Or maybe Captain Black. Or Blackheart. I'm not sure if you're looking for eccentric names or what here, but maybe Captain Malleus, or Captain Astaroth, or some shit like that.
For the ship, maybe Irkalla, Kur, Bahamut, Ouroboros, Tiamat.
I don't know, just tossing names here. Hope some of that helps.
Thanks.
I worked on it some more during the weekend, but I've still got quite a bit to work on.
And I'm iffy on some of the images I picked to illustrate things, but it's sadly rather difficult to find something that really matches my vision on the net, and I'm no good at drawing. >.>
For ship name?
Archimedes, Nemo, or Interstellar.

I'm not exactly sure of where or when it would take place, but I'm thinking of placing it in a slum/very poor urban area sometime in the early- to mid-20th century; perhaps sometime around WWII? I'm thinking I would like it to take place in a time and place when/where religion was quite important to the individual and to the community, while having some modern elements, and seeing how certain historical events would affect the characters. Also, I've been debating whether or not to include fantasy elements. Thoughts? (I'll put it in the form once I have a better idea of what I want to do.)

Flag.
YES!

More people like sci-fi and military than fantasy.

I don't think there's much to broaden without making it a generic nation RP.
I want to do something original, something that would be out of the norm. Test out the new waters.
Hmm, fair enough. A reasonable impulse; you might want to write up a bit of a background for your RPers to be aware of, in that case, to ensure they're on the same page as you in regards to your setting. Reading never hurt anyone.
