Of course not. We are, however, willing to sell slaves, and we would not refuse to sell to someone who indicated that they would be foolish enough to free them.

Why would that be "foolish?" Simple. Our slaves are genetically programmed to submit to the strong and dominate the weak, much like we ourselves do. They're also engineered to be extremely strong in comparison to baseline humans. Oh, and we don't like goody-goods or holier-than-thous, so we engineered our slaves to be proper connivers like us. This means that any nation who buys our slaves and frees them into their nation has pretty much paid for a Decepticon invasion in superhuman form.

Hey2121 wrote:My nation supports slavery. Slaves increase our production rates at literally no expenses. We abuse them and devour their corpses when they die. They are treated as objects and citizens can do whatever they want to them.

We suggest you fire your accountant and the head of your slave program immediately. Slaves are cheap, but they certainly do not come with "no" expenses. First, there is some kind of acquisition cost. Either people have to buy them or they have to take the time to hunt them down. Trapping expeditions require equipment that can get expensive, and if you don't have an insurmountable physical advantage over the quarry, the quarry may be able to kill its pursuers. This adds risk of life to the equation.

Once you have some slaves, you must feed them and provide some sort of shelter from extreme environments or they will die before they can do any meaningful amount of work. Also, abusing them too much lowers productivity because they will have too much damage to work efficiently; this destroys the value of your investment. Finally, causing them to crash too soon taxes the slave acquisition system. Humans take 12-15 years before they are strong and durable enough to do heavy labor, so you really wouldn't want them to die off prematurely for no good reason. Most other sapient species have a long development time as well, so if you avoid using humans, you'll still have these same basic issues to deal with.

Our own nation has no regulations on the treatment of slaves, and it's legal to buy one just to dismantle it alive or somesuch thing. We, however, have the logic circuits to know that it's more sensible to keep them working at peak efficiency.

Slavery is outlawed in Zeatly, but the main purpose of out military is to promote civil rights throughout the world with causing war. Usually we buy off slaves to free them, but sometimes we must use force if the country is a repeating offender.

No. Giving liras to purchase slaves encourages slavers to spend their liras we paid them to buy more slaves, so it only benefits the slavers and NOT the slaves.

No, the government of Dagnia does not. Slavery is illegal in Dagnia, and our government confiscates slaves to free them. Human trafficking carries severe penalties, including the death sentence. If a Dagnian has been kidnapped and sold in another country, we send agents to free this person and bring the kidnappers and owners to justice.

Slavery is illegal, so we don't buy them not even to free them, that way we would be supporting slavers and those who profit from this horrible thing

The Empire is adherently against slavery however we do not promote slaving operations by funding slave states through purchasing and then freeing people. Rather it's up to individual nobles and aristocrats what they do with their money; the Crown has no designs on such a thing; we're more into seizing and free.

It is legal for Yamataians to purchase slaves, but slavery is illegal. Therefore, if one purchases a slave, that slave must be freed immediately.

Our government doesn't have a program to free the slaves of other nations, though.

We'd attack the slaver nation for profit. Then give control of the nation to the slaves as humiliation.

We tried that, but we were banned from most global slave markets because of it.

Even so, in accordance with TurtleShroomer law, any slave that enters the country is immediately a free creature, and will be seized from the master by force. The slaves can then apply for citizenship after a one month period. (Note: the masters are not usually prosecuted unless they try to get their slaves back.)

Buying slaves to free them may be well-intentioned, but it nevertheless means complicity, so we don't do so. It's more sensible to arrest slavers.

Despite our anti-slavery views, purchasing and releasing slaves in not practiced and is hostilely viewed upon in Celynius. The idea of wasting Celynian funds to purchase the freedom of slaves is horrifying and mostly inefficient.

I should add that our laws against slaving make no allowance for the alleged purpose of acquiring the slaves. Private individuals or organizations that buy slaves for the alleged purpose of freeing them are guilty of slaving, and can be executed accordingly. There are several reasons for this policy, but the most important one is to ensure that slavers caught in the act cannot claim, "We were going to free them," as a defense against the lawful consequences of their crimes.

Also worth noting is that slavers are considered utlagan, as enemies of all mankind, and so doing them harm or killing them carries no lawful consequences, and doing so is in fact the duty of all Eahliscmenn. We also have no restrictions on private ownership of weapons short of weapons of mass destruction, and most of our adults have military training. We also allow - in some cases, practically require - the creation of private warbands.

In other words, if a private organization in Eahland really wants to free slaves, purchasing them is forbidden, but there's absolutely nothing preventing them from raising, equipping, and employing a private army to do it by main force, and if they kill out of hand every slaver they come across in the process, that would be considered a bonus.

That seems self-defeating...Buying slaves promotes slavery so whether you free them or not is irrelevant as you've already benefited the slave trade.

No, by the way.

No, Soylent Megacorp© does not buy slaves to free them.
Rather, in the interest of the smooth functioning of our factories, Soylent Megacorp© buys sickly, weak, or otherwise undesirable slaves (who are usually sold at below average prices).
These slaves help Soylent Megacorp© produce ever increasing quantities of the people's favorite product, Soylent Green©!
