It's a good point. Trump's answer to the last question was really good (much better than Clinton's) but it has taken the option off the table to criticize her "stamina".

He can still go after her health though, and he will.

Because he has nothing else. He has no real policy proposals except tax cuts, which is hardly original, and promises to somehow make America great. All he can do is insult and attack. Why else would have been talking about 'We was robbed!' for the last couple of months?

It's truly amazing he didn't practice with a mic and get that problem fixed by the second debate.

Someone ITT wondered why he doesn't *sniff* at rallies. I think maybe he does, but with all the crowd noise it's not noticeable. Or maybe he just shouts, because of that noise, but didn't want to do that in the debate so he held the mic close.

Actually thinking about as some one who was for a time a forum admin, all that would need to be done is lock the NSG sub-forum, like the archive you can see, but can't post. Sure, the NS Admins would have a lot of un-happy posters, but the mod team wouldn't have to baby sit the NSG full time. Reppy, she could then take a nap, after drinking two jugs of cider.

He must be used to lapel mics.

There WAS a sound problem at the first debate: not on the video feed, but in the auditorium. Trump wasn't as loud as Clinton. Maybe that was even deliberate ('cos having to stay quiet to hear him, his supporters wouldn't cheer or heckle as much) but the debate commission didn't confess to that. Only that there was a sound problem in the auditorium.

The second debate with hand-held mics, Trump has no excuse. He didn't practice, so he sounded bad.

In other news..

US presidential hopefuls do not often intervene in British parliamentary by-elections. But then, not many presidential candidates are Bernie Sanders. And more than that, he is intervening on behalf of his older brother.

Sanders, who missed out on taking the Democratic nomination from Hillary Clinton, has recorded a brief but heartfelt campaign video aimed at voters in Witney, Oxfordshire, that talks up the attributes of his brother, Larry.

Larry Sanders, who has lived in the UK since 1969, is standing for the Green party in the constituency, which will elect a new MP on 20 October to replace David Cameron, who quit the Commons last month.

Bernie Sanders tells viewers in the video “that I do not know a heck of a lot about British politics”, adding: “But I do know a lot about my brother, Larry Sanders.”
