Soda/Pop/Soft Drinks in Your nation

Postby Xiphon » Mon Oct 22, 2012 8:07 pm

What is the status of soda/pop/soft drinks in your nation?
For example, we usually have Pepsi and Coke products, and similar "smaller-brand" sodas. But it's not unpopular to find a royal blue or red kind soda in Xiphon.

Soft drinks are very popular, with international brands like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, A&W, Mug, Sprite, Barq's, etc. being dominant. Of course, local brands, such as Dinopop, Hal's, F&H, and others are also quite popular. Oh yes, and here, they're predominantly called pop.

We have Neko Cola, the caffeinated carbonated cola beverage of choice for Nekos everywhere. It is our most popular soda drink.

The TBRE's most popular soft drink is Coca Cola or Pepsi (the debate over the two continues to this day), but most people here prefer lemonade, which is one of the elements needed to keep our civility.

We don't have carbonated drinks in our nation, though there is nothing illegal about them. They are thought of as unhealthy.

In Cerlor, Coke and Pepsi are the two major soft drink brands. However, The Cerlor Soft Drink Company has been a cult favorite and popular second choice due in part to their nostalgic and old-fashioned production process. Still, Coke reigns supreme over Pepsi as 59% prefer the former over the ladder

Sugar-water isn't particularly popular in Fatatatutti but it isn't for health reasons. Fatatatutians like to choose whether or not their drinks contain sugar, so they overwhelmingly prefer coffee.

Some of the soft drinks that are available, according to Encyclopedia Fatatatutica, include:
•Coconut Cola
•CC++, a new product of the Coconut-Cola company, containing 4mg of cocaine per 300ml serving
•Pepper Cola, the main rival of Coconut Cola (Incidentally, Pepper Cola contains no pepper, although the Pepper-Cola company is also known for producing pepper spray)
•Seven Upside-Down. a pineapple-flavoured rival of the colas
•Dr. Salt, which contains no salt
•Organized Crime Cola, apparently the only soft drink that is actually cola-flavoured
•Mr. Pubb, which is beer-coloured and has a head on it

Tarveli-style cola tastes like Dr. Pepper, but it is not colored (good for the kidneys), and salt is not added, kills the point in drinking it.

Although sodas and pops like Pepsi, Coca Cola and Mug are sold at stores, predominately the healthy nation of Syleruias prefers Bio Drinks over Sodas. They provide more energy, have less caffeine, are completely natural and are very healthy. One of Syleru's Bio Drinks has twice the energy of a same sized cola and one quarter of it's sugar.

After polling the few humans who live at our Dryland facility, it seems that root beer is the dominant variety of soft drink, with a locally-produced, artisan-quality drink being preferred.

The vast majority of our population being subaquatic, there isn't much demand for soft drinks.

We have some international brands, like Coke and Pepsi. But we also have several national brands.

And to the above post: it's "artisan", not "artesian"- unless you mean that your root beer rises out of underground springs.
