The tag button doesn't really remind you about 'tagged' threads, unlike posting 'tag' (admittedly annoyingly), where the thread now appears in your 'view your posts', which is easily where I spend most of my time on this site.
It gets filed away somewhere in your UCP which I only use to tweak my sig.
Which as you can see, was last done some time ago.

To be on topic of realism consultation and everything, I was thinking of having everyone in my Army equipped with and required to carry a side arm at all times when on base/deployed, and that every six months they must re-qualify with the sidearm through some type of simple combat shooting test. Outside of the use of ammunition are their any major downsides to this? And what type of test should I use for the re-qualification?

P.S. the main sidearm of my nation is a .40 S&W pistol, along the lines of a GLock.

Weapons Handling Test?

It's what we have to do with the L98, L85, #8 and L86 LSW at cadets.

1) Bomb up a magazine with 10 rounds in 20 seconds
2) Successfully strip and reassemble the system
3) Answer a few questions on the system (e.g. what are the dimensions of the flanelette used to clean the barrel? 45mmx45mm)
4) Successfully prove capability to complete all stoppage drills.

Obviously the exacts of this would be different, but you get the idea.

Well LA is a port and transportation hub, to deny that to your enemy you would have to use a large number of nukes, as roads, railroads and port infrastructure are hard to destroy.

Maryland, Arizona and Nevada are all relatively untouched by nukes by comparison, while Ohio and Florida are pretty highly struck. Michigan's dispersal is similar to NY State, all centred around the famous city (Detroit, in this case) and limited strikes elsewhere.

Well New York and Detroit are both transportation hubs so by destroying them you deny the US The transportation hub. And as I previously said you need a couple nukes to reliably take out roads railroads and ports.

Is there any certain place in the states you could call a military manufacturing hub? Like where they primarily construct/assemble Abrams battle tanks, is the Springfield Armoury still the 'big' US arms manufacturing company, etc?
I imagine any such place would be upon the receiving end of enough nuclear sunshine to give me a mild tan from way across the pond.
