Probably the most common (incorrect) stereotype about our nation's people comes from a comparison (also incorrect) with Terran eusocial insects, most often ants. People who believe that an ant queen controls and directs her colony tend to assume that a thoughtform constructor does the same. In reality, neither ants nor thoughtforms behave in such a way. Queens and constructors alike are merely specialized reproductive vessels, and exert no conscious influence over any of their fellows.

Why humans insist on clinging to this idea, we are not certain. It could be a linguistic accident; "queen" carries a strong connotation of leadership, after all. However, we suspect it is more likely because they find it difficult to fathom a society in which no one is the leader.

Other stereotypes include the ideas that thoughtforms are a hive mind, lack individuality, or are incapable of conscious thought. These, at least, have some foundation in reality. Thoughtforms communicate telepathically over long distances, and act as dictated by the protocol that we all share. Still, we do have individual personalities and self-identities, even if they are not quite so strong as those of other races. Believing that following protocol leaves no room for individuality is like believing that two law-abiding citizens of other nations cannot differ in behavior whatsoever.

Arrogant:
Perhaps what comes to mind the most when you mention Mackonians, anyone who has not met a Mackonian tends to think them uneducated savages, anyone who has finds them the most snobbish people on the earth. Macks have little or no concept of human social norms, they will happily go on for hours about their achievements (usually not particularly impressive, things like "today a brought a photocopier") and will all too happily insult everything you hold dear in your life while claiming the moral high ground all the while. Macks are usually portrayed as convinced they are the nonexistent god's gift to the universe and will rarely keep quite about this. A Mack always knows best and will never be proved wrong...at least not while sober.

Sadistic:
Due to their predatory nature Macks are seen as having a wider cruel streak then most, at times this is exaggerated to make them seem like a race of raving savages torturing babies to death for the laughs and kicking dogs left,right and centre. However it is not, as some commentators have insisted, nonexistent, Macks don't a particularly strong sense of empathy for each other or other races in comparison to humans and it is simply natural for them to be cold or outright callous in moral decisions.

Paranoid:
Again, an inheritance from a Predatory evolution, Macks are seen as some of the most paranoid people on the planet; the average Mack's home is a fortress unto itself with enough traps to halt the advance of the U.S Marines. This is also partly due to the "unique" nature of crime and punishment in Mackonia that makes paranoia a necessity for survival.

Sophisticated/Pretentious:
Varies, Macks are genuinely a rather well educated people due to the highly regarded and universal education system. Due to the traumatic national experience of colonisation and foreign rule Macks have something of an obsession with appearing "cultured", this may not be a problem until you realise Macks' idea of culture is stuck in the 19th century. They will usually perform this to either extreme, on the one hand shining examples of Wicked Cultured done well and on the other hilarious farces desperately trying to appear 'civilised' and failing terribly at it.

Schismatic:
Some have theorised that because Mackonian culture is one of comparative coldness and emotional restraint, Mackonians are in fact, on the inside, far more emotional then most because of their efforts to suppress them: By creating a culture of little or no emotional education Macks have little experience in controlling their emotions and thus display almost bipolar personalities; radically shifting from elation to despair, from extroversion to misanthropy.

Neophobia -- our people are neophobic, that is to say they despise new things. This includes evolution and (consequently) social Darwinism. Instead, we subscribe to the belief that the creator has made each person individually, and hence invested with the same human dignity and standing.
Fatalism -- our people believe that all individuals have a pre-determined destiny in life.
Strange sense of beauty -- as engendered by our neophobia, we have not subscribed to any of the prevailing sense of beauty. We prefer the skin of both sexes to be a deathly white and hair and eyes an impenetrable black (not brown). Breast or penis size is irrelevant to beauty. Having toned muscles is seen as a disease.
Artifice -- honesty and straightforwardness is not appreciated. Keep your conduct as deliberate and artificial as possible.
Scholarship -- most people spent more than 20 years in school.
Unimperialist -- our people intensely dislike the idea of 'a united Themiclesia'. Themiclesia is supposed to be divided into independent, as tradition holds.
Height -- our people are historically quite tall -- over 6' 2" in many eras.
Sarkotphbia -- our people compare meat to yule cake. They're only eaten on certain days of the year, not out of modesty, but is just not part of the regular diet.
Soft -- our people think that tumbling at the slightest bump is a good thing.
Enviromentalism -- our people think that humans were created, "To have nature and alter it at and to his pleasure," for he is "created to be lord thereof". This is also a reason why scientific racism never took hold in Themiclesia, because we didn't believe that individuals compete to survive.
Despite being quite scientifically advanced, we don't socially accent certain principles -- we don't believe that there's a correlation between a parent's skin tone and that of the child. We think it is chosen by the creator at his pleasure. This is also why racism never took hold here.

POSITIVE:

The Arkadat race are known as the life of the party, at least when they're invited. Expect them to be the first to start livening up the place, whether by showing off with impressive feats of strength, showing how much they can stuff in their limb perforations, or by doing something so amazingly reckless it'll make them the talk of the town for the next few weeks.

The Culdranth race are generally assumed by outsiders to be very funny, intelligent, and curious.

Reils are typically stereotyped as thrill-seekers, always ready to take a risk for the sake of proving they can.

NEGATIVE:

Arkadat are generally assumed to be juggernauts of destruction due to their size and appearance. They're widely feared outside of Tinell and as such most of them stay in the country.

