Liberty News Network, OQA Chairman Myhrodniv Klitishko described the Sakatian rebels as a disgrace to Christianity and human decency.
What we saw in Sakatia was an elected legislature acting with the support of much of the populace to depose a tyrannical ruler who did not deserve to lead the nation he was leading. Which, as someone living in Qianrong, is almost historically resonant. Salkov has little popular support outside of that northern region, he's lost the popular mandate and he was deposed by an elected representative body. Quite frankly, he is totally illegitimate.
But not only that, he's a disgrace to anyone who calls themselves a Christian. If you've seen or heard of what his little rebel fiefdom is doing- it should be sickening to any God-fearing Christian, it should be horrifying to any decent human being. He is committing acts of barbarism that are morally repugnant, morally reprehensible. He's not a Christian hero, he's a man using the veil of Christianity to torture and to murder.
I've always viewed the Otekian cause as one based in popular sovereignty and Christian morality. It's part of why I say that Namorese rule, where Lutheran Catholics are persecuted, where Otekians are maltreated and abused, where the occupation regime is stacked with collaborationists and settlers, is unjust and should end. The problem with Salkov is that he does not respect popular sovereignty and he does not respect Christian morality- and no Otekian should support him.
Valeriy Anisim has not responded to Chairman Klitishko's criticism; neither Salkov nor Komarov have responded to either side.

In a video released by the Alliance for Sovereignty in Qianrong into social media, ASQ Supreme Leader Ngo Huu Tra dismissed the official account of what occurred on Air Hearadh Flight 442, saying that it was folly made to try and diminish the sting of what is now the ASQ's most lethal attack yet.
The so-called account fabricated by the government is a mere propaganda ploy, made to try and conceal their humiliation at once again losing to the true forces of liberty, sovereignty, and righteousness. Not a word of their story is true.
Many have hypothesized that Ngo might be so desperate to say that the official account is faked is because it revealed that the passengers on AH442 had actively resisted the hijackers, even briefly reclaiming control of the craft. The determination of the passengers has been widely praised, with Prime Minister Le Gia Dinh describing them as heroes.
The passengers and flight crew onboard Air Hearadh 442, put simply, are heroes. In a situation that seemed hopeless, they struggled to save themselves and the lives of innocent people. They resisted the hijackers, and they fought them to the end. The innocents aboard AH442 did not die in vain; they died defending Scotia, they died defending Qianrong, they died fighting the evil in this world... They are heroes and martyrs for all good people.
While the Scotian government has not officially responded, the account published by the Department of Transport and Energy is widely accepted to be the best possible recollection of the events on AH442, documenting the hijacking, attempts to resist, confusion on the ground, and even potentially giving the National Self-Defense Forces an idea where the next ASQ attack might be.

The Qianrongese Shudri Congress has released an official statement saying that it does not view the issue of Sinhakan settlements as relevant to them, saying that the issue in question was for Sinhakan Shudri and Ocelotians. The issue arose following the rise of the Dasta Andolans movement, which advocates founding small Sinhako settlements in Ocelotian territory to guarantee the security of Sinhako following a series of anti-Shudri terror attacks. Many have criticized the idea, including Sinhako's interim leadership, who say the settlements- called dasta, or outposts, in Shudri- will only exacerbate Shudriphobia. While many Shudri outside of Qianrong emigrated to Sinhako, the overwhelming majority of Qianrongese Shudri remained in Qianrong due to a dispute over the usage of the traditional Jadana script used by Qianrongese Shudri, or the newer Latin script used by most foreign Shudri.

Well, that's the headlines from across Esquarium right now, folks. We'll be giving you updates, free of lies and bias, as news comes in. Thank you for listening to Radio Liberty News and for supporting Radio Free Qianrong- Free Media for a Free Nation. This is Iligtas Nagsasalita, signing off from Lumangdaungan. We wish you all the best. Have a good night.

