The last time the Colts lost a game was in the 1983 season; they have not lost since. I expect that to continue.

History tells me "not well" (I'm a Browns fan, but Ohio football being what it is, I'll root for the Bengals too) but it looks like we had an okay draft this year and I'm interested to see what we do at QB since we somehow picked up Colt McCoy. So now we have Jake Delhomme, Seneca Wallace and Colt McCoy at QB. I don't know why we took a RB, but it could have been worse. We picked up a couple guys for our secondary (which was pretty terrible last year, even for us) and made some drastic changes to both the lineup and the organization. I still doubt we'll make the playoffs while I'm alive, but at least this year will be interesting to watch.

I can't WAIT to watch McCoy try one of his faggy QB runs that, while a working gimmick in college ball, will get him utterly wrecked on the pro level. It will please me :)

As for the original topic, being a Nevadan means I don't really have a pro team to root for, which is kind of sad but what're ya gonna do? So instead I'll chooooooose...the Detroit Lions. Super Bowl champions this year, amirite? ;)

You know, Seneca Wallace might have some upside. He's gotten quite a bit better, and while he'll never be Peyton he's got a future as a Kerry Collins-style QB. He has gotten better...his second year, his interception rate was 5%, while in 2008 (the last year he had 100+ attempts) it was down to 1.2%, which was good for first place in the league, and the fourth-best season interception rate among qualifying players all-time. He's making progress, and I can see him as a good journeyman game-manager to keep teams from spiraling out of control while they're rebuilding.

Anyone who can get better has a chance. As long as he doesn't morph into JaMarcus Russell (fat and lazy) he'll be fine.

My prediction is the Redskins will be significantly improved, but their record won't show it.

I'm thinking 6-10.

Wow...I hope Jake isn't your starting QB, because if he is, then you might want to look at Carolina Panther's 2009 season.

As for the Carolina Panthers, I think this year will be the year that they figure everything out, how to make the team work so that they're a Super Bowl contender. So I don't expect them to go to the Playoffs in 2010, but in 2011, who knows.

This is the year for the Texans. I think that Ben Tate may just be able to keep Slaton out of the team, and if Johnson and Schaub have another good season together, I see no reason that Texans can't debut at the Play-Offs.

Prediction: 10-6

I imagine he'll start at first, and over time they'd probably work in McCoy unless Delhomme has a good season. What we have now can't possibly be worse than our last few QB packages.

Once again, I refer you to Panther's 2009 season. A season that was partly salvaged thanks to Matt Moore. Jake had one of the worse interception records in the NFL in 2009. So if you really care about your team, then stick Jake on the practice squad and have McCoy start.

Honestly, on April 26, I don't really care. The Flyers just knocked off the Devils and the Phillies are doing well.

As for the Eagles, they'll regret trading McNabb. Right now, I'm thinking 9-7, but get back to me in late July, at the earliest.

With the notable difference that the Panthers have at least been perennial playoff contenders under Delhomme whereas the Browns only came close once since they returned to the League. Okay fine, he had a terrible start in '09 but again, it can't possibly be worse than our last few QBs. Maybe they will just put him on the practice squad, but that probably wasn't their intention at first and I imagine they weren't expecting to get McCoy.

My adopted team, the Cleveland Browns (since Randy Lerner, owner of my football team Aston Villa, own them) haven't done that well in recent history. I assume they'll continue in that fashion.

But why on Earth do you have this weird system in the US? There's no promotion and relegation- it's a complete and utter travesty!

I beg to differ.

Relegation would have meant the Detroit Lions would not be an NFL team last season. The St. Louis Rams would also be in a lower-level league. Promotion and relegation would give the lower-rung teams more of an incentive to win games instead of tanking them to get the No. 1 draft pick.

To relegate a team to a lower league would be to relegate it out of existence altogether. The commercial situation of professional sports teams is different in the US than in Europe, and teams that are built to rely on the unbelievably lucrative television and endorsement deals, as well as the national exposure, simply could not financially survive relegation. It would effectively result in a return to the earliest days of the NFL, with teams folding mid-season and everything else.

As an Oakland Raiders fan I'd say we are greatly improved through the draft. We also have Jason Campbell now and the Russel experiment is likely over. I say 6 wins is the over under and better days to come next season (11).
