well in Rl its a quick and cheap option since most of its former european users have been giving them away.
On NS i would suspect going down the oplot road or even buying some of the vastly more poliferated (and thus likely cheaper) M1 Abrams.

If you're referring to how the Second War was almost directly the result of the Treaty of Versailles, I agree, but the Germans still started the War.

Germany invaded poland. At this point this was still a local European war. Or if you want to be technical and include the Soviet Union an Euroasian war. England and France declared war on Germany which made it a world war. Thus Germany did not start the Second World War.
Plus, if the allies were so high and mighty why didn't they declare war on everyone who invaded poland and not just Germany?
And no, I am not defending Germany here. My opinion is that the whole clusterfuck that was WW2 in Europe could and should have been avoided.

Well, Germany ignored an ultimatum from England and France.

And ultimatums are NOT stupid things that lead to war? See what I am saying? They should have just done what the EU is doing now with the ukraine and thrown poland under the bus for the greater good of Europe.

And let the Nazis invade Western Europe in the following year?

I am trying to give a solution that gives the allies a plausible level of common sense and intelligence. What you propose would actually require them to have a brain and think at the same time. Let's be realistic.

They did. They were just bitter.
The Americans were quite heavily against the Treaty of Versailles, for broadly this reason. French and British individuals in government or military predicted with decent accuracy that Germany would fight another war within two decades.