Ocelot Isles Divided Over Dasta Andolana (Outpost Movement)
Image
Johannes Sikari, the prejudiced DA founder

The Shudri man known as Johannes Sikari and his organization, known as Dasta Andolana or the Outpost Movement, gathered widespread attention just two days ago after the former announced the intent for justified expansions beyond Sinhako.

Dasta Andolana was founded several weeks ago, and in a decent amount of time it consisted of around 1,680 members. Before Sikari was known across the country, there was a tragic attack at Point A perpetrated by Quentin Alessandro, who was found guilty and swiftly executed by firing squad. The movement became well-known after a Uklana interview with Sikari. The man told about how he was discriminated against and before he revealed his plan, he said "We do not wish for another terrorist attack [Point A explosion] on our soil, but if we do not expand, we will face more and more terrorism."

Sikari's plan is to build outposts known as dasta, which is in his organization's name. "We want to buy land, ideally on hills outside of Sinhako, and then to build towns on them. We want these towns to be connected to Sinhako as much as possible, and to form a buffer zone. We need to create infrastructure so that we can live just as well here as we can in Prasanta or Adara, and ensure that the buffer zone shall keep racists out of Sinhako." One of the proposed outposts would be Jaituna, or "Olive", which is to be established on a hill near Kongeuvia.

As usual there are unmindful critics who disregard the usefulness of such dasta. One of the critics is agrarian councilmember Hank Rupert, who claimed that "the dasta is the first step in the plans to utterly Shudrify the whole of the Ocelot isles [...] to eradicate the rightful Ocelotians that truly owns the islands and to contaminate the natural beauty with criminal influence." Gavin Bouchard, a local celebrity, believes that "the settlement gives way for more promises and more hopes that can either succeed or go bust." Some Shudri did not support Sikari's plans; an example is Sinhakese interim president Helga Duta, saying "[...] Sinhako is all we need to have."

Racist demonstrations are held after the intent to set up 45 dastas was revealed, and major cities from Kongeuvia to Eastardia saw hundreds or thousands taking to the streets. The slogan "Stop the Shudrification" and the hashtag #EndShudrification were wildly popular in the Ocelot Isles. Even though the bigoted attitude is rampant, there are plenty that are much more intelligent than to deny the right for the dastas to exist. Interim Governor-President Adelaide declares "Sikari and the outposts must be respected," and actress-activist Quinna Florens says "it is completely ridiculous to have racism run both unchecked and viral."

As tensions between the Shudri and the supremacists grow, one's fear of another anti-Shudri attack may increase. No governmental ministers or officials were available for comment, especially on the possibility of future racist terrorism.

Election Campaigning season in full swing in the Kingdom of Banija

ISTRIA- Parliamentary elections, after the successful conclusion of the Constitutional Convention which saw the Constitution ratified with a strong majority of 73% of the voters, with an 89% voter turnout, have led to the first national Banijan elections. The land has existed as a disunified Confederation, at best, and three distinct nations. You had the Slavs in the South who had their own nation of Herzegovina, whose monarchy has been adopted as the monarchy for the entire nation. These Slavs were mostly orthodox in religion, and mostly Serb and Montenegrin, though there were never any statistics taken on that.

There was the loose 'Banijan Alliance' which was mostly Croat and Albanian in the West, which is where our new nation gets its name from. The current capitol city, Istria, was the major city of that old region. And then, there was Azteca in the middle which comprised mostly all of the native population. These people have lived alongside each other for hundreds of years, with periodic spurts of violence until what is now deemed as the Civil War, which took place from the 1980s until 2 years ago. That was when all sides agreed that unification into one nation was the best possible option, and that unification actually happened.

With the end of the Constitutional Convention, a few key compromises came. The three regions that dominated the Peninsula for so long have finally been eliminated, and they will not exist again. The nation has a Capitol Region, and then 6 other regions in the nation. The 6 regions are are Moravica, Jagodina, Posavina, Visoko, Xalapa, and Oaxaca. Xalapa is the largest in land area, smallest in population, but also has demographics that lean heavily native, close to 75% of its population is native. Oaxaca has the next largest native population with 45%, and the Native population is non-existent elsewhere in the country besides the Capitol Region, where about 20% of the residents of Istria are Native. They have also compromised on giving foreign policy to the Monarchy, which was one of the most divisive questions of the entire Convention. They ended up deciding that "politics should stop at water's edge", and while establishing accountability measures for foreign policy, requiring Parliamentary approval in a number of areas, and giving the Parliament the sole power to budgetary legislation, foreign policy was given to the Monarch so elected officials could focus on improving the lives of the people.

