RECOGNIZING the importance of self defence for the people of Aurentina,
REALIZING that there is a threat from Mafias and other violent organizations,
ALARMED that this Bill extremely limits the ability of citizens to defend themselves in public,
NOTING the difficulty and cost of registering all firearms into a national database,
ALARMED that this national database infringes upon citizen's privacy,
HEREBY:
REPEALS Article 2 Section A,
AMENDS Article 2 Section B to say:
"Firearms may not be discharged in public. The following are an exemption to this rule:
- Law enforcement officers returning fire when under fire themselves or firing in emergency situations.
- Military and law enforcement salutes at ceremonies or at funerals and other significant occasions.
- Military forces on exercise.
- Citizens defending themselves from violence"
REPEALS Article 2 Section C,
AMENDS Article 2 Section E to say,:
"Firearms may be discharged on private land. Dicharging firearms at other people or road vehicles on a public highway is also illegal."
AMENDS Article 2 Section F to say:
"Children between the ages of 5 and 18 may use firearms with strict parental supervision either on private property or within fire ranges."
REPEALS Article 2 Section G.
