Lulzy image, but religious doesn't always mean unscientific. And yeah, there are probably people who won't like that image.

We are mostly a radical version of the hippies (not meaning we'll never go to war, but in every other field we're radical, eg: politicians wear dirty jeans and tie-dye shirts to parliament, almost all have long hair). Since our mass migration in the mid 70s, Scandinavian culture has seeped in a bit, but not much.

His motto basically says "religious people are dumb". There's a difference between stating that your nation kills homosexuals and basing the entire nation on the principles of homophobia, putting "GOD HATES FAGS" as your motto and pushing your beliefs wherever you can.

Old Tyrannia has a Roman-inspired culture, mostly based on Ancient Rome, although some aspects are inspired by the later Byzantine or Eastern Roman Empire, such as the state religion which is Tyrannian Orthodoxy. However, the Empire also possesses a distinctly Imperial Japanese mentality, in that honour is all-important and death is preferrable to surrender. Although this mentality is descended from European medieval chivalry as opposed to bushido, in practice it is virtually the same to Imperial Japan's philosophy.

Our culture has never existed ever. We have no real life match.
Trying to match us with a real culture would be like trying to match Tsvarchivan culture to a real one. Simply impossible.

Culturally we are Russian. However, since the end of World War II we have been heavily influenced by American popular culture. So you might think of us as Americanized Russians. Also, we are still loyal subjects of the Romanovs, so we are more like imperial Russians rather than Communist Russians.
