I really don't care for the plausibility of mecha unless I'm aiming for very hard sci-fi, myself.

That alone doesn't really cut it for some people, however.

Probably best to discuss it elsewhere, anyway.

Other then the points made by this, is there any other problems you have with Mecha? I understand the logic why they don't work, but that doesn't stop the fact that they look friggin cool.

Because some people just don't like suspension of disbelief and prefer more plausible things, I guess.

I have most of the backstory, the morphers, etc. It would be similar to Time Force in that the Zords and Powers come from the Pokemon World, and channel into the Power Ranger world, like Zords and Powers came from the Future and channeled into the Past in Time Force. Basically, Jesse, James and Meowth were sent into this universe by Arceus as they were 'blasting off again'. Once here, they began to make plans to take over this world, as they felt that they could do it easier here than in the Pokemon World. I'm thinking that perhaps Professor Oak came over here at one point, sporting five Pokedecks, and discovered Team Rocket here. Unable to physically return to the Pokemon World, he began to work on a way to channel the powers of Pokemon into humans, so they could fight against Team Rocket's own Human-Pokemon Hybrid creations.

I have an Alt-History World War 2 scenario that isn't in any way grounded in realism (well, as much as Micro-wave Death Rays can be realistic) that I'll be putting up soon.

It'll be fun. Japanese Hydra (that's really the easiest way to describe them) vs Angry Islanders and the Allies in 1949...

RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST
Please provide as much detail as possible.
RP's Overarching Concept: Basically, the whole Operation Highjump Conspiracy theory just with Japan and tropical islands in place of the South Pole and Nazis.
Genre/s: Alt History, World War 2, Spy Thriller, the Cold War
Character or Faction Based: I need some help with this.
Detailed Description:
Kazanjima: Secrets of the Rising Sun
Kazanjima

Kazanjima is an island chain located in the Mid-Pacific, 431 miles off the coast of Taiwan. Long thought to be abandoned, the Imperial Japanese Military built an underground research and development base on the island in 1938, then proceeding to remove traces of the base in Imperial Records in a massive cover-up operation. In 1949, word of the base leaked to the Western Allies, who promptly prepared a formidable force to take the Island.

Unit 631
In 1940, the Japanese began to stockpile large amounts of supplies on the island, be it food or ammunition, and then proceeded to make the island self-sustainable in a way. When the war with the United States broke out in 1941, Unit 631 began the early work on a weapon, that could in theory, help Japan win the war. Ku-Go, was a program to build a death ray, capable of destroying vehicles and people. Ku-Go, however was flawed. The system faced multiple technical problems, primarily power source issues, arising from the sheer size of the massive coil tower needed to effectively use it. In 1944, Unit 631, still working on Ku-Go, was asked to help develop and build advanced aircraft, such as the Nakajima Ki-201 Karyu, the Yokosuka R2Y2, and the Nakajima G10N. At this point, Unit 631, was the best equipped unit in the Imperial Military to face the Allies, but the opportunity never arose, and its forces were relegated to fighting the forces of the Native Islanders. Armed with Jet fighters, advanced bombers, and brand new equipment, the well-entrenched and battle-hardened troops of Unit 631, are ready for a fight.

The Tseem

The Tseem People, are the Natives of Kazanjima, descending from the sea-going peoples of Taiwan, and other cultures of Asia that migrated and spread throughout the Pacific. A highly advanced Austronesian people, the Tseem, have lived on Kazanjima for an estimated 2,000 years, and have built elaborate temples to their gods, and structures throughout the island. Their innovative farming techniques for a number of crops, such as Copra, Rice, and Banana are often attributed as the root causes of the island's ability to be self-sustainable and isolationist. Numbering about 34,000, the Tseem have been subjected to slavery, medical experiments, and other unspeakable crimes at the hands of Unit 631 following its arrival on Kazanjima in 1938. A number of the Tseem, have escaped into the jungles, engaging in resistance operations against the Japanese troops and whoever else threatens their way of life. Armed with rifles, and traditional weapons such as bows, blowguns, and swords as well as an unmatched knowledge of the islands, the Tseem Resistance fighters are a force to be reckoned with.

The Office of Strategic Services Operations Division

The OSS Operations division is made up of the Western Allies' best and brightest. As apart of the Occupation Force in Japan, the Operations Division was tasked with tracking down every little secret the Japanese Empire kept. Australian, New Zealander, British, and American agents combed over hundreds of files, reports, and interviewed hundreds of former Imperial scientists, soldiers, and political leaders. The idea of a garrison on Kazanjima, was simply dismissed over and over again by higher-ups as baseless rumor, simply due to a lack of evidence. Until 1949, when the OSS got its' lucky break and the ultimate clue. A radio signal from Kazanjima was picked up, the island chain never thought to have been occupied by the Imperial Military, had a garrison. One that was requesting instructions from Imperial High Command. Almost immediately, an Allied Force was dispatched to the island to take it. Armed with new aircraft such as the North American F-86A Sabre, the Lockheed F-80B Shooting Star, the Grumman F8F Bearcat and the F9F Panther, along with the venerable M1 Garand and SMLE Rifles, the M1911, the M1 Sherman tank, and the Thompson Submachine Gun; the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines of the Allies are more than ready to take Kazanjima.

9th NKVD Division

A Soviet spy-ring operating inside of the Allied force sent to take Kazanjima, the NKVD's mission is to acquire advanced Japanese technology found at the Kazanjima Facility, as well as report on the actions of Allied forces in the region, particularly during the Chinese Civil War, whose outcome will affect the very nature of the Soviet Union's standing in the region.

Need Help With: Feedback on the concept as well as developing the Tseen, Unit 631, and the lore. Note: I'm not looking for realism in this concept, as well, the whole idea is frankly insane, but I'm hoping it creates a fun and exciting RP.

I am interested. So, here are my questions:

1. Is this going to be an RL-nation only RP, or can I use West Aurelia?
2. Why is Unit 631 still around after the end of WWII?
3. Are all of the main Allies (US, UK, USSR, France) participating, which is why the Soviets are able to spy on them, or is it only the Western nations and the Soviets have spies among their ranks?
4. Are the Tseem going to be fighting against the Allies or alongside them?
5. What are each of the factions' goals?
6. How big is the Ku-Go (is it handheld or a giant death ray?) and what does it do to its target?
