Tescopolis - Cohen
FT MEGACORPORTATION ▪ CALL ME TESCO
Tesco, the UK's best-loved supermarket, has gained sovereignty.
They now control an army, police force and are responsible for the governance of every citizen.

In this 'Tescopolis' every aspect of life is controlled by Tesco from cradle to grave. Citizens are referred to as 'Customers' and identified only by their Clubcard number - Names and titles reserved only for senior Tesco employees.

The economy is frightening, but the reality for Tesco's customers is even more so.

Politics no longer exists within Tescopolis, with such a stranglehold on education and the media, people now trust Tesco unconditionally, making them seemingly blind to the tyranny, corruption and brutality of the regime they must endure.

Free Tulsa (The Syndicalist Commune of Free Tulsa) - New Tahlequah

An Introduction to New Tahlequah (excerpt)
A production of the Beketovgrad Printers' Cooperative, for the Free Tulsa Syndicate of Tourism

When Native American and African American refugees first settled Anderson Island in 1917, fleeing the aftermath of the failed Green Corn Rebellion, they found it in an almost pristine condition. Unique among the South Pacific island chains, Anderson and the surrounding islands had no sign of permanent human habitation for at least the past thousand years; whether it was due to the whims of the ocean currents or simply because of luck, Polynesian settlers had never made landfall on this archipelago. The only permanent structures on the island were a day beacon and a small stone dock, both constructed by the British Empire in the mid-19th Century in anticipation of using the island as a coaling station. The settlers found the harbor these structures were built in, with its wide, flat beaches and clear blue waters, a perfect location for a town, and it was here that New Tahlequah, the first settlement in Free Tulsa, was built.

New Tahlequah grew quickly, as refugees from the United States flocked to the islands and immigrants from Cuba, the Phillipines, and China joined them (although in smaller numbers). The earliest settlement emphasized practicality and speed of production over aesthetics; the rigidly-defined gridded street system that resulted from this design philosophy can still be seen to this day. Though much of the nation's industry was centered in New Tahlequah in the first decades of Free Tulsa's history, industrial construction began rapidly shifting to other cities in the late 1940s. By 1960, the city was almost devoid of manufacturing, with the old factory districts replaced with offices, administrative buildings, university campuses, and government facilities. Despite this, the Free Tulsa harbor remained an ideal location for export and import operations, and the city has always remained a primary transportation hub; the waterfront warehouses and the vast New Tahlequah railyard are still in use today, and are expected to remain so.

When Revolution broke out in 2000, New Tahlequah, as both the center of government and the headquarters of most major business enterprises, was heavily defended by reactionary forces. The Siege of New Tahlequah was the last major engagement in the Revolutionary War, and although no significant fighting took place within the city itself, loyalists defending the city carried out a 'scorched earth' policy before surrendering to revolutionary forces. By the time victory was declared, nearly half of the city had been destroyed or severely damaged by its defenders.

Today, there is little sign of the ruins that dominated the New Tahlequah skyline in 2000. Rebuilding the old capitol was the first major undertaking of our mighty Syndicates of Construction, and served as a test of our egalitarian values and revolutionary economic model. It also served as a grand architectural laboratory, allowing architects and designers from all over the Commune opportunities to experiment with new styles or aesthetics. The city is an eclectic mix of peoples, environments, and building styles, from the simple practicality of Old Town to the towering steel-and-glass modernist skyscrapers of the Administrative District. It is truly the jewel of the Commune, an architectural marvel and a shining reminder of the triumph of our revolutionary struggle.

Travel and Accommodations
Domestic travelers usually enter New Tahlequah by train or passenger ferry, arriving at the vast transport routing complex on the waterfront known only as 'The Hub'. From the Hub, passengers or cargo can be routed anywhere in the country - a spider-web of both high-speed and standard rail lines radiates outward, cargo and passenger vessels depart from the docks at all hours of the day and night, and both of the Commune's major highway networks have their ultimate terminus there. The Hub is a marvel of transportation engineering and efficiency, a thousand interlocking parts all working together in an intricate dance. The Syndicate of Transportation prides itself on the quality of service at the Hub and on all its linked transit networks. Foreign travelers usually arrive by air, at the Pyotr Kropotkin International Airport, an annex to the Hub located several miles outside of city limits. Formerly the headquarters of the Free Tulsa Air Force (known then as the Green Corn Military Aviation Complex), Pyotr Kropotkin (or P-K as it is affectionately known to the locals) boasts a high capacity and rapid turnaround, as well as the Museum of Aeronautics and Spaceflight, chronicling the history of flight in Free Tulsa. Upon traveling by light rail from P-K to the Hub, visitors can transfer to the New Tahlequah municipal transit network, which primarily consists of an elevated rail and subway system, supplemented by bus and tram lines.

Visitors are usually accommodated in guest dormitories, of which there are over a hundred in the city. Managed by local housing cooperatives, just like normal Free Tulsa residences, these dormitories feature the same amenities and features as a permanent resident's dormitory. While the specifics will vary widely, all of these dormitories will include electricity, running water, access to the Internet, private bedrooms, and communal kitchens and socialization areas. Recently, there has been a trend among tourists to instead request a room at a permanent-resident dormitory, to better experience the 'Free Tulsa lifestyle' and immerse themselves in our culture. Tourists who wish to stay in a residential dormitory are encouraged to contact a housing cooperative; a directory of cooperatives in New Tahlequah is included in the back of this brochure.

Attractions
Visitors whose interests trend towards the intellectual are encouraged to visit the sprawling campus of the New Tahlequah Communal University, Free Tulsa's most prestigious institution of higher learning. Occupying much of the southern district of the city, the University features a vast library and historical archive, numerous museums of art, science, and history, state-of-the-art research laboratories, and the New Tahlequah Hall of Performance, the best theatrical and musical venue in the city. During the school year, come take a seat in one of the University's great lecture halls, and enjoy the unique experience of a Communal education - the lively spontaneous classroom debates and freeform teaching style have been lauded by many as the future of schooling.

Those interested in governance are encouraged to visit the Halls of Labor, the Office of Defense, and the Reconciliation Building - the meeting-places of the Labor Exchange, Defense Committee, and Revolutionary Tribunal, respectively. Witness the spirited debates and intense emotions of the Labor Exchange, see the sober deliberations of a Defense Committee meeting, or sit in at a legal hearing of the Tribunes. Additionally, more than a dozen Industrial Syndicates are headquartered in Free Tulsa, and tourists are welcome to visit their halls and observe the work that goes on to drive these great engines of the Communal economy.

For more traditionally-minded tourists, the city boasts numerous beaches that are open year-round, several public sports venues, nearly a dozen theaters which put on productions regularly, and last but not least, seven of the famous Communal Plazas that came to symbolize our revolution to many abroad - the great open-air spaces that play host to legendary parties on a near-monthly basis. Many housing cooperatives also routinely put on their own recreational and social events, at which guests are often welcome. Contact the Syndicate of Tourism for regularly-updated schedules of events.