With the new elections upcoming, there are four major parties campaigning in the elections for the National Assembly. Here they are.

The Green Republican Alliance of the Left

Image

Co-Leaders: Josep Artur(Radical Republican Party of Banija) and Virginia Fabiola(Green Party of Banija).
ideology: Far-left, Green, Huntleighist

These are the two major parties that did not support the Constitution as adopted by the Constitutional Convention. As they both share space on the far-left, the Radical Republican Party of Banija and the Green Party of Banija has united to form the "Green Republican Alliance of the Left" for national elections. The Radical Republicans are self-defined as a party that subscribes to the Huntleighism ideology that is a prominent movement on the left throughout Esquarium, while the Greens are more of the stereotypical left-wing Green Party. Even though they are currently slated to finish 4th, they have signaled that they are willing to support a government through a confidence agreement at any point, and since an outright majority for anybody is unlikely even in the First Past the Post system, their votes could be key in any upcoming Parliament.

The Social Democratic & Labour Party

Image

Leader: Ninoslav Novac
Ideology: Center-Left

The Social Democratic Union is the leading party of the center-left, and the early slight favorites to be able to form a government. Ninoslav Novac, the Prime Minister, is a very charismatic leader, and he seems to be able to unite both the left-wing factions and the more centrist factions of the party to make sure it is better able to appeal to the broad electorate. They have focused particularly on rebuilding infrastructure and reforming education within the country, and have proposed a controversial policy of a 'nuclear-free Banija', where all nuclear weaponry would be banned, by legislation, from Banija and its territorial waters. If they become the largest party, Ninoslav Novac has "no problems" with looking toward the Green Republican Alliance to form a confidence & supply agreement, which he said would be "much better" than a grand coalition.

The Conservative Party of Banija

Image

Leader: Gordan Filipovic
Ideology: Center-Right

The Conservative Party of Banija is trying to fight for the right to have the first ability to form a government, but once again, is slightly trailing the SDLP. This party has some ground to make up, but the party's strength will be turning out suburban voters. The typical strength would be rural voters who are of Slavian origin, but those voters are going to be picked off by the Christian Democrats, who are very socially conservative and economically conservative, and draw many votes from those areas. The challenge for Filipovic will be his ability to be able to draw enough votes from both sides to put his party, rather than the party opposite, in a position of power to get the first chance to establish a coalition government.

The Christian Democratic Party

Image

Leader: Marijo Stankic
Ideology: Right-Wing Christian Democratic, Socially & Economically conservative

The Christian Democratic Party is the strength of the right. The party of social conservatives, its rise is what will be seen by many as a rejection of the Conservative Party of Banija, as voters from the base look to the right to find a party that they can support. They might play spoiler by splitting votes with the Conservatives in marginal districts, swinging those areas to the SDLP. We will find out what they will support, but they have been clear from the beginning that they will not work in a government with the SDLP or the Green Republicans, without saying anything about the Conservatives, hinting that they would be willing to enter a coalition with them.

As the election comes closer, we will bring you polls and delve deeper into what issues Banijans are voting on this year, and hopefully bring about the results of a free and fair election.

Sakatian Orthodox Army terrorists begin massacring catholics in rebel controlled areas

Rebels deny they are killing anyone; call catholics "sub-human"

Rebels fighting in Prudok

March 11, 2015
Omsk, Sakatia - - Government forces began a offensive to capture the city of Prudok. However the offensive was met by stiff resistance and after over 24 hours of fighting rebels still control Prudok. The Ministry of Defense said that rebels used surface to air missiles to counter government airstrikes. The Sakatian Air Force lost 2 aircraft and 2 helicopters during the fighting. The army also lost several tanks and armored vehicles to rebel anti-tank systems. The government blamed the rebels access to massive weapons dumps in Tulsk and Ozergrad.

