COUNCIL, aye.
Don't be deceived when our Revolution has finally been stamped out and they tell you things are better now even if there's no poverty to see, because the poverty's been hidden...even if you ever got more wages and could afford to buy more of these new and useless goods which these new industries foist on you, and even if it seems to you that "you never had so much" - that is only the slogan of those who have much more than you.

Holding a vote on this, especially whilst a new constitution is in the talking stage, may not be a good idea.

I abstain on both, and I shall also veto whichever one passes.

I would only if it had a 66% majority passed. As I said, I wish for a firm consensus to be reached, not a bill winning by a few votes.

In light of this quite fair declaration, I move that we end voting on entire omnibus and move on to next thing in queue.

He will resign so it doesn't matter.

But if we can't get a 66% vote either way, why would the Council be able to? We still have to choose one in the end.

Can anyone summarize the procedure for a veto and/or senatorial response thereto?

Opposed. His threat regarding the ECFA is worthless, he can't veto it as he would be removed from office and a new election would be held immediately.

I object to this. There is still the possibility that one bill may obtain a 66% supermajority, as slim as it is.

Consensus is always possible. A way will be found and the only way to express it is through the Council of State.

I think he wants the Council to choose because it is equally balanced between political ideologies, giving disproportionate weight to the right.

Either way, stating one's opposition is fine. Seconding it is a little wasteful, but this is Forum 7, and it does show strength.
