Only about 4% of it is.

If Mexicans migrated to Oregon or California(California as the closest state to Mexico, Oregon is where I live), and had a massive population there, and suddenly wanted to become part of Mexico, does that make Oregon/California Mexico?
Hell no.
I wouldn't mind kicking California out of the union.

But Mexico used to own California, until all the Americans migrated there, had a massive population, and declared their independence...
Does that mean California is still Mexico?

This post is incredibly hilarious when you consider three historical things
1) Who originally lived in California
2) Which colonial state first owned California
3) How America acquired California

....
You're kidding right?
It's one of our key economies and states, and is extremely important to our military and political power.
It's also one of our biggest on USA military and naval bases, and is a large part of our economy.
I reckon you want to kick Texas out too?
Kicking those both out or either, would be a big blow to the USA economy, perhaps but not definitely and not likely a fatal one, but it's only 61% unlikely for it to be fatal, roughly.

Yes yes I get it.
But I was using that as I couldn't think of a better alternative.
Except maybe Crimea belonging to Russia, but then that'd start a flamewar.

Really? You couldn't think of anything better than the history of California? Which is something that goes against your argument.

But that's not the point. Yes it happened. But that doesn't mean it should always happen, especially to a national homeland.
Let's say that Syrians migrated to Ukraine and vastly outnumbered Ukrainians. I dunno how they would, just throwing it out there.
Then they want it to be Syria.
Does that mean that it's Syria if the Ukrainians are outnumbered?

Do you think the Ukrainians were always in what is today Ukraine?

Does that make California Yurokstan?
You're missing the point.
Just cuz some massive ethnic group migrates there doesn't mean they suddenly own the place and should go to that country.
Hell if that was true, then we need to really reshape our world map.

Sheesh, just kick out or kill the invaders; this isn't some great moral dilemma.
