Reporter Beheaded by GUS
Video Released Online of Sjal's Execution
City of Unolia The Provisional Government of the Jahistic Union confirmed that the rogue terrorists currently occupying the city of Brookopolis, the so-called Greater Unolian Society (GUS), have beheaded a Sjal reporter covering the events in the occupied city.
The reporter was identified by the official Government Press Secretary, Alisha Yttibi, as Ívar Leifþon, who was originally allowed in by both Jahistic and GUS soldiers. He was reported missing in the city on September 17th, three days after a joint operation by Koy Forces Unolia and the Jahistic Liberation Forces effectively cut off the city from the rest of the country. The blockade, according to sources, was the reason why they took Leifþon in the first place, as a bargaining chip.
"Such attacks on international and neutral people like a Sjal correspondent are a violation of common decency," said Chairman Jacob Connors at a press conference, "and will not be taken lightly."
Chairman Connors offered his condolences in a letter to Leifþon's family back in Sjalhaven and has reportedly engaged in a phone call with the Sjal Prime Minister regarding the incident.
"This is par for course when it comes to the GUS," said Commander Jackson Cody, who is the head of Jahistic forces in the blockade on Brookopolis, "we expect no different. This is the fifteenth display of such brutality that we know of from these bandits; the other fourteen were against high-ranking Jahistic Youth Corps members, with a median age of sixteen years."
Jacob Connors, immediately after his phone call with the Sjal PM, called Paramount Leader Ohanka Jon Bak-su of Koyro to discuss further plans regarding Brookopolis and had Unolian generals talk to New Zephuan representatives on his behalf.
Videos of the execution have been put up by alleged GUS moles on several social media sites. Although it was announced that it was up to the social media websites to each determine whether or not to keep the video up, Press Secretary Yttibi urged people not to view them, out of "common decency."
