I don't think so (I don't remember 100% of it tbh).
I'm pretty sure the absinthe with enough of the hallucinogenic drug to make you hallucinate is banned. They limit it under the law.

Okay, I think I can answer both. Here in the States, Tokaj/Tokaji/Tokay does NOT come cheap, especially at higher puttonyos (sweetness levels), but it can be ordered over the net at most high-end wine vendors (post scriptum...I just found some relatively inexpensively at Wine Direct. I'm sure wine.com would also work, but it MAY be more expensive). As for the Green Goddess, most modern absinthe, not just in the States, must NOT contain significant amounts of the compound thujone, which comes from the traditional wormwood component of the drink. Thought to be a mild hallucinogenic, thujone is also seen by some as the compound responsible for the sickness found in many longtime absinthe drinkers of old, though studies show that it's not particularly harmful in small quantities and that it may have been the extreme proof of the alcohol that was actually to blame.

The horror stories you're hearing are probably not from the thujone and more from the sheer volume of alcohol drunkMajor-Tom wrote:Atlanticatia wrote:I've had absinthe before. That was...interesting. The aftermath was not fun. I also chased it with beer which probably wasn't the best idea lol.

I've heard of that. That said, I know variants of moonshine deep in Appalachia, when not regulated, can make you hallucinate in a petrifying way.

It's pretty damn good. I'd recommend Stolen rum to you in return, if they sell it where you live. Dark rum with coffee and even tobacco overtones. Good just to sip.

I have a small set of alcoholic drinks i usually end up getting when im out: Southern Comfort (usually with lemonade), ciders (usually pear) and Captain Morgan's (usually with coke or something similar)
Ever tired one of those cinnamon shots with Capt Morgan?

Bloke at a party once tried to make me a long island ice tea once. Never making that mistake again.

What type of tea? And do you have time to talk about our lord and savior coffee?
Speaking of coffee: to the caffeine fiends out there, how do you like your coffee?
Hot or cold?
With or without crème? How much if you do?
With or without sugar? How much if you do?
Do you add anything else to your coffee? e.g. Honey, cinnamon, whiskey, etc..
Any other form of coffee you like? e.g. Starbucks, Boston Stokes, etc...
