History
Antiquity
Antique Government:The ancestral origins of the Alekseevskayans date back to an ancient Thracian tribe named the Siracii [Seer-Uh-Kai], an advanced tribe who settled in two large cities; Ethyria and Ensidia that sat on the Ionian Sea. The Siracii eventually grew to massive heights, controlling over twenty cities on the Ionian coast. The Siracii were led by an Autokrator (M.) or Autokratira (F.) which were the equivalents to Emperors. Rulers were elected from a pool of dynastic heirs, the most intelligent and politically capable were selected to rule. Individuals selected for rulership could choose to resign immediately, this was common as many heirs served in the military instead of office. The Autokratii were supported by a lower house of politicians called the Consulii who acted similarly to the Roman senate, passing bills and voting. The Autokratii however reserved the absolute and undeniable right to overturn any vote or ruling that the Consulii passed, exercising their supreme power. Aristocracy was common as well; aristocratic houses were allowed to own their own towns, cities, and small armies which were often used to support the main military, these aristocrats were called the Hegemonii. Despite the sophisticated governing and technology, the Siracii still considered themselves Barbarians as did the other 'Advanced' states of the time.
Culture and Religion: The Siracii tribe had rich and deep cultural, religious and social conventions. The Siracii people were allowed complete rights and freedom in their cities and exercised them well. Women were allowed to show themselves in public topless or naked, as Siracii society had high emphasis on the rights of women and sexuality. Siracii civilians were granted rights to vote for Consulii members and run themselves. And like Rome, gladiatorial fights were very common, though the fighters themselves were most often free men wanting to achieve great glory by victory in the arena. The Siracii were a very religious people, practicing a polytheistic religious structure. All of the gods had an animal form which furthered the sense of druidism in Siracii religion. The central god of the Siracii people was Thalassa, a female being of inexplicable beauty and power who commanded the seas and the stars, her animal form was a she-wolf. The role of Thalassa in the Siracii military was obvious as shown by their strong and large navy. Other gods included Stragos, the God of War and fury whom by legend was husband of Thalassa and also took the form of wolf; Thraka, the god of wisdom and power who took the form of a Phoenix and was married to Thraia, god of beauty and sexuality who had the alternative form of a Phoenix as well. The Siracii had a long and complex system of gods who formed the pieces of their culture and spirit.
Military: The Siracii possessed a powerful military consisting of over (est.) 90,000 tribal warriors. The warriors ranged in class but were most commonly the Strixii, fast, intelligent and fierce warriors named after the god Stragos, armed with a sica and protected by an iron thraxon, manica and ocrai (Helmet, shoulder guard and leg plating). The Strixii were followed by the Kratokii, heavily armored and powerful fighters equivalent to Roman Legionaries and usually armed with a gladius and protected by an iron kronos, manica and ocrai. The last main type were the Holonkai who were armed with a Kaerai War Spear.
Modern Times
The true Alekseevskayans at the time were citizens of the Alexeyevsky district in Moscow which was host to a large Socialist faction and were fiercely loyal to the ideas of Vladimir Lenin and the man himself. By 1922 the revolution was long over and the Communists have taken over what is left of the Russian Empire and declaring the Soviet Union into existence. What set the stage for the Alekseevskayan's rise to power was an event that occurred in 1922. Namely, this event was Josef Stalin's position in the Soviet government. The people of the Alexeyevsky district were angered both by his position in the government and the Soviet ignorance of Lenin's Testament which could have led to the removal of the former. In response, they started a new revolution in the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug against Stalin. These new idealists were lead by Zvonimir Borisov (Who's descendants leads the nation today). The revolutionaries battled the exhausted soldiers of the Red Army for their freedom and after the struggle dragged on for months until the leaders of both parties began negotiating. The exact outcome of the negotiations are unknown but it lead to an exodus of Alexeyexsky revolutionaries who arrived in their new homeland by sometime in January 1923. The newly arrived people were separated upon landing at their new lands and started small yet prosperous settlements. By September 27 of 1923 Zvonimir Borisov united the scattered people and declared the Socialist Republic of Alekseevskaya based upon Vladimir Lenin's ideals. For the next 87 years, the new Alekseevskayan state was growing, developing and preparing for its re-immersion into the world.
