No, that wasn't what is being implied. It's referring to more and more Maltese not allowing the Catholic Church have such an influence on state policy.

The fact that this bill comes only 3 years after they legalized divorce shows how much of an improvement there is.

I see what you mean now. There's a difference between Church inflence on state policy and the religion of the general population.

...And nobody really applied for candidacies. *sigh*

Pesda is confirmed for another term as Chief Whip since there is nobody to oppose him.

Boris becomes External Relations Commissioner.

"The party has good relations with the PC already, therefore it make sense to have an ERC who has good relations with the right. Thus the party has good relations for better cooperation with all parties in the senate. Regardless of what you think of me personally it makes strategic sense for the party." Said Boris.

"Oh, and I also think we should have a whip against the current act at vote. I believe it will result in a reduction in the NMW since most of the acts supporters cite a need or desire to implement a lower NMW as a reason for supporting such reform."

1. Boris is a registered member of the party and therefore qualified to be on the Central Committee at his own leisure
2. You could have just as easily applied to be ERC and forced an election, but you didn't.

Who am I to circumvent democracy because Boris just so happens to also be a member of the right-wing coalition?

You're unlikely to find anyone who openly identifies as atheist in Malta. At best, possibly apatheist. I know that even my cousins are fairly religious (at least compared to people in other Western countries), although it is not an overwhelmingly dominating part of their life, which is why stuff like the divorce referendum and the recent civil unions bill has passed.

And hey, we can claim to be more socially progressive than our larger neighbour Italy.

Perhaps we need to find methods of revival. It could be because this RP is mostly humdrum, and international interaction is severely limited. Perhaps if we could do limited interaction with the foreign world or something, it'd be funner. We shape a new world through our influences, rather than just being permanently masted to the RL universe.