The rebels were accused by the government and by activists of killing catholics and others for their beliefs. Rebels in Novy Gorchka rounded up the local catholics and executed them one by one and then dumped their bodies into the local river. Similar activities occurred in Tulsk, with rebels blowing up the local catholic church diocese and crucifying the local bishop, calling him "sub-human".

Vladimir Salkov issued a proclamation declaring the Sakatian Orthodoxy the only legal religion within the "Sakatian Christian Republic", while Lutheran Catholicism and other religions were declared illegal and punishable by death. Salkov was also present at the crucifixion of the bishop.

Scotian Govt. vows "Action will be taken over AH442 hijacking"

Image
Dashcam footage shows AH442

ABERLEFEN, SCOTIA - The Scotian Government has officially condemned the hijacking and crash of Air Hearadh Flight 442, after a full investigation by the Ministry of Transport has corroborated the Qianrongese investigation regarding the hijacking by members of the militant Alliance for Sovereignty in Qianrong.

Speaking to reporters in front of the Qianrongese embassy in Aberlefen today, Tòiseach David MacLeod added that "action will be taken deal with the current ASQ threat which unfortunately has reached our shores. Rest assured, the actions by some of the passengers in a brave attempt to fight off the hijackers will not be in vain." The Tòiseach has also added that the Dàil will be able to vote on a proposal to send over 1,500 soldiers of the Royal Scotian Army and Marines to combat the ASQ by Monday morning.

The Alliance for Sovereignty in Qianrong, which has fought for the breakup of the country along ethnic lines, has stated that it carried out the hijacking in response to Scotia's "occupation" of West Tuhao (inhabited by ethnic Tuhaoese) and County Hearadh (whose population is closely related to the Mahusaynese in Qianrong). The islands have been part of Scotia since they were pawned off as a dowry by the Prince of Tuhao to King James III in 1352.

Deng Mianbao suggests Namor join the EU
Former NDP leader, presidential candidate calls Luzzy-run organization "most competent body around"
Наморайин | English

Retired politician, businessman and former New Democratic leader Deng Mianbao said it is in Namor's "best interests" to join the Esquarian Union, becoming perhaps the first prominent Namorese to say Namorese membership in the EU is a good idea.
Image
Deng Mianbao thinks Namor should join the EU

The 78 year-old Deng retired from politics after failing to win the New Democratic Party presidential primary in NMR 2368, as most people within the party endorsed Fu Wen as their candidate. Prior to that, he was seen as a notable member of the right-wing opposition, having led the New Democratic Party starting NMR 2356.

Although Deng is aging, he is still in good health and has appeared occasionally so the public can get his take on current events. Today, he wanted to talk about Esquarium's supranational organizations and which one among them best deserves Namor as a member. His answer: the Esquarian Union that is led and headquartered in Luziyca.

"The Esquarian Union is the most competent body around nowadays, nothing else can compete with it properly," he said in a video from his Deng Mianbao Channel. "It's in Namor's best interests to join the EU. If that's not possible, it can still benefit from joining the Greenwich Area. I am sure of that."

Deng said that in terms of "efficiency," the Esquarian Union "one-ups" the Esquarian Community (another supranational organization) due to the "opportunities" the former presents.

"My good friend, the President-General, is interested in detente. In that case he should take correct action to executive correct policies. Get Namor to join the EU, and there will be a lot of economic opportunities not only for us, but the economies in the EU. A look at the list of EU members and you know what I'm talking about - the EU is home to some of Esquarium's biggest names in the economy. It's literally a gold mine compared to the other organizations. Namor's future is in the EU, not the EC.

"I know that there are lots of people in this country who want us to become a member of the EC, or an observer state. Why?" said Deng. "That's stupid. Who's ever heard of the EC? Have they done anything except exist as a group of countries?"

