Increase in the phenomenon will increase the support for the burqa's banning, it just so happens that more Muslims are coming from Iraq and Syria, in the process bring the tradition with them; it isn't nessecarily about the race, moreso about the fact that is becoming increasingly common. That is sickening but I doubt it is common among Australians.
Not a common occurrence but bogans and a fair amount of the underclass are still very racist. There have been quite a number of assaults on Muslims and Indians in the past few years. It doesn't stop that Australia is a very xenophobic nation.
