On a related note, I'm currently working on an APFSDS round. What would be a proper dart diameter for a 152mm sabot? I'm thinking somewhere in the realm of 50-75mm, but I'll let the experts decide this one.

If you're going to have part of it be thicker than the rest, have it be the front. But that's really unnecessary. Also, any info on the cartridge? Chamber volume, penetrator mass, etc.

As for the sabot, a double-ramp sabot is best. I suggest one based off of this.

IIRC the maximum L/D ratio for a KEP is about 30:1, which can be extended to 50:1 through various means, I might be able to dig up where I got it from.

Maximum practical L/D for a monoblock penetrator is ~40:1.

His penetrator is MASSIVE! KEPs are generally 20-30mm in diameter, and 50-60cm in length, his is about double that. Even if he had a pitiful muzzle velocity his muzzle energy would probably be tremendous.

Just to give you a little taste of how big it is this is the KEP fired by the MCA-7E (I know it is overused as an example, but I am just illustrating how absurd his KEP (the dude with the white and blue flag) is)
- Diameter: 140mm/38mm (Bore/Penetrator)
- Penetrator Cap: 30x150mm DU
- Penetrator Rod: 20x800mm DU

So the MCA-7E, which is no slacker in the KEP department fires KEPs that are outright puny compared to this dude's. I probably would have used Roankep but I doubt I can find it in a 5 second google search. Just tried, and no I cannot.

After all, the difference in KEP size just going from 120 to 140mm is great, let alone 140 to 152mm.

His entire cartridge is longer than my tank crewmen are tall, hell I think his cartridge significantly bigger than a LOSAT, which I cannot find the stats to right now. Doing a quick estimate I am thinking that his muzzle energy might be over 40 MJ even if his velocity is only 1500 m/s. Of course I did that by making a quick KEP volume estimate compared to the MCA-7E since it is an easy to find page a Sumer is trustable enough as a source to assume his penetrator mass is accurate.

Even if his penetrator size is okay, the whole idea is redundant since the penetration will be enough to punch through the frontal armour of any tank easily.

Honestly, no idea. I need to get some more detailed stats on it first.
Basically, all I have right now are dimensions. No volume, no weights, none of that. That's coming up soon.

That model is the tandem. I'm going to design the case and everything FOR the tertiary, but I need to see about different charge alignments before I'll start replacing tandem-warhead HEAT.