Luziyca, Eleis, Kofeiya and Dhomland are the founding members of the EU. Subsequent member include Carolina, Prybourne, Pavonistade, Katranjiev, Orientalia, Syldavia, Kraq, the Ocelot Isles and Vestmark. Scotia and East Cortoguay are observers in the EU. In total, 15 countries are involved with the EU in some way - more than half of these countries are strong allies with Bethlehem. Almost all of the EU's institutions are headquartered in Luziyca, except for the EU's own criminal court which is headquartered in Pavonistade.

Because of the EU's reputation in Namor and many other countries as a Luzzy-run "puppet organization," the school of thought that supports Namorese entry into the EU or its Greenwich Area is neither large nor vocal. In contrast, many more people say Namor can benefit from joining the Esquarian Community.

Ninoslav Novac's celebrations on election night

The Social Democratic & Labour Party will be the largest party in the National Assembly
[i]But will they look to the left or to the right to form a government?

HERZEGOVINA CITY- After a long election campaign, the Social Democratic & Labour Party won the 2000 elections, with the SDLP gaining 41% of the popular vote, and winning 240 seats in the next National Assembly. The Conservative Party came in a distant second, with 34% of the popular vote and winning around 189 seats at the time of press. The Christian Democratic Party won 44 seats, and the Green Republican Alliance has been projected to take 29 seats. Two independent candidates won seats as well.

The election campaign was dominated by the charismatic Ninoslav Novac, who looks to become the next Prime Minister of Banija. He was consistently able to out-maneuver the Conservative Party at every turn, and did well in the 2 debates, shutting down Gordan Filipovic, who looks set to become the next Leader of His Majesty's most Loyal Opposition. He was able to corral voters into believing that the SDLP was the only choice for Banija, while painting the Conservative Party as just 'another version of the Christian Democrats' whom he called a dangerous member of the far-right.

The SDLP was seen widely as the strongest choice for government, the one closest to the views of the middle, and independents flocked towards the SDLP. The Christian Democrats were seen as spoilers in many areas in the race for the Parliament. The Christian Democrats were able to siphon off votes in areas the Conservatives thought they would win, enough to give the SDLP slight victories over the Christian Democrats. There were 22 marginal key districts where this is believed to have happened the most. In these districts, the Conservatives were within 5% of the SDLP, the Conservative and Christian Democratic candidates combined for over 50% of the vote, and the Christian Democratic candidate had at least 10% of the vote. Gordan Filipovic was unable to unify the right however, and many base voters flocked towards the Christian Democrats, to give them the eyepopping success nobody believed that they would have. While Ninoslav Novac was able to unify the left, Filipovic could not do the same on the right which helped the SDLP get a well-deserved victory.

There has been no word on any plans for any of the leaders to resign. The key players here, over the next few days, are the co-leaders of the Green Republican Alliance of the left, namely Josep Artur(Huntleighist Radical Republican) and Virginia Fabiola(Green). Since Ninoslav Novac was not able to form a majority, he will have to look to the left to make some sort of deal to form a government. Many commentators say that if the Greens and the Radical Republicans had ran against each other, their combined numbers would be single digits since they would be competing for those same voters, and the SDLP would have a slight majority. Their alliance has strengthened them, and we will look to see if they agree to either a confidence & supply agreement to form a minority government, or if Ninoslav Novac prefers the advantages of having a majority and can successfully convince them to form a Coalition government which will give them a majority.

Of course, since the Christian Democrats have stuck to their pledge not to form a government with the left, Ninoslav Novac's other option is to form a Grand Coalition with the Conservative Party if a deal cannot be reached with the Green Republicans. We rate the chances of this happening as extremely low, since all parties are very young as Banijan-wide parties, and we believe that the Conservative Party wants the chance to show itself as an option that is very different than the SDLP. The fear from many Conservative Party strategists is that forming a Grand Coalition will make voters see them as one party, and only send more and more voters from the Conservative Party to the Christian Democrats or whatever else the right has to offer. A confidence & supply agreement is possible, but if a minority government is to be maintained, it is more likely to be propped up by the Green Republicans rather than the Conservative Party.

