Yeah, but it's virtually unknown. I mean, if you hadn't happened to see that show, would you know about it?

"Never be deceived that the rich will permit you to vote away their wealth." - Lucy Parsons
Socialism is an economic system characterised by social ownership of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy. "Social ownership" may refer to cooperative enterprises, common ownership, state ownership, citizen ownership of equity, or any combination of these. There are many varieties of socialism and there is no single definition encapsulating all of them. They differ in the type of social ownership they advocate, the degree to which they rely on markets or planning, how management is to be organised within productive institutions, and the role of the state in constructing socialism.

I noticed how the Vichy Conflicts seemed to have been glossed over in history.

That's because Vichy didn't really do anything. It sort of sat there being a bit pointless in France and Africa, and tried to take the piss with the Japanese in Indochina, which didn't go down all that well but then neither side really cared.

Boxer Rebellion.
Welcome to 1938.

I thought ten thousand swords must have leaped from their scabbards to avenge even a look that threatened her with insult. But the age of chivalry is gone. That of sophisters, economists, and calculators has succeeded; and the glory of Europe is extinguished for ever.

Not everyone in New York is Irish. I've heard there are pockets of Italians, some Chinese and even a few Jews here and there.

And I still have to go with the War of Jenkins' Ear.

Oh because the complete and total destruction of a superpowers naval and land forces by a third world power that had almost no naval forces or any means to fight a global war at the time.

I believe he was talking about Spain circa 1898, which could in no way at that point in its history classed as a "super-power" after having spent the last 70 years in governmental upheaval. Nor could the US be considered "third world" and having "almost no naval forces" as we had almost 4 times as large a Navy at that point as Spain.
Such heroic nonsense!

Yeah, but I know history, and I found it pathetic that he tried to relate Boyne to the Catholic/Republican-Protestant/Unionist conflict. I usually only post like a plastic Paddy for the lulz, if it's about Cromwell (I really dislike how he is portrayed in the U.S. so I tend to get very vocal about him), or shit gets heated really badly. IRL I know better than to act like one, I've been back enough times to know Plastic Paddies aren't liked all that much.

lol, you have a poor grasp on the ethnic make up of New York. I wouldn't even know where to begin describing how many different ethnic groups reside in New York, theres too many to name. Every major ethnicity, as well as a vast majority of the smaller groups has some representation (not the best choice of words, I know, but you get the idea) in New York. Italians and Jews probably make up a vast majority of the population, though.
