Overview

Big, heavy, powerful, and intimidating, the KV-21 Aoyuan is every bit as deadly as it looks. Its twin gun configuration is an incredible feat of modern engineering. Simply put, this self-propelled howitzer has double the firepower of your average systems. Its target acquisition systems may not be as accurate as others, but it makes up for this with its sheer volume of fire.

The KV-21 Aoyuan is the Territorial Army’s artillery piece of choice, considered to be crude, but highly effective. The Imperial Territorial Army opted for the traditional cannon over the missiles and rockets traditionally preferred by the old Imperial Armies due to the greater fire rate, and increased accuracy of artillery over rockets. The KV-20 self-propelled artillery piece is also upgradeable to fire chemical rounds and also mount an extra barrel compared to the most nations’ artillery in the world.

Based from South African G6 Rhino 155mm self-propelled Howitzer, secondary armament consists of 12.7-mm machine gun, mounted on top of the roof. There are also a number of smoke grenade dischargers. The KV-21 Aoyuan has a strong welded hull and turret. Its front arc provides protection against 20-mm rounds. All-round protection is against small arms fire and artillery shell splinters. This vehicle is well protected against landmines. This artillery system is fitted with an automatic fire suppression system as well as NBC protection system. Some firing ports are provided for the crew. Vehicle has a crew of four, including commander, gunner, one loaders and driver.

The KV designation was originally used during the Second Iclamian War, known as the Great Patriotic War in all of the Minrozian World Empire. The KV stood for Kamal Vunyang who designed the heavily armed and armored KV-1 tank and KV-2 mobile artillery vehicle. The KV-21 is most likely to be reminiscent of the KV-2 heavy Artillery Tank, which was armed with a 152mm Howitzer.
The vehicle is named after the Famous Marshal and War Hero Jin Aoyuan, the most decorated officer in Minrozian Military History, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Minrozian Military, and Commander of the Imperial Army forces at just about every major battle on the Southern Front in Second Iclamian War. Marshal Aoyuan was and still is very well known for his use of overwhelming artillery bombardments.

It is powered by a monstrous 800 horsepower diesel engine, which enables it to carry the weight of both its dual cannons and plenty of ammunition. The M.I.T.F. is also known to load the KV-20 with chemical shells on occasion.