While Ninoslav Novac has a week to announce a deal, the belief is that he will look left to the Green Republicans, and he will work with them to form some sort of agreement to give the nation at least an SDLP dominated coalition government.

Regional elections, so national elections do not interfere with them, will be occurring every 4 years, but in the year following Parliamentary elections. Since the regions have just been set up, special elections will occur on the 15th of July, and will last until the 1st Saturday of July next year.

In other short news:
- The Royal Banija Soccer Association has been formed, and the formal Chairmanship is to be laid in the hands of the titleholder of the Duke of Herzeogovina, as the Royal Family is a large benefactor of the sport. They have entered a national team to compete in the Fourth Edition of the Esquarium Cup, a tournament to determine the best team in the region
- The Kingdom of Banija has joined the Monarchist Federation. All parties in the National Assembly have been said to support the move to join the organization
- The Kingdom of Banija has also seeked to join the Esquarian Community. While the application was not initially accepted, the Foreign Minister, Crown Prince Albert has told reporters that he expects to work out those issues and successfully join the Esquarian Community
- Civil War in Sakatia has begun after a Sakatian-Ionland war, who are in the Northwestern territory of the same continent as Banija. Crown Prince Albert has said that there are "no plans whatsoever" to have Banijan involvement in a foreign civil war. There are believed to be more than a few radical Orthodox sympathizers with the Sakatian Christian Republic who have war experience from the civil war.

Salkov declares himself 'Patriarch of the Christian State'; declares global Christian State

Salkov declares all religions except the "Orthodox Church" to be illegal in the Christian State

Image
Rebels fighting in Prudok

March 11, 2015
Omsk, Sakatia - - Vladimir Salkov proclaimed a 'Christian State' in the areas held by the Sakatian Orthodox Army and declared Sakatia to be a province of the global Christian State. Salkov said that every nation in Esquarium will be under the control of the 'Christian State' "in a matter of time". Salkov declared the capital of the 'Christian State' to be Bethlehem, the current capital of Luziyca and birthplace of Jesus.

Salkov vowed the Sakatian Orthodox Army will defeat the Sakatian government and then move on to Sakatia's neighbors one by one before arriving "at the gates of the holy city".

Acting President Komarov called Salkov a "madman" and said Salkov should check himself into the Tulsk Regional Psychiatric Hospital for "urgent help". Sakatian commentators joked that Salkov should declare himself the "reborn Jesus Christ" or "God himself".

Salkov called people who refused his rule "devils" that will be 'punished'. He openly called for the assassination of Pope Stephan V of the Lutheran Catholic Church, calling him a "devil worshipper". The Sakatian Orthodox Church said Salkov's claim to Patriarchy is "illegitimate" and Makedov II is still the legitimate Patriarch of Sakatia.

Princess Katariina is the eldest daughter of
Prince Nikolas of Kaarenmaa

Royal Council to start looking for a husband for King's granddaughter

NEVANLINNA - Royal Council has announced that it will found a special committee to look for a husband for Princess Katariina Grand Duchess of Kaarenmaa who is also second in line to the Nevan throne. The committee will consist of Her Royal Highness' parents, ambassadors and consuls from various monarchies around Esquarium and bishops from the Church of Kaarenmaa. The Committee will be chaired by Count Kustaa Molander, Her Royal Highness' godfather.

The committee, known as the "Royal Council Committee on the Arrangement of Marriage for Her Royal Highness Princess Katariina", will begin its work on Monday by hearing various options presented by ambassadors. Count Molander affirmed that the candidate must be of noble blood, and said that the Committee will try to find a suitable candidate from the royal families of Ainin, Arkiasis, Britanno, Geadland, Katranjiev, Lyannesia, Odissia and Michillies, Vyvland and Vjaarland as well as from various Luziycan noble families, but did not rule out the possibility of a morganatic marriage to a Nevan noble. Count Molaner did however state that the prince "would not come from Scotia", mostly due to the country's support for the Republican Traitors. Members of the royal families of Namor, Unolia and Tuthina were also ruled out for their "racial unsuitability".

