Only the media and middle class Brits seem to treat it as a joke. And Brexit voters are not gullible or idiots.
The movement is strong and seriously worrying the political establishment in countries such as France. I'd be most surprised if we were the last nation to leave.

Brexit voters voted because they thought they were protecting the NHS; preventing EU free movement for cheap Eastern Europeans to undercut their own labour; preventing migrants from middle eastern conflict from reaching the UK; to prevent Brussels from meddling, as they saw it, in UK law.

And it has since transpired that every last one of those is wrong, impossible, or will not occur as sold.
So yeah, if those were voted for, the person who voted for those reasons is either an idiot for not foreseeing the Leave campaign doing it, or gullible for listening to them.

Some of the money would be spent on the NHS. As far as I'm aware, only Farage has said it wouldn't be spent on the NHS and he's a nut with no power over government spending.
Free movement is a major reason why people voted to leave, so there will ultimately be no free movement. I don't think the EU will force us to accept free movement in return for trade.
While we should help asylum seekers, when we leave we can set the numbers of asylum seekers we take in, and can turn away as many unskilled economic migrants as we want, from any country.
We can now prevent Brussels from meddling. We can stop listening to it's imposed laws, unless we sign an agreement to follow EU law as part of a trade agreement. But that would never happen because people voted leave because they want to stop taking laws from Brussels.
Also, leaving provides advantages such as less pressure on housing, reducing house prices, and lower demand for access to the NHS and schooling.

Are you saying that "experts" have predicted that leave won't follow through on it's promises? I'd love to see some evidence for that.

And yeah Gove did fuck up education. While that doesn't necessarily mean he's bad at everything else, I'd still rather it be someone other than him as PM.

Most likely, Beleave or Frexit. Although Departugal does sound amazing... (I mean out of the possible leaves, they seem most likely to happen. And I just like the word 'departugal', not the concept.)

none of it will be spend on the NHS, even if only because our net gain from this will be in the negatives.

they might trade with you... with lots of restrictions. if you want single market access, you will accept the rules. if you don't get single market access, say good bye to your financial sector.

oh what a pissup, honestly. the housing crisis has a multitude of causes and "immigrants!" is fairly low down on them.

you can't follow through on your promises because no one is sure what they are, nobody has any plan on how they will work and what little we do know is a contradictory mess of "then i wave my magic wand and have my cake and eat it too".

How about a Texodus from the so-called land of the free controlled by the Obama-Clinton Axis of Big Pharma shills?

Texas used to be independent once. Just rewrite the Constitution to give power to women of color and give all citizens some weed evry month, like a guaranteed income but in weed rather than cash, and you've prevented most potential problems and made Texodus worth it already.
