Mine is an ex-admiral of the British navy. He is the single largest shipowner in Aurentina, and frequently donates large amounts to charity.

My senator built homes for the poor in Bangladesh, performed pro bono surgeries for the needy, and donates money to/is involved with charities.
Clearly, my Senator has had a more positive impact on humanity.

Dr. Esther Kayserling - Progressive Conservative Party
Account Name: Evraim
Occupation: Ecologist
Party Position(s):Party Member
Positions in Government:Senator
Constituency: Milhaas
Political Ideology: Conservative Liberalism
Family:Father - Ariel Kayserling (54)
Mother - Roberta Kayserling (56)
Brother - Ethan Kayserling (32)
Sister - Rebecca Kayserling (25)
Background: A self-professed denizen of the world, Esther Kayserling was born in a small suburb of Metz, Alsace-Lorraine to middle-class parents. Her father, Ariel Kayserling was an architect of Israeli nationality, while her mother, Roberta, was an English citizen and chemist. The family had inhabited several European countries including France, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. In fact, Esther's siblings Ethan and Rebecca were born in the UK and the US respectively. Eventually, as their children grew older, the venturesome couple decided to settle down. They moved to Aurentina just as Ethan was beginning grade school.
Esther, together with her brother and sister, was enrolled in an international school, where she quickly mastered English and demonstrated an admirable curiosity of the natural world. As she grew up, Esther became involved in multiple extracurricular activities such as ballet and, for a brief period of time, football. Additionally, she learned to play the cello. Despite these accomplishments, the future politician was shy or awkward around her peers, maintaining only one or two close friends throughout her enrollment in school. At the age of seventeen, she graduated while obtaining the honor of egregia cum laude and won a scholarship to attend university.
She studied the biological and ecological sciences, partaking in numerous research projects. Around this time, Esther also began to associate with the student wing of the Progressive Conservative Party, attracted to its humanistic and pragmatic approach to policy. This along with her participation in the university's orchestra led her to become far more social and active in the community. During her junior year, she was elected as the vice president of the organization. In the same year, Esther also volunteered to assist with the Progressive Conservatives' campaign efforts, handing out pamphlets and helping fellow students register to vote. By her senior year, she was elected to act as the student chapter's president, completing her metamorphosis from a shut-in to a social butterfly.
Kayserling acquired her bachelor's degree within four years, and then began working on her post-graduate studies. At the same time, she remained active in partisan politics, lobbying senators to adopt a formalized platform to address issues of crime, national security, damage to the environment, and public education. Soon after she had completed her studies, Esther was invited to join the Progressive Conservative list, and enjoyed a prominent electoral success against an incumbent senator affiliated with the Liberal Democratic Party. At the moment, Senator Kayserling is primarily concerned with comprehensive judicial reform, the creation of a public educational system which affords all students an equal opportunity to prosper and grow, and, as ever, establishing safeguards to protect the environment, such as public transporation systems and anti-pollution laws.

Questions:Disgusted of Sant-Margraite wrote:How can you call yourself a representative of the people when you went to university, unlike the majority of the population?
Yours, Disgusted of Sant-Margraite
I do not believe that descriptive representation is necessary in order for the Senate to represent the interests of the population. Instead, I think that a yearning to make this country a kinder, gentler, fairer, and more moral place, a place where all children will enjoy equal opportunities and the fruits of liberty, is sufficient. I understand the frustration you and many others feel with the status quo. I am just as frustrated, just as outraged, just as eager to implement reforms to level the playing fields. The first step is to ensure that a public education system is established under guidelines that will not discriminate against less affluent neighborhoods. My aspiration is that during my tenure as senator we might take that first step into a more just and egalitarian age.Amadeus Russell wrote:What directed you to the Progressive-Tories over other parties, and can you foresee any other political calamities like that which befell the CFE recently?
I was attracted to their pragmatic yet humanistic approach to government and policy. As a small girl, my parents, who both support the Liberal Democratic Party, would constantly complain about the inability of the various parties to compromise in vital debates or to put the good of the nation as a whole over petty partisan politics. Additionally, they decried the callousness of the right-wing organizations for denying welfare and healthcare to the poor and restricting access to important social institutions such as schools and sports clubs. In college, I became affiliated with the Progressive Conservatives.
I confess part of the motivation was that most of my close friends participated in the student wing of the PCP. Eventually though, I came to identify with their platform, and the rest of the story is history, I suppose. My parents and brother, who volunteers for the Communist committees, still joke about the whole conversion. In fact, I think they might have voted for the former incumbent, Berthold Kreuzer, in the last election if my brother's jests resemble anything close to the truth.Jack Rizvi wrote:Yo, Estie! It's me, gal'! Remember in the summer of [DATA CORRUPTION, CONTACT TECH SUPPORT] when we were like together for a few weeks and you put out? You were never this big back then, what made you want to be like this yeah?
...I have no recollection. To answer the more salient question, Jack, I wanted to represent the people of this great nation, to provide them with a passionate and rational voice in the government. It is my hope that I will succeed in improving conditions in Aurentina for all people, regardless of class, ethnicity, race, religion, sex, or gender, and help to create a better tomorrow.Richard Sharpe (Lt) wrote:Looking at your portfolio, you don't seem to have many clearly expressed views on the Military. As a serving Junior Officer in the army you can naturally see my feelings are strong about this, could you elaborate at all on this?
I believe we ought to eschew war so long as it is practical and moral to do so. Despite this, national security and the rights of veterans are two of my principal concerns. On the one hand, Aurentina ought to safeguard its autonomy from foreign threats and act as a force for human rights throughout the world. On the other, I understand that warfare can have a number of unsavory effects of the health of soldiers. As a result, while we should be willing to deploy the military under extreme circumstances, we should also implement legislation which would enable veterans to become integrated into society and receive adequate compensation for their sacrifices.
In particular, I would like the Senate to discuss military scholarships and grants which would permit our soldiers, regardless of income or background, to attend university and acquire skills useful to civilian life if that is their desire and to increase funding to psychological research centers to ameliorate conditions such as PTSD, which affect large portions of the military age population even after wars have been concluded. I hope that adequately answers your question, Richard. I would also like to thank you for the services you have rendered to your nation and people.Anastasia wrote:It's nice to see a woman not afraid to kick-ass and take names! CYA GURRRL! \('u')/
Thank you, Anastasia. I am flattered to serve as an inspiration for young people - or anyone else for that matter. Passionate commitment to a cause is the quickest way to rectify the injustices and problems of the world, and I am confident that, as your generation grows and goes out into the world, they will accomplish great things, things that our predecessors could never have imagined. Keep up the hard work.
On the subject of composers, I am more than fond of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Vitali, Bach, Beethoven, and Gebirtig. I am also partial to modern musicians and composers like Itzhak Perlman, Sarah Chang, and Lindsey Stirling. More generally, soft music or folk music of any sort holds a special appeal to me. It speaks to my soul - if you will. That's not to say that I wouldn't listen to other styles and genres. I'm always open to learning more and to appreciating diversity - especially when it pertains to music.Richeza Bolesławówna wrote:Senator Kayserling how come an ecologist with so keen an interest in environmental issues as you have chosen to be part of a party with so lax an attitude to environmental issues?
