I had shingles on my face and scalp earlier this year..

Yeah stress has quite a few negative effects on your body and mind.

Hmm, a mixture of reasons.

I don't fancy myself as all that insightful when it comes to the advanced stuff, especially when mathematics comes into play. I easily get confused because I tend to visually imagine stuff.

So when you're talking about a Principal Component Analysis which results in around 100 dimensions (so 97 more than 3D) or more, it's hard to visually imagine it. I don't *have* to do (and in some instance you can't and shouldn't, like with PCA) that but I always do it, by nature, and it trips me up. I get stuck because I try to process stuff in my own way.

Secondly, I'm not that dedicated a programmer. Last year I was decent at Perl but after my exam I never used it, mostly because I don't do stuff just because. I need a goal that I want to achieve, and I've only used programming for either mandatory exercises or for research work, like writing a pipeline. That's more of a matter of personal dedication to my field and I need to work on that. Start programming instead of watching Family Guy.

Thirdly one of my best mates (who has already graduated because unlike me he always passed) did the same as I and he's absolutely brilliant at everything science-y. Best of the year. I've got the unhealthy tendency to compare myself with him.

R i dont know, but i guess the infomatics part implies the programming, complicated is interesting. being able to learn in your career is a positive.
