Only the media and middle class Brits seem to treat it as a joke. And Brexit voters are not gullible or idiots.
The movement is strong and seriously worrying the political establishment in countries such as France. I'd be most surprised if we were the last nation to leave.
Brexit voters voted because they thought they were protecting the NHS; preventing EU free movement for cheap Eastern Europeans to undercut their own labour; preventing migrants from middle eastern conflict from reaching the UK; to prevent Brussels from meddling, as they saw it, in UK law.
And it has since transpired that every last one of those is wrong, impossible, or will not occur as sold.
So yeah, if those were voted for, the person who voted for those reasons is either an idiot for not foreseeing the Leave campaign doing it, or gullible for listening to them.
