Well, currently, in London,the likes of Dr. Jelena Bekvalec are studying the remains of 13+ bodies from a recently discovered catastrophe cemetery. All seem to have perished during the plague epidemic of the 1300s. I think the goal is to finally understand the colossal death toll and find a way to treat/cure plague.

Apparently, death happened so quickly that it is hard to find any traces of it on the bones. The Medieval plague killed rapidly, too rapidly, compared to other outbreaks of it we've had.

If said plague had been a bit more patient and killed more slowly, the death toll might actually have been even higher.

It was quite high as it was.

Besides, I don't think a slower pace to it would've done much with the death toll. The truth is the speed provoked a fizzle off of it in less than 3 years. I guess that so many people died it couldn't continue it's spread. Or that's what I've heard several scholars point out. Also, people got used to it because after the big breakout of the 1300s, the plague returned every few years. Each time the death toll seemed to have been lesser.

You have to pump as much anti-government pro-freedom of everything stuff as you can.
