The Orthodox hold to the communal lifestyle of the early followers of Yeshua as depicted in scripture, adhere to the traditions handed down through the ages on matters of faith and practice, and accept the teachings of the Savior and holy scripture as they are (i.e. belief in the Holy Trinity, the Atonement, the Resurrection, etc.). Orthodox Nazarenes also endorse polygyny, monogamy, and celibacy as viable options for the faithful, and regard plural marriage as a legitimate Biblical practice.

•Ebyonim: Making up 19.5% of the total population of Nasraya Yisra’el, the Neo-Ebionites are those believers who descend primarily from formerly-Muslim converts to the faith as it spread globally. While united with the mainstream Body in the early days, Islamic doctrines on the oneness of God led to a rejection of the Trinity in favor of absolute monotheism, and likewise Islamic teachings on the nature of Christ saw the development of an adoptionist belief (which says that Christ was a righteous man adopted as the Son of Alaha at His baptism); another dividing line is the belief that Muhammad was an “apostle to the Ishmaelites,” and Al-Qur’an is regarded as sacred scripture.

•Neo-Essenes: The most radical of the separatist factions, this group comprises the remaining .5% of the global Nazarene population, but they are by far the most reviled. The Neo-Essene community emerged as the product of the mingling between Nazarene beliefs with innovations from New Age theology and Buddhism. Primarily focused on returning to the primal purity of the Garden of Eden, Neo-Essenes practice a eco-centric lifestyle (mandatory veganism, etc.), radical pacifism, and include many ascetic practices derived from Eastern spirituality. Their teachings include the masculine-feminine duality of God, reincarnation, the ability of man to become as beings of light, and the divinity of Mary Magdalene as an aspect of the Goddess. Their leadership consists of two offices held by a husband and wife, with the Consecrated Patriarch believed to be an avatar of Christ/Adam and the Sacrosanct Matriarch believed to be an avatar of Mary Magdalene/Eve. In addition to this, the Neo-Essenes reject polygyny as contrary to the Edenic ideal, and endorse monogamy and celibacy as the only acceptable options.