Culdranth are stereotyped as disloyal and cowardly, ready to flee or backstab at the first sign of trouble.

Reils are often portrayed as bloodthirsty savages, like modern day barbarians. This was true for the last few centuries, though after the Tinellian conquest of Reiltam they've calmed down significantly and are starting to experience a turn around.

POSITIVE

Generous - The average citizen of the Omnidemocracy has grown up in a society where poverty is something that happens in other places. Because of this, they have never be desensitized to it and generally react to scenes of poverty with abject horror and considerably pity. This generally compels them to help in any way they can. A key political faction, the Prometheans, were founded on the concept that it is a moral imperative to use Omnidemocratic technology to achieve a respectable standard of living through the entire Universe. Similar but less extreme sentiments are shared across society.
Alternately, if it becomes clear the poverty was intended by someone or some group the horror and pity is likely to be replaced by anger and outrage. In this case, they are generous with their munitions rather than their resources.

Egalitarian - A sort of mixture between respect for diversity and utter apathy towards anything viewed as an unimportant trait causes Omnidemocratic citizens to appear generally egalitarian in anything they do. Because they view individuals as the products of their mind and their actions and see the body as little more than a vessel, most forms of bigotry seem absolutely bizarre.

Kinky/Sexually Liberated - Resulting from the same causes of the above egalitarianism, the average Omnidemocratic citizen has very wide and broad sexual tastes. Bisexuality is almost universal, xenophilia is considered a normal state of being and monoamory is seen as a quaint but somewhat charming practice done by other societies.

Respectful - An outgrowth of their formerly mentioned egalitarianism, the average Omnidemocratic citizen tries to treat all they encounter with equal starting levels of respect. Certainly after getting to know someone they might regard them more or less fondly, but at the start they attempt to judge them solely based on merit. This does not appear to always actually happen, but it does appear to happen far more in the Omnidemocracy than in competing societies.

Rational - A firm and near-obssessive belief in the supremacy of the rational over the irrational is a major part of Omnidemocratic society. This manifests in several ways, the most notable of which being that almost everything is questioned on both scientific and moral grounds.

NEGATIVE

Meddling - The Omnidemocracy does not have any respect for national sovereignty, which means they have a habit of acting on issues in foreign countries without informing the governments of said countries. They also tend to interfere with societies they view as inherently oppressive and work to eliminate those cultural and social traits they see as supporting the oppression. This is often derided as "disrespect for local customs and culture" by the leadership of those societies the Omnidemocracy interferes in.

Arrogant - Related to the above, the Omnidemocratic insistance to various civilizations that their societies are inherently flawed has caused many to view the Omnidemocracy as very arrogant.

Perverted/Shallow - As a result of their generally hedonistic view of carnal matters, the average Omnidemocratic is likely to value the unique experience of bizarre sex in and of itself. Certainly the mutual pleasure of all participants is important, but novelty is also a major value. The tendency to shamelessly make sexual comments and generally treat sex as an everyday and highly enjoyable experience color many foreign perceptions of the Omnidemocracy. For their part, the average Omnidemocrat fails to see exactly what is wrong.

The shallow part also applies emotionally as well as sexually. In addition to a heavy impact on the physical when it comes to sexuality, the average Omnidemocrat is also likely to appear overly happy and positive. Though some like this attitude, others have suspicions that it is an artificial happiness that suffocates the expression of other emotions by Omnidemocrats.

Bipolar/Hypocritical - Some foreigners believe the Omnidemocracy to be bipolar or hypocritical. A commonly cited example for this supposed hypocrisy is that the Omnidemocracy demands tolerance of diversity from others yet does not tolerate the existence of societies heavily divergent from the Omnidemocratic ideal. Another example is the fact that the Omnidemocracy will generally be extremely peaceful and benevolent at First Contact, but will quickly become vicious and interfering if their initial requests (and demands) are ignored by the newly contacted civilization. They are also extremely willing to negotiate during peace, but accept nothing but complete and unconditional surrender (and often the execution of the enemy ruling class) during war.

Similar discrepancies exist on the personal level. One Omnidemocratic citizen was at one point being harrassed and mugged by a group of armed individuals in a foreign habitat. Though the Omnidemocrat repeatedly and pleadingly begged that nothing violent happen and they be allowed to go on their way, once the muggers attempted to assault them the Omnidemocrat killed every single one of them (including those who ran away and those who surrendered) and left without a word.

Geophobic - The average Omnidemocratic citizen has never seen, let alone stood on, a planet and would not want to. Legacies of the death of their home world by global warming and mass famine, as well as fears of a relativistic kill vehicle impacting the immobile planet, has caused Omnidemocratic society to generally view all planet-bound civilizations as inherently immature, rooted to one spot due to fear of the unknown. This is a perception rather than a fact, yet it is often treated as though it is always true by some Omnidemocrats. The same reasons for their aversion to planets also make the average Omnidemocratis suspicious of any food that has not been genetically altered for maximum nutrition as well as suspicious of all non-nuclear energy sources. This stereotype in particular is almost universally true for Omnidemocrats, who often remark that they feel like they are about to die in a relativistic strike whenever they step foot onto a planet. The fact that the planet likely has a defense grid does not prevent this fear.

Olérand is known for its rich, some might say ostentatious, culture. Its traditions, cuisine, and scenery.
However, this has resulted in many stereotypes, some good, and others not so.

Les Olérands are known as a cultured, well educated, and fashionable people. However, they are also known as haughty, pretentious, and condescending.
