Rassafrackin' celebration penalties.

I'm still torqued about Vernon Davis being called for an (admittedly poor form) jump shot.

Welcome to Goodell's No Fun League.

I understand not going psycho with the celebration, and I understand not shoving your jock in a dude's face, but things like the "bow and arrow", or twerking, or a jumpshot over the goalpost....

That's petty. You don't want your feelings hurt? Stop the dude from reaching the endzone.

And the worst thing is the utter lack of consistency, as also with PI calls that sometimes seem totally random.

You mean the PI flags for being within two counties of the receiver? Yeah, I love that. It usually is followed by a make-up no-call where the receiver is essentially sexually assaulted.

Because Budweiser doesn't want their pisswater associated with so vile an act as the vigorous gyration of a man's posterior.

Budweiser should be considered an insult in and of itself. I love how Rockstar Games mocks them by their "fictional" Pisswasser brand.

Well, Budweiser and Miller are uniting their ownership. Because nobody could tell the damn difference in a blind taste test.

The bow and arrow didn't used to be that either. Brandin Cooks used to do that all time last season, he never got called...I don't get a lot of these. It's one thing if it's Cam Newton acting up and purposefully angering other players. It's another thing if Leveon Bell does The Carlton in the endzone.

It's my (lacking evidence aside) belief that Goodell has a "Wheel of Morality" in his office, and he spins it annually. Whichever infraction it lands on must be blown out of proportion that entire year.

Then immediately walked back when the wheel is spun again.

It's Roger Goodell we're talking about. It could literally be anything from a fine to 10 weeks. There's no consistent pattern to try to follow.

And on that note, DeAngelo Williams is calling Goodell out on his handling of Vontaze Burfict. This guy has accrued $800,000 in fines in a relatively short career, and you're not going to suspend him for his behavior against New England? After all the talking he has done about player safety? Hypocrisy at its finest. Any bets on how long it takes Goodell to invent a reason to fine Williams?

The funny part is, it may very well be the NFL owners losing money by fielding an inferior product that takes him down, not the constant flailing like a five year old.

Ratings are down for the NFL this year. Revenues tend to follow ratings.

If the Ginger Hammer can't direct a recovery by responding to the issues causing a decrease in ratings, the owners will fire his ass.

Ahhhhhhhh.

This means the question becomes who is more important?

The fans who demand "pure football", free of those dangerous twerks and disgusting bow and arrow motions?

Or the fans who want to watch men play with actual emotion.

I'm not a big fan of the twerking myself...not after watching Miley Cyrus do it on Robin Thicke...erm...but I mean, I also don't think it should amount to a fine. And the bow and arrow is not offensive either (unless, of course, it's aimed at the other team's flag, then it might be a bit much)...so I'm in the middle. I'm just a fan, I want my football, and I'm tired of seeing penalties for things that don't need to be penalized while NFL players who have been accused of domestic violence are ignored and allowed to play and do whatever. >.<
