It'll allow a general obliviousness to work to your advantage haha.

Speaking seriously, I don't think I've been out where anyone I was out with was trying to pull, except for girls who were also in the group.
Not since first year, anyway.

First year, my coursemates took it upon themselves to try and get me laid, because the only other ex-virgin had gotten himself laid in Fresher's Week (while paralytic, mind).
I kid you not, I would run away when they tried. I'd either hide at the bar or in the toilets.

The rationalisation was, I wasn't interested in what they thought was someone I should fuck. Not sure how much I ever really believed that.

LDR never works, I try my best to avoid it.

I wouldn't say never. I've been in an LDR for over a year now and we're still going strong.

I could just never do a LDR. Three weeks away from my friends and girlfriend here in Europe is already a tiny bit too long for me. Verbal communication and physical contact is something I need in any relationship.

Good for you, have you two ever met or did it develop into a LDR because of moving away?

I don't think there's anything inherently flawed about an LDR, as long as there is actual in-person contact from time to time.

I met my girlfriend two times. We started our relationship in November 2013, met in December 2014 and again in July 2015. Decided to break up in March 2016, quite a nice run I think.

Aw man, that sucks. I'm going to be in an LDR (been dating for 3 years as of now). We're in an open relationship, so it doesn't matter to me.

I couldn't handle an open relationship tbh. When I am dating I do it for a long run, marriage, and for me an open marriage is definitly out of question. Otherwise it feels like a "friends-with-benefits" situation and that doesn't seem comfortable to me.

That said, I keep my virginity until marriage.

That's far, it's certainly not for everyone. I intend to marry this woman when I get the opportunity.

I think if you have an open relationship, that makes long-distance easier, cos then you aren't being held back from going out and meeting people locally.

A closed-relationship that is a long distance relationship too requires lots of dedication, that is correct.

It hurts too that I can't pick up signals at all (friends have told me years after the fact that girls liked me when I had no idea).

Apparently at clubs I've had girls be really enthusiastically dancing with me and I just am completely oblivious to this.

Though other men silently trying to dance between me and my friends and then push me somewhere away from them by dancing is usually somewhat more worthy of my attention anyway.

Literally, just learn a little about women's shoes or dresses or jewelry. If you're able to spot one of those things on them and recognize the brand, you can just talk about it a bit, without ever having to feel awkward or getting to involved in the whole "should I or should I not make my move." Pair it with a quick but humorous story of how or why you recognized it. You needn't lie, but you can usually just sport the whole "ex-girlfriend" thing if you don't want to.

For me, I was largely forced to learn, because I worked for one of the Student Newsletters. Had a huge change in editors during a Semester, went from 5 men to 4 women and 1 man. I made a comment about women's clothing all inherently looking the same as a joke, and was then was perpetually asked to cover stories about women's fashion, largely as a lighthearted 'screw you.'

When a girl dances with you, she finds you attractive or fun or just wants to see the buzz, the hook is the moment she finds someone that has some knowledge and is clever. A quick conversation with her is the buy-in, now she's invested her time. Both men and women have the same outlook on this. The more time invested, the more they're invested in spending additional time. Usually, clubs are too loud to talk, so you can invite them for a drink at the bar, talk some more, get their number, let them go. Text them at the end of the night asking if they arrived home safe, ask for a coffee date sometime in the near future (2-5 days)

Honestly, getting anxious about talking to people is dumb. Unless you're extremely attractive, trying to be overly romantic or eager is weird, especially if you just met them is weird. That being said have confidence. You're likely smarter than the majority of people around you, you're engaging, you're interesting, people want to know more about you.

Literally, be confident, be clever, be caring, and be a little mischievous.

Relationship? Never heard of that Magic: The Gathering card.

I don't have nor ever had a relationship because I'm awkward, introverted nerd who lacks the necessary confidence to talk to people in order to engage in a emotional and sexual association despite methods of encouragement and proper medication even if I share certain interests and hobbies with said people, and who refuses long distance relationships because I desperately feed on mental and physical social validation from others on a daily basis.

But I got 100% completion on Xenoblade Chronicles, and the satisfaction of doing so seem similar to that of what it would be when having a relationship. So it all works out.

I myself would never have gone for the shoes/clothes thing, but that's only because I'm a weird sort of woman, who was into D&D, video games, comics, and other things more than all that anyways, and still am. (Yes, bona fide geek girl here, my entire life, even with the country gal and tomboy tossed in.)

But those last bits are really the key. Put it wonderfully there, I think. From the avoiding being 'weird' in a bad way, to the good ways to be decent and all. Nice. :)

I was momentarily surprised this thread got this far without being locked.