The requirements for possible candidates are high: They include above-average intelligence, height of at least 180cm, no hereditary diseases, age of 16-35 and the title of prince or duke. If accepted, the candidates are expected to convert into Nevanic Christianity, learn the Nevan language and move to Nevanmaa. They are also expected to abandon their former royal titles to ensure that the couple's future children hail from the House of Kaarenmaa-Hennala, not from the house of the future husband.

Her Royal Highness will turn 22 in May, meaning that the Committee will have to find her Royal Highness a husband relatively soon. Nevan princesses are generally married by the time they turn 21, a tradition stemming from the Middle Ages. Pressure is also mounting on Her Royal Highness as she is the second in line to the Nevan throne after her father, the Prince of Kaarenmaa, thus making her responsible for continuing the royal bloodline. Whoever the future prince may be, the Nevan people will no doubt follow the hunt for him with great curiosity.

Prince Maximilian of Belgrev

13 March 2014
Free State declared! Emergency referendum on monarchy to be held on eve of elections on Saturday.

Belgrev, Vozergovnia - The State President's residence has issued a statement in which the populace is informed of the legislature's dissolution hours after a bill was passed which abolished the republic, restored the monarchy in a limited fashion and approved the government's budget for the next six months which included funding for the imminent general elections and referendum on the monarchy status in Vozergovnia which has been declared a Free State.

The premier, Aleksandar Soltar, could hardly contain his happiness while the leader of the royal house, the twenty-seven-year-old Prince Maximilian, expressed his gratitude to his compatriots while calling for peace and tranquillity amidst the confusing state of affairs in the country. The prince went on to say he would assume the rights and duties given to him by the new bill which recognises the House of Belgrev's official status, their titles (with the exception of the title king/queen and crown prince{ss}) with immediate effect but would respect the will of his compatriots whatever that may be. Prince Maximilian also announced his intention to have his house's name changed to House of Vozergovnia if the monarchy were to be restored.

The people's joy was apparent as the streets of Belgrev and other cities and towns throughout the country were flooded by the masses of people of all backgrounds who could not hide their happiness at how close Vozergovnia had come to restoring its much-loved royal house to the throne. Royal and national flags could be observed at the rallies in favour of the House of Belgrev while small republican and chiefly Marxist demonstrations and anti-government protests used an excessive amount of plain, red flags.

It is unknown whether the State President's office would be abolished although experts have said it is very likely. It may also be the end of a short but highly-successful political run for the current premier who rose to power after destroying his party's coalition with Ivana Prelog's Vozergovnian People's Party; until now his political agenda has been based solely on the abolition of all overtly state elements while reforming the State to allow for a restoration of the monarchy. As it is very likely that the monarchists will emerge victorious in the referendum pressure will be placed on him to present an agenda separate from the monarchistic one.

It is also unclear whether noble titles and knighthoods will be granted after the honours system was dismantled following the monarchy's abolition. When asked, the House of Belgrev said it did not yet know all the details on the matter; they claimed it would be up to the government which appears to be very supportive of reinstating the honours system. A Ministry of Justice spokesman went as far as to say, ''If the monarchist cause arises victorious on Saturday night we will do all in all power to restore all elements of the monarchy including the prestige of those it honoured and decorated for their achievements and contributions to the world and society as a whole.

As an influential entity in the political climate of this nation we call for peace and educated debate. Yes, we do support the restoration of the constitutional monarchy which presided over this nation's glory-days over which we are overly nostalgic far too frequently to benefit anyone. Vozergovnians, decide for what is best for your country; you are given the liberty to choose from a variety of options. Voters, run to the poll-stations and exercise your sacred right and duty for the benefit of this nation. Do not limit your thoughts and ample minds to immediate worries; they are undoubtedly important but so is the future both the foreseeable and unforeseeable one. Men and women of our nation, understand that on Saturday you will make a great decision that will affect this country for years to come.
