This is false. HIV and other STDs can be transfered through lesbian sex. It is the lowest-risk sex, but it is far from risk-free.
How would you react if you found out your gay teenage child was having sex, assuming you already knew he/she was gay?
I wouldn't care if any teenage child of mine, gay or straight or bi or whatever, was having sex as long as he or she was well aware of the risks and was behaving responsibly with respect to them. But that condition holds whatever his or her sexual orientation.
