I don't understand why "equal amount of time doing X" is more practical for you than splitting tasks when it comes to child-rearing.

I mean, both my parents worked but I never exactly felt neglected (when they were around at any rate), and they knew how to delegate the tasks at home. It's not the man's duty to do anything, neither is the woman's. Well, there is, to raise the child, but how they raise their child is each couple's problem. We can't make the assumption that equal time of child care = equal quality of child care. Of course, this is assuming one sits down with their partners and talk about their strengths and weaknesses and not just go "LOL NOPE, YOU GOTTA DO THE SAME WORK AS I DO!"

That aside, just because something is not true doesn't mean that it can't be used as fodder. I mean, this is why Donald Trump won, because he pushed the line Republicans have been for years about Clinton, even if none of what he was saying was true and even later on he said she had done a great amount of benefit towards the country in his victory speech. It being true has nothing to do with it being used as a line of attack.

In other words, truth only matters if you can sell it right. What Gauth is saying, again, is not that MRAs are right, but that things like these are giving them ammunition to legitimize their narrative, which, again, is true.

I'll admit my experience is somewhat limited, but I've never even heard an MRA scream that women need to get out of the workplace and back to child rearing.
