Huswyae is particularly upset, I actually don't mind THAT much, it was about the how to deal with ISIS thread (fact book, not general), I didn't take it too seriously, so I posted some FT god-mod ways to destroy ISIS. Personally, I don't mind that they mention me (since Eclius is merely a toy, it doesn't reflect my political beliefs anyway) but the way they hurt Huswyae is unacceptable

I don't know, but the comment section was all about Huswyae, I honestly don't know what they said (I only listened to the part where I was mentioned, don't have time to waste listening to trashy podcasts)

Are they making more than one? Seems like a one time thing. Maybe not if you send emails and we can get something of a Streisand effect.

I listened to plenty of the podcast, not a balanced portrayal of course but they were just poking fun and being silly, silly podcast and sometimes pretty funny. I don't believe it should be taken too seriously and if we take it seriously it'll probably just make it lulzier for those making fun.

Cripes, we've added some 8,000 nations to the game overnight. Like I told the other game mods: target-rich environment! So freakin' many name/field/flag violations in the flood.

I'm curious as to how this measures up to past mentions on popular sites. Are there any statistics that would tells what the record is for most users joining in a 24 hour period?

I'm also wondering how the rule violations measure up to mentions on other sites. I know the site was mentioned on 4chan's /his/ (History & Humanities) board a few months back. The entire thread was either people wanting to start a region and take the game seriously or people reminiscing about how they used to have a nation. I've always been curious as to how many people saw the thread, didn't post and decided to troll here. Probably wasn't that many as /his/ isn't one of the big boards.

I didn't even know there was a /his/ board and I've been visiting 4chan out of morbid curiosity more lately.

The point of such things is similar to bullying in K-12. Asking nicely or raging only makes you a bigger target to be mined for "lulz". The most effective response is to just continually ban and silence these types on your own site and act like they don't exist. Eventually, they'll get bored and leave, because it's a form of bullying or mockery for amusement rather than a principled attack, so they'll move onto some other target.

Other responses include "owning it", although that's a mixed bag.
