No, it is due to them being white. Race is whatever classifications you want to make. Arab is a linguistic identity, compare the President of Sudan with Assad. Both identify as Arab. Yet look very different. Assad is definitely white though.

And yet for the general public that makes for fuck-all as shown by how no white-skinned person was kicked off a plane or even attacked or murdered for Sounding Arabic or Looking Muslim.

The average member of the public will not kill a Muslim or Arab. Those are a tiny minority, just like terrorists are. Don't generalize.

Here's a post related to politics I literally just made in another thread. It is riffing off a joke discussion I had of the same theme previously in the thread with another poster, being a pretty clear satire of the beliefs for energy policy direction we both shared.

In an alternate world where the Israelis could be convinced to go along with such a scheme it seems it would be quite logical on paper. The financial argument is rather compelling, and the Israelis would benefit from it as well in that they would now have official senate and house seats, in addition to their lobbyists and PACs. The only downfall I can see here is that without Israel as a common adversary, the newly formed state of palestine and their neighbors would no longer be united against a common adversary, and consequently would lead to additional instability as their squabble inevitably devolves back to the old shia/sunni divide. Might wind up saving on foreign aid to Israel only to pay for it at the pump later.
