If it's from wikipedia, even better – just link me to that. I will go ahead and admit that the text on your flag is a bit too much to go into a banner like the one you've linked, at least one that is aesthetically pleasing. It could probably be done, but every word but your nation's name would probably be a bit small to make the room.

My sincere apologies.

The reason I tend to go for an SVG file is that vector files can be easily scaled up or down without a noticeable loss in quality. When you scale up or down a raster image (ie. what you tend to see), especially one with low resolution, the quality is lost with it. This can quite easily limit your possibilities. But if you don't intend to do much heavy-weight customization, it's understandable. A plain white background can be a problem as well. If you intend to make images using that coat of arms, the lack of transparency will make blending it in without some eraser-fu will be difficult; and even then it may be noticeable. But once again, it doesn't matter much if you do not intend to put much effort towards custom images and et al. I will admit that I am not a fan of doing this since it doesn't feel up to par para mi, but completing an order properly should override any personal beliefs. Can't believe I forgot one of the most important rules in design.

I'm trying to make a coat of arms based on this version of the Francoist Coat of Arms on Inkscape, but I'm stuck making the escutcheon, since I intend to use Castilian elements and because I struggle with Inkscape plus it gets extremely laggy most of the time.

I managed to get the following elements for the escutcheon:

-This mix of the Spanish version of the Imperial Crown and a Grandee/Infante crown

-This castle

-This Cross of Burgundy

-This Bend of Castile

-Spanish Phalanx symbol

-Franco's bird for to be edited (missing the shield)

-The shield on its own which is still vanilla

First, I would like to replace the motto with "Fortuna Audaces Iuvat" (the sign can be elongated at will) and I want to remove the bit that represents Granada and just have it quarterly, with two being the Cross and the Bend placed like the bit that represents Castile and Leon, placed on the positions it is in the original, and I guess the same with the castle and the Phalanx symbol, where the bits representing Aragon and Navarre go. I would also like to have the Phalanx symbol coloured like the yoke and the arrows presented here. Feel free to make the design more aesthetic if what I described doesn't look good enough.

A couple of things I want to check before I go any further. I've managed to get the Francoist CoA into Illustrator, so I'm working from there. Kicker is that it's terribly slow. I want to make sure I get this right on the first (final) draft, so I did a hasty sketch of what it'll end up looking like. Emphasis on "hasty". Tell me what you think.

I'm sorry, but unless you really do want the artist to surprise you, you're going to need to be more specific.

A coat of arms is, by its very nature, going to be pretty posh. But unfortunately, I cannot read your mind. Being as specific as possible is a win-win for the artist and for the client. The client gets what he wants, and the artist knows what the client wants. You may know what you want, but I don't know what you want until you tell me what you really really want. So tell me what you really really want.

Do you mind if your crown is made more fancy, or do you want it to remain in the style that it's in? Do you want your nation's motto to be included in the CoA? If so, on the top or bottom? Do you have a preference for the shield's shape? How do you want it divided? Does your nation have any specific symbols you want to have in the CoA? Would you like supporters (ie. animals holding it the escutcheon up) with that? For here or to go?
