  Everything is managed by artificial intelligences, from the economy to the picking of leaders to the control of ships and fleets of tiny ships. Every taste, every sight, every sound, every single thing is scanned and sent by tachyon communications to great intelligences. Nothing is unseen, nothing is unheard by the intelligences that have been wrought by the usage of information sciences in practical application.
• Energy Physics
  How would it be possible to even power the PUC drive without mastery of energy? To operate continuous electromagnetic shields? To always, every single moment of the day, transmit by tachyon beams, from billions of people a day? These would all take ridiculous amounts of energy if not for our mastery over it; the casual usage of weapons that have the ability to destroy worlds? Impossible, normally, but the efficiency of how we use energy is unmatched.
• Reality Alteration
  All ship technology is based on PUC and SPEC, PUC creating decaying pocket universes with fixed linovection and SPEC being the quintessential FTL based on reality distortion. PUC is used to transport people and cargo from a planetary surface. This leads inevitably to energy physics.
• Nucleonics
  Efficient antimatter convertors depend on this. And stray antimatter is hard to find, so the convertors are needed on every ship. Ships don't take the risk of keeping antimatter in storage; this also leads us to energy physics. That this is also used for less exotic purposes, like scanning and synthesizing food.
• Biotechnology
  Immortality.
• Materials Engineering
  It's a bit hard to generate pocket universes without destroying the generator if it's made of normal materials. The only major improvement in this area has been a material that absorbs most energy back into the energy storage, which again brings us to energy physics. Carbon-born fibres also tend to help in personal protection.
• Least important: Gravitonics
  Least important because it's so weak. Electromagnetics work much better, being the thing that holds things together. Ironically, gravity is thought of as strong because it can be defied, while electromagnetics, as it effects us, cannot be easily defied in any way. Even artificial gravity and antigravity is achieved with electromagnetics, which brings us back once more to energy physics.
