Kind of, but not really. The Trade Federation had their assets seized by the Emperor and used to repair the Galaxy after the end of the Clone Wars. It was owned by the Neimoidians, but the New Order doesn't approve of such scaly looking aliens running things, I'm guessing they were out on their ass.

The fact that they tried to get the VAs for the Neimoidians to speak in a Thai accent, thus resulting in a stereotypical East Asian (Cantonese/Hong Konger) accent was highly amusing. I could not even get offended at all I just flat out laughed. Like, is that seriously their best attempts at an accent? And those funky hats and robes honestly make them look like Qing dynasty eunuchs, not nobility, eunuchs.

So long as you are not going into depression or an existential crisis, thinking of such things is somewhat healthy, so long as one accepts some of your own musings as what it is--musings. Then, one can carry on with life.

Why not just hire Thai VAs? Its not like George Lucas doesn't have the cash.

Because that would have sparked negative reactions, and besides, Thai-English VAs would have legitimately good English--or at least considerably better than a regular Thai English speaker... YMMV for that. But I think it was Lucas' ethical choices that prevented him.

Not to mention while he does have the money, thriftiness in the movie industry is a virtue?
