I don't think that's necessary in this case. and ABC particularly is known for smudging the truth to make things more...sensation.(see zimmerman case)

Actually, the video shows his hands clearly in the air until he reached the front door of his vehicle (which he never got open).
Unfortunately, the helicopter circled in such a way as to obscure the critical moment from the helicopter's view, and the officers in question were blocking the only dash cam on scene, so it's hard to see what actually happened in that critical moment.

One article says there was more than 1 dash cam.

yes it almost seems like an unconscious denial of personhood evidencing OP's inherent bias and 'othering' of Blackness
the report says the police were responding to a stalled car and the driver had his hands up and was ten tasered when he went to his vehicles door?
um why would Police consider a stalled vehicle to be a volatile situation needing both tasers and firearms?
the dashcam footage would be helpful in this case - afterall if they have nothing to hide...

It's sad to think society mistrusts law enforcement to the point of this being a necessity.

Except nine times out of ten, it's not "shitty behavior", it's honest police work. When it all comes down to it, any injury resulting from resisting arrest is your own damn fault. The law always wins.

Police officers are not granted impunity to kill when a suspect does not behave perfectly. They are not James Bond, and do not possess a license to kill with impunity.
They must still act in a reasonable manner even if the suspect is not - it's just that reasonable manner can take into account the way the suspect is acting to determine whether the officer's actions are reasonable.
In any case, we've watched these cases over and over again get literally sabotaged by the prosecution, even when there's a good case, watched police witnesses lie, evidence be destroyed, and all other kinds of coverup behavior over and over again, and it's tolerated, and, in some instances, even encouraged.
I'm not saying this is that case. I am saying this festering mistrust has a strong basis in reality based on actions we've observed.
